Yo Sam, love your content and devotion to NB! I’m currently brainstorming a blog on niche sneaker genres and tapping into the markets of ASICS, new balance, Hoka, on cloud, saucony, and others similar in mission, culture, history, etc. Thoughts on linking up over zoom to chat on this topic?
You spoke to me with that 991v2 stone island. Damn idk i think ima make that purchase. Ive really been wanting that shoe but that resale price has kept me hesitant to buy a pair.
I remember talking about the stone islands. The reason the prices for those are so expensive is because they retailed for $270 which is pretty high. I don’t think the resale prices will get any higher so I would just keep watching. You could also wait and try and grab a used pair. I was able to find the jjjound black/navy V4s for $200. So keep your eyes on the price and when it feels right, grab em!
What’s up! Thanks for the support! That’s a tough question, both shoes are a 10/10. But if I had to pick I would go with the 991v2. The 991v2’s comfort is unmatched, it is the most comfortable shoe I own. The 990v3 is comfortable as well but it’s no 991v2. You can also buy the 991v2 straight from new balance unlike the 990v3 you would have to buy it from a second hand seller. The I have multiple pairs of 990v3s and 9/10 I’m wearing my 991v2 over the 990. I hope this helps!
Not necessarily, if you like the way a sneaker looks and it happens to be a collab then it’s worth it. Any new balance is worth it. It’s just up to you to determine your taste in new balance! But if you simply just want a new balance, you can never go wrong with a grey nb!
Imo its never worth giving resellers money. By buying resell, you're encouraging these bums to keep botting and price gouging people who actually wear the shoe. I'd rather get some red wings for $300+ instead of a new balance because a greasy bum wants to resell
You make a very good point, I didn’t think of it like that. It’s extremely unfortunate that these bums are taking advantage of people simply because we want a sneaker. Hopefully someday sneaker companies will produce enough pairs to saturate the market and everyone can get a pair
@@samdopkoskyagreed. These companies are feeding into the resell machine with the false scarcity. They only made limited baklavas because they chose to. If they chose, they could make a collab easily accessible (like the bodega 574) and still have it sell out. It's sad to see and ultimately why I stepped away from sneakers. Paying resell is a dangerous game if left unchecked. And it sucks filling these bums' pockets. Love the vids man
@slipperysnake3822 I think Sam’s point is that the shoes are so creative and high quality that you’re still getting something meaningful for the price versus other companies like Nike who’s resell prices don’t carry the same value since a lot of their shoes are half assed creative collabs with poor quality materials. Does resell suck? Yes. But NB has a product well worth a high price point more than Nike

Hi sam, i am a follower from Hong Kong and your video is awesome. I have a question. Would you rather to choosing 990v3 or 991v2? And why.

Sam the Lisan al NB
Them baklava 990v6 are so dumb nice wish I got them
It’s so unfortunate that they are so expensive. If I made a shoe that nice I’d make sure everyone had a pair
So if you are a sneakerhead fan the resell price worth but if you just want a new balance, only buy the grey or black version ?

@@samdopkosky thanks bro, and I have to say you that I just bought my new pair of 990v5 because of you and your content👍🏻
That makes me so happy to hear, I appreciate you!
New balance should hire you to sell their shoes. You are phenomenal at it 😁
Hopefully someday 🤣🤞
