Brother you are truly amazing I wish I was near you. I would truly pay you to teach me, but I know you would probably tell me. You have the knowledge from watching you just go practice and do learn from your mistakes!!!🎣🎣🎣
Michael, that is very nice of you to say. The cool thing and the advantage we all have today as opposed to when I was learning is TH-cam. I had to use books or order a VHS tape and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive. Lol. And you are right it really is all about the time you put in. I hear things like you are so talented and my response is....no not really...what you are seeing is countless hour's of practice. And honestly I still am never 100 percent pleased with what ever I paint. There is always something I can do better or learn. I still look at and learn from other artist video's all the time. You just keep doing what you are doing and if you want it bad enough you will get there. Good luck my friend and thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you like the video. I will be doing more videos in the near future on color theory basics. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this video, I have been describing this to my student in my Model Railroad Weathering Clinics, I now have a video link for them to see it in action. Don't know why I didn't do this for my clinics!
Thank you for producing this video and taking the time to help some of us get started. I'm retired now so probably don't have a lot of time left. I want to learn color theory so hopefully, I can paint a few realistic pictures which is my goal! Anyway, I'm going to buy a color wheel because of your advice. Thanks again.
Awesome infos👍 Next please, about chroma and value if it's possible 👍 -Also I have always problem how to find the complementary color!!! This is the list of the paint what I have, I need helps of the complementary to them please.: Naphthed red, Crimson, Carmine, Scarlet, Magenta, Pyrrole red, bleu violet, red violet, Moss green, Sap Green,Viridian,Cerulean blue,Ultramarine bleu, Cobalt blue,CMYK Thank you in advance, that will helps me more 🙏.
Awesome video and very well explained, question, let’s say you have a primary red and you want to push up highlights on it, how would you saturate it? Thanks again!
Jose, I'm not sure I understand the question but if you are starting with a primary red it is already fully saturated. Now if you want to put say....white highlights over red you may need to seal the red with a clear or intercoat clear first or your highlights may appear pink meaning you can get bleed through. Thank you for the question and thanks for watching.
@@TheAirbrushGarage thank you very much for the fast response. I paint miniature figures, Spider-Man in this case, so if I want to highlight let’s say his head what colors would I add to the red so it doesn’t look pink? that’s what I meant, sorry for not being clear and thanks again.
That would be green. The opposite of red or the " complement." Will darken the color. Refer to the back of the color wheel. I am doing a video on a color wheel app this week. Look for it 9n Saturday.
Any tips on using "strong" colors with "weak" colors, where you just want a small change, and don't want to use vast quantities of your "weak" color, when you need just a modest amount of the finished color?

Do you have a video or would you make one with the perfect sun rise and also sunsets with the de-saturated technique
Dam now I feel like a dummy, glad you shared this video on fb, learned so much.

Any tips on using "strong" colors with "weak" colors, where you just want a small change, and don't want to use vast quantities of your "weak" color, when you need just a modest amount of the finished color?
You can use a toothpick or a cocktail stick to add tiny amounts of the strong colour to a small amount of the weaker colour.
You could always use white to tint (or lighten) or black to go towards shadow. And I like the tip above. Thanks for watching guys.
3:45 Can you please tell me the size of the mixing ball you have in the yellow bottle?
Sher do get this chart ? I am canadian Québec french please....
