In this game, if you're not first, you're last. Try to stay ahead as much as possible from the start, many items won't be used on you, which can mess a whole race up sometimes.
Imagine if Trevor played this game on the hard difficulty. We would looking at a rage moment every minute. But I love everytime he rages. Makes the series more funny and enjoyable.

TmarTn2 Hey Trevor, on your first race for a map make a mental note where all the green boost pads are, gotta make sure you hit every one. Also you make a lot of wide turns around corners, cut them closer, it’s faster and easier to power slide. Might’ve won that race at 15:05 if you hugged the right wall at the end and tried to boost (also you missed the boost pad a few seconds before). Best of luck!

Hey Trevor, if you hold forward on the left stick when you drop your beaker, you will throw it in front of you. If you hold back on the left stick when you use the bowling bomb, you will launch it behind you.
That's it, keep going Trev. If you are able to drift boost while driving over the green turbo pads you get a more powerful boost. The trick is then to chain the drift boosting and keep that extra speed. Try switching to the rev counter (speedometer) rather than having the boost gauge at the bottom right. You need to try and keep your speed in the top 2 red areas of the rev counter. If you can maintain that speed then you build a gap surprisingly quickly taking you out of range of the majority of the weapons. Most of the weapons are close combat which is why you get bombarded when close to the pack of other racers.
trevor,, a few tips .. 1. the reason why the cpu seems to blow past you it’s because they draft you. so they get a boost in speed 2. you can use the TNT, glass bomb, and the rolling bombs you can time it just right to avoid the honing missiles. so, if you’re in first place that’s the best defense you got. just make sure to use R2 to look behind to time it right if you can’t do it from the timer on the back of your kart!
Don't know if someone else in the comments has said this, but since you aren't playing on classic version you can change characters so you could pick ones with higher speed or acceleration or pick one with better turning for other races that require it (i remember getting mad at the PS1 version where you where stuck with crash so you just had to deal with being a slower character).
Timing is everything in this game. He could have won the race 🏁 when he had the time clock ⏰ as a weapon, but he did it too late. I played this game when it first came out in '99 and learned then real quick that timing is everything from dropping a weapon to jumping and drifting. I like his videos, he's gotten better since the part 1 video.
Different characters you can play have different stats for speed, acceleration, and turning. That’s why some characters seem to be faster than you in the straights.
His anger when he plays 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just can’t stop laughing. But honestly you getting better in this game and btw there is a hidden Paths you should know about them . I really do enjoy this game .
The trick is after you jump, you land to a powerslide and boost. Most of it is knowing the Track where the corners and curves are and when to use boost or just bunny hops. Play around the open world and do some tricks. :D
Crash Team Racing is kinda reminiscent to Mario Kart 64 Like the computers are faster than you they catch up to you even though you're going as fast as you can, and you need to make sure you have items and do TONS of drift boosts at all costs to make sure they don't pass you or get in the lead far away from you, and you have like a 52% of winning with no consequences.
BiG TIP: you need to be boosting everywhere... not just round corners. Straight lines, over boost pads, holding slide as you hit the ground after jumping. boost,boost,boost. If your not boosting your losing
Hey Trevor might want to pick a different character with higher speed boost. Believe it or not the big guys have a higher speed boost. Me and my wife play all the time and just realized that each character has different attributes. Hope it helps
It's true with all Crash games it's a love/hate thing, but that's what makes it so damn good. Playing against actual people instead of the AI is so much more fun though.
Trev here are some tips 1.look up shortcuts for the tracks on TH-cam 2.try different characters Crash isn’t the best try Crunch 3.to block rockets from hitting you wait for the for the box to become small then lay down a beaker,TNT or Niro crate,or bomb 4.bombs can be thrown behind you aim the left analog sick down then hit the O button 5.bombs can be use like C4 you can push O a second time to denote them 6.beakers can be thrown in front of you push the left analog stick up then O Hope this helps plz try to thumbs up so he could see
Literally beat Ripper Roo on my first try...passed him right off the bat and that was it. Use someone with a lot of speed Trev, it helps a lot once you get the drifting down, which you have seen to have done 👍🏻
if you wanna go faster you gotta choose a speed character like Tiny Tiger, the faster characters can't turn as well though, the stats for the characters matter
The bosses are rubber banded so they are going to catch up regardless but the racers do have stats he may have actually jst had a high speed stat than you.
need to fire the missiles as soon as you get them - dont hold them. also, he drops TNT as long as he is not fully fruited, at which point he drops nitros, which are instant kills

Hey ! I'm just curious as to why you never did a Spyro the dragon series, when crash re release you did it! I think you should do a spyro one
