It might be due to heat some samsung phones decreases maximum brightness when it is higher than a certain temperature

Ugh, I've been trying to fix this FOREVER! It's ONLY on youtube! Sometimes it's bright, others it dims and I have to hold on the video to make it bright. I'm seeing NO settings to fix it and I'm about to get pissed. I can't see that dim crap. Especially when everything else remains bright EXCEPT the dam video! 🤦‍♀️

Lock screen < Always on Display < Auto Brightness off < Then turn up brightness to liking

That's a great video thank you but what I learned from it is if this doesn't work out for you you could always make meditation CDs! Because listening to you I almost fell asleep on my feet. Hey, just watched your video and I've been having this dimming on and off. I usually re start or power on and off, and most times it comes back on. Today, April 23, 2024, it was acting up and wasn't being resolved although I tried everything. However, I tried one of your recommendation, that it, removing phone from case, as it has something to do with motion sensor and BAM, it's bright again. I must thank you, as I was about to give up on my Samsung phone. Lots of other information on TH-cam never mentioned this. I thank you once again!!!

in my case when I open any photo not from gallery from messaging app, it increase brighness and when i go back brighness restores.
anothe scenario is for some youtube long and short video, automatically brighness increases which is too annoying. Don't know whoes fault is that.

Mine did too. That's odd. It's only dim on youtube videos, the rest of the screen stays bright. Sometimes I can get ot to brighten back uo but idk how I'm doing it, and there are no videos I've found yet to explain what's happening.

Ok, what's a proximity sensor? None if these things helped, it just randomly fixed itself while watching this.
My screen is bright, the video is whats dimming and I have to hold the screen to keep it bright. I'm so over it. Lol!

None of this worked. It never used to dim on its own. Think it's a Samsung problem. But maybe solar flares are doing it.... or chemtrails...
