Yup. In MK 7 and 8 Lakitu will help you playing normally, plus those game has a lot more jumps
Especially since gliders were added in mk7 there are so many jumps in the modern games

That part at the beginning of Toad's Turnpike is the starting point for the racers. The only part that's not used by the other vehicles, so everyone's having a clean start and they won't get hit right before the race. Obviously.

On Choco Mountain the Fences only appear in 50cc and Time Trials
Any of the Big Jumps in the game respawns you back on the jump since the game thinks you "screwed up" the jump
I know too much of this game...

At 4:47 if you’e wondering why he seemed to fall into a void then blinked back into the track, it’s because of culling.
Culling is basically a way of running the game smoother, where it unloads or stops rendering a specific part of the map that you can’t see, therefore it isn’t putting effort into loading what is basically invisible anyway.
When he fell into that part of the track, it loaded since it detected he was there, so it looked like he teleported.

After watching more competitive world records of MK64, the explanation for the nice respawns are from the game’s bizarre way of tracking checkpoints.
It’s complicated and I’m not even sure if I’m summarizing it correctly, but basically If you’re a certain distance away from a checkpoint and then go out of bounds, it sets your location further from a certain checkpoint back.
Here some knowledge.
Every track in Super Mario Kart is possible except for Mario Circuit 2.
Edit: that's all I know of.

For Bowsers Castle, use multiple players 3heavys and toad. Make toad bounce off them. It might work
The cars don't go backwards in other city levels because Toad's Turnpike is on a highway where all of the cars go the same way, but in other city levels, they are driving with you on the left side and against you on the right side.

Ha! The bit on rainbow road where he mashed the jump button reminded me of playing Sonic Rush, where you have to mash the A & B buttons to defeat Blaze.
This was one of the best of the backwards series for sure.
I thought this series would get less interesting the further back in the series you went, but this was the most entertaining episode yet

That was pretty darn neat
A few notes:
Koopa Troopa Beach: Toad made that sound because he was fully submerged in water. This indicates the maximum speed loss due to waterlogging, but out of bounds you were not.
Wario Stadium: Due to graphical constraints of the N64, Wario Stadium needed to be loaded in chunks. What you saw was a culling effect; the track had always been there.
Bowser's Castle: It is possible to climb the stairs, but I have no idea how it's done. Some crazy zero-frame bonk or something.
This is the game that I know the best out of the Mario Kart series, so I had figured out a few of these crazy things already. My bro and I had tons of fun jumping up the hill on Rainbow Road.
