Personally 990v5’s all the way for me; most comfortable and supportive and hope to see more collabs/colorways. Closely followed by the 2002r and the 990v4.. Love the channel mate, keep up the great work!

I wore the 990v6 for 2 days during the 4-day walking event in Nijmegen. 2 times 50km. Held up fine! Just ordered the 991v2 as my second pair of NB. Can't wait to try them on.

Bad idea having your shoes in clear cages next to the window. The light will fade and degrade them over time

It’s pretty insane that a sneakerhead’s favorite shoe of all time is the 990. 10 years ago nobody (not even NB fans) cared about them, to the point where you might be made fun of in school.

Great take. I do struggle with grey suede. It gets darker in the back and next to first lace hole and I am not sure it’s due to decolorisarion or just dirty and need to scrub more. Still wonder;) cheers

Cleaning suede is always tough. If they caught a lot of sun they just get cooked, but I kinda like that faded look :)

That water killed the suede and didn’t make it any cleaner than it looked after just the eraser

Nice vid, good tips. But instead of using a brush to un-harden the dry suede, you can use a small rounded nail filer. I use a round staple remover i took from an old job and it works so good to bring back the hairiness of the suede.

idk if i’m the only one that has this happened to me but the translucent part on my 990’s turned into this greenish grey colour and i think it looks amazing

What got me started is my friend is from DC and he hipped me to the culture and how it’s been a shoe of the DC (DMV) for 4 decades … it’s even videos on it on here on TH-cam and NB page made an ode to DC on their grey day roll out

Just got my first pair of v6’s … only had them on for 30 minutes … I’m going back to get me a black pair … Nordstrom’s have them on sale now …

Thanks for this comparison. I’ve worn the 990 v5 since it came out and had to buy the v6 when my NB store didn’t have the v5 in stock. The v6 was a nice shoe but after a few days I couldn’t wear them so I gave them away. Now I can’t find the v5 online in my size. This video has been very helpful and I will be trying the v4.

Do some videos on some other NB models... the 480, 580, 550, 650, the Rainier boots (Lou Whittaker climbed Mt. Everest wearing those)... the 1500, 577... seems like u do a lot of videos on the 99X line

Some other places you could have added to the list, or maybe you want to do another video on it. Nordstrom Rack currently has a pair of gray 996s for about 70 bucks, I think, maybe less. Also, you mentioned those 1906 SSense collab, and you said it looks like a kiwi.. Look into the 992 low hanging fruit. It's an actual kiwi in storytelling. And they are criminally underpriced and underrated Concepts collab. By far, my favorite 992. It's the only new balance in the 99x category that's completely sued with no mesh. All hairy Suede.
