I ordered the black one. I was bothered by it's small size but, over time, this little guy has really grown on me! Excellent with a variety of straps ( especially NATO) the small size makes it great for biking and working out. Has a high " cool factor." This chrono is getting lots of wrist time. I'm happy with my purchase.
Bro, we need our chronographs to be able up to measure up to 12 hours. 60 minutes just isn't enough. Scrap the 24hr subdial and give us a 12-hour totalizer.
@@GeorgeUK84 Honestly most people who buy chronographs don't really use the chronograph function. Just like how most people who buy dive watches don't go swimming.
Just stumbled upon one in my local store today. It was his only one. Even got a small discount! This thing is exactly what I’ve been wanting aside from it not being auto. Never gonna happen at this price point though. Super happy with it.
This is the first time I'm watching one of your videos. I laughed my lungs out my arse laughing when all of a sudden, the little hand pointer thingy came into the frame! Your review has sold me on this watch. So thanks. If I can get a good deal here in the uk...
I first try the prospect speed timer in UK and I fell in love with the size and style. Really fits someone’s personality, wants & needs. My wife got me one as a gift. Seiko label it as a green but in my eyes it’s a lovely “ dark emerald green”.
Will pick one of these up in a year or two when the price drops and they go on sale. For the bracelet, I don't mind it, but also think it would look great on a black or brown rally/racing strap. Shame they didn't lume all the indicies.
Older me is starting to like solar watches and not having to deal with winding watches and setting time. Been looking more into Citizen Eco Drive and Seiko Solar watches lately.
That’s super sweet. I have an SSC637 Seiko Chronograph that has the same issue with the hands becoming misaligned occasionally. Especially when the battery dies. Similar fix though so it’s no big deal.
I ordered mine one month ago and I'm still waiting for delivery. I really hope to get it before Christmas. I know it's not perfect but I fell in love the moment I saw it. I think it would look great with a sailcloth strap or with a grey suede strap.
Other than few honest collectors out there, there are still people who are buying these only to sell them to make some profit, then they parade on how you can be rich by collecting watches. Oh come on, you know that's not right, nor it's true in most cases. Just hurting the watch collector community.
@japanwatchconnection depends on how you collect watches. There are some healthy collector community out there by exchanging cool watches with one another in more affordable ways. Don't have to be rich to be a collector. I think that's part of myth for most
I've heard some of the other colorways are easier to obtain the blue one (815) looks real nice with red dials and some numbers on the bezel. Since I already have a Panda Hamilton and Fortis, I would opt for another color.
Contacted my AD months earlier and put in my deposit, got it a week after its release. Love this watch 🐼 awesome review btw! Didnt know about the A and B button adjusting the energy and chronograph hands to alignment 👍🏻
Great to the point review. Pretty watch. I like Seiko chronographs. I feel that this one is bit expensive compared to existing battery and solar chronographs Seiko makes. .. and I seem to have bought !ike Recraft SSC 667 which is extremely similar solar in blue. Flighties, Pilot chronographs.
I got mine a week ago and is a awesome watch. I disagree with the bracelet review, I think is perfect for the watch. Great review and thank you for the second hand alignment tip !!
Just sold my Steinhart Paul Newman homage, but I'm still a sucker for nice panda-dials. That said: Based on pics, I would've expected to dislike this Seiko for the black-but-not-really-black subdials. Seeing it on video now, that doesn't bother me nearly as much as that deeply recessed date-disc. Although I probably wouldn't even notice that if I saw the watch in real life... :D
Hey thank you for the review! It would be amazing if you manage to also show 3rd person's view of your watches you review. It helps a lot if you see another person wearing the watch with arms resting on a table or something like that.
If you hafta have the B&W Panda, then yeah hard to find, but you can get the other color combos for sub. $600. and in my opinion they look better anywayz. Or go for other 3 register Seiko solar chrono's for less than $300!
This is a handsome watch. I appreciate the solar functionality. Thank you for the review. I have an older seiko titanium quartz chronograph that I need to dig out and put a battery in and see if I can get the hands realligned per your instructions (or whatever the internet says is the method).
I have several Seiko's, and I'm working on getting my watch collection into a bigger price bracket including Oris, Todor, etc....but I see no reason to get this Seiko Chrono over the Pagani Daytona homage....just got this Pagani and am quite impressed with it...worth all $80.
@@thoughtproduct7045 Bro, I get it, I own Seiko's, and mod them on the side...I'm just saying, for THIS price, there are better options for price vs quality. I'd look at a Hamilton before this for a tad more. Seiko's are ok...at the lower price point. $500 and up, I'm looking elsewhere.
When can we see the new 41mm big brother of this? ssc911p1 I just ordered mine last week will probably have it tomorrow. Excited but also feel stupid paying 700 euros for a quartz seiko
@@arielargo hmm, I think you have bought a replica or refurbished, the original Seiko bracelet matches perfectly with the watch case, maybe you have been sold a refurbished one brother
I'm so glad that I watched this review. Very informative and can't wait for my local AD to call me for this watch! Thanks Rob! Another great review from you! Happy holiday and Merry Christmas 🎄
There are different reasons watches dont stay perfect. Alot is friction. But the hands of a watch vibrate when you walk. Thats all to a central shaft that then the hours. Minutes. Seconds. All resonate separately. If you were to apply pressure to one or more hands. The watch stops working. So to is the resonance of walking translating vibration to the components. The watch is experiencing resistance. So the ability to reset so effectively is impressive. But you dont have a caliper to really make it all exact
Best comment EVER!!! That's the very reason that I bought the Pagani Design Panda 1701. Easier to source and it's got the very good Seiko VR63 mecha-quartz movement.
As usual, Seiko in Australia has tried to gouge its customers with a RRP of the equivalent of US $735 (AUD $1,050). Fortunately I managed to get mine from a local AD who was having a flash sale before the popularity of this model became known. I paid the equivalent of US $524. Happy days.
The bracelet thing is exactly why Seiko isn't what they used to be. Back in the day they would design a bracelet specifically for this model that nothing else would use.
Got mine from Japan and paid well under what retail is in Australia. It says it's limited edition and has made in Japan on the case back and hang tag. My friend got one that is assembled in Malaysia and does not say Made in Japan on it and no mention of limited edition. Little bit confused, can anyone help shed some light on this?
Although I wish they had added at least those little lume plots at each hour mark, it's better than nothing. This is likely a bit small for my taste for a chronograph, but you can bet I'm trying one on if they have it the next time I'm at my local Seiko Luxe AD. The bracelet end links not matching the case is definitely a quirk. I don't hate it though. At least it's got milled portions, and the they aren't trying to push hardlex on is over $600. Thanks for the review.
Wow after you explaining all the dials I actually like the watch better now. Interesting. I wonder if this one is a strap monster?? What do you think? I’m a strap guy.
I'm on the fence. I don't like the X logo. I hate the date window and wish they didn't put it on. I don't like the male endlinks. And I don't like the lack of micro adjustment.
As a bracelet guy, you had me on edge at bracelet doesn't match the watch and lost me at pin and collar. Great looking watch, but nah, not doing it for $675 at that point. Great review, though.
When seiko wont make these anymore the honey comb colour will be the most popular because no one wanted them and it rare . people like the panda because its more wearable to any swag
So what are they calling it? The Speedtona? How about the Seikmaster? And the bracelet issue is kind of lazy to be honest. I like it but I wouldn't pay $600+ for it.
This ones a major hit for Seiko and i thought they were getting out of the solar business. Great review Rob!
