I also wanted to comment on the WestOz RC Vipaz Solid Tyres.
I bought two sets from the first batch, and they've been killer!! The truck feels much more fluid...very smooth transitions (The extra rotating mass?)
I run the Spektrum 1250kv motor/160esc & Zeee 6s 6k mah 80c packs. After flogging the solids for nine packs, with rotations between, the tires are still over 95mm o.d.
A set of hoons I ran one day to compare was showing the belt on one rear after one pack, they may last one more....the new Vipaz I ran to compare lost .5mm in one pack, same day, same location....but I have run the truck much harder since I installed the Vipaz.
Sorry to ramble on, but Dave's hard work and vision has saved me a lot of money in running costs, and they have performed so well....

Thanks so much Chad 😜. Yeah a proper 7075 T6 chassis might've bent on that hit, but no gnarly explosion like with Bertha 😱🤣. Definitely a no landing zone right there 🤯. Bertha needed a middle and rear chassis, plastic top brace, gear cover, top bulkhead, and right front hub and C block. That's what I know right now anyways. I'm sure there's a couple more bits. Yo Rich, love the videos. Got tip for ya. On the street, try to find a parking lot that has that smooth sealed asphalt. The tires last longer and drifting, especially at high speeds is a freaking blast.

Dude i love proline wheels and tires but those bolt on hexes are a joke. I have broken so many. They always crack and round out under big power. They sell alloy adapters but there so expensive man. The best combo ive found are using arrma wheels with your preferred tires. Ive also had alot of luck with powerhobby and duratrax wheels but they also add to much weight. Give it the arrma wheels and proline tire combo a shot. Its the best for my combo ive tried. Keep killling it dude. I always tune it to what you and rcdude81 do and try to create new combos for better results.
Thanks so much Cole 🤗. Yeah I did some test videos like 3 years ago using the removable "Raid" hexes on belted Trencher 2.8's when they first launched. They're complete junk just like I summarized 😂. These MX57's have solid plastic hexes. Unfortunately they can't hang with rougher use. ARRMA 1/5 metal sleeved hex wheels are much stronger 💪. Appreciate your comment Brother!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Andrew 🤗. I ended up using small fiber washers from Home Depot. Rubber washers also grab the panels pretty well. Not sure what size I bought. The panel screws are pretty small. I went with whatever size offered better coverage then the screws. 😎💪👊👊

How those gears holding up on the x-maxx? Your temps lookin good also?
The Vitavon gears are hanging tough. No signs of wear after multiple runs 👍. Temps have been fine. Don't think I've had my motor past 150F. 🍻
Woosh that was some harsh landing on Giant Boulders, im sure no rc car would survive it. I wanted to ask something as well that some people are saying if I buy max 6 esc for xmaxx , then the stock motor will cut out so I have to install hobbywing motor. Is that correct please inform me.
Yeah that was a nasty hit no doubt 😂. The Max6 is a noticable power upgrade in the XMaxx. If there's cutting out, my guess is the Traxxas receiver or Tqi controller is the problem. I don't use any of that.

Rich I know this is a older clip but I have built all of my arrma car's Duperbash m2c approved and they have all been flawless. So I just picked up a x maxx today and have a full m2c beefcake kit on the way. Question is definitely want to do the shorter 56mm can hobbystar motor? And also do you feel that the mod 1.5 was need vs the mod 1?
Hey Josh 🤗. Hobbystar makes great motors no question. I love my Hobbywing 5687 1100 in this setup and the XRT. I honestly think it's the perfect size for both rigs. Any bigger just adds strain to the mount, chassis and drivetrain. The Vitavon mod 1.5 gears have been flawless. 25/30 is a bit tall with the 1100kv, but I haven't had overheating issues or cogging. Some run 25/35 and seem very happy with speed and temps. I kept going through spur gears with the mod 1 setup and didn't want the stock cushdrive either. Hope this helps 🍻

The truck is 1k new. You could definitely save buying used. Adding up new electronics, wheels, Hot Racing, and M2C bits probably adds another 800$? The truck is definitely overpriced in my opinion considering how much of it is plastic. 🍻

Hey Jeremy 🤗. The 800kv is too much for the XMaxx in my opinion. It adds unnecessary weight and more strain on the mount and transmission. My buddy Dave ran it for awhile and came to the same conclusion. Lots of breakages 😝. The 5687 1100kv and Max five is absolutely perfect 👌. Really like the Vitavon 25/30 gears with it. She's a complete animal. Kind of a bummer trashing Bertha the first ramp hit, but she's fully rebuilt and ready for more.

What is that mount for the switch on your escs?
I actually just used 30lb. rated Gorilla mounting tape. For the XRT I layed a layer of tape as a base, then another layer wrapped on the switch and pressed them together. Gotta clean all surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol first.🍻

The 1/10 Maxx seems to be the better truck
Smaller/lighter rigs almost always have a durability advantage. Personally, I think the Maxx handles horribly. Kinda like a brick on wheels. It's great for skateparks though. 🍻
Are aluminum bell cranks good upgrades? I have heard a guy saying that he killed the bulkhead on just 2 jumps with an aluminum crank.
Yes they are good upgrades, especially if you're breaking the stockers. Just have to grease the saver post prior to assembly to keep it functioning properly. Also helps to upgrade the servo horn and drag link to alloy. Hot Racing is very affordable. The bulkheads aren't very strong on this truck. I haven't found running alloy weakens them. The M2C chassis brace is a huge durability upgrade for both the front and rear lower bulkheads.

@@ReasonRaider I'm still running the stock top plate. Just run a longer M3 through bolt from the left steering post with an M3 locknut and washer on the bottom of the chassis/front lower bulkhead. Keeps the plastic steering post from breaking off at the base.

Yeah the XMaxx was never designed to withstand hardcore bashing, despite the myth some want to believe. If I wasn't a longtime M2C parts tester, I never would've gotten one. 🍻
I cant drive my new 8s through one battery pack hitting tiny jumps without breaking something. Thats on 6s. I swear my 6s xmaxx was way more durable.
Yeah it's frustrating as heck. Traxxas greatly exaggerates the durability and continues to use cheap materials to maximize profit. Some parts are well designed and durable, but many are prone to breakage. The pot metal gears drive me bananas 🤣
@richduperbash2966 too be fair the last one I landed on the end of a railroad tie and broke a hole in the center skid plate and bent the driveshaft. I'm just upgrading shit as it goes but in 4 times out I've spent 120 bucks fixing or upgrading stuff. I just don't remember my older one having as many issues and I ran it way harder.

@@mechanicallycreative9788 I think the M2C chassis support is the biggest strength upgrade. After that, probably their motor mount, Vitavon mod 1.5 gears with hardened steel shaft, Traxxas HD arms, upgraded aluminum bellcrank.
@richduperbash2966 Thanks. When I replaced the one arms I broke the hobby shop guy said it was an HD arm. I have to say it looked identical other than it said traxxas on it. Maybe it wasnt.
