My sister and I were watching Danny Kaye in the Court Jester. When it came time for Danny in that formation march scene, omg we laughed, and laughed. My mother was older when she had me so I grew up with the American Movie Classics practically on all the time. Elmer Rice the playwright was most famous for a couple of plays written in the 1920s, The Adding Machine and Street Scene. Elmer Rice the Navy gent eventually made it to PR 2nd Class. Such a brave young service member. It's Nov. 2022. I wonder what he is doing today?
Everyone loved Danny!
Elmer Rice the playwright was most famous for a couple of plays written in the 1920s, The Adding Machine and Street Scene. Elmer Rice the Navy gent eventually made it to PR 2nd Class. (Also did air shows in the early 60s, with a team of jumpers, under the name of The Chuting Stars.) Dunno what he did after the Navy, but he got married in 1946. Doesn't seem to have had kids; died in 2007.
juliansinger Married in 1964, surely? Or did you mean 1966? 1946 has to be a typo; he was probably in kindergarten about then.
Tony Randal Danny Kaye fabulous
Tony Randall's laugh, is hilarious! Puts me in mind of his character Felix Unger on the odd couple. When Felix is clearing his nostrils with that annoying sound! Even Danny Kaye seemed to crack up laughing at his laugh!
