    I found turbo flex at a Costco they had very thin rimmed glasses that I’m not into. But they had 2 frames that were just my style. I forked out the same amount of $ I would spend on a normal pair of frames about $300. I was very surprised. They were so good that I spent the time to email them and say how much I love their product. As someone who works with a lot of kids. I would have to get 3 pairs a year just because of the sheer amount of abuse my glasses can get. And in those moments where I don’t have an extra pair it can be a huge pain in the ass. It is essential. not having a pair of glasses is just not an option for me.
    I’ve had my frames for 3+ years switched out the lenses twice and still no issue at all sometimes if I’m doing some physical activity or theme parks I would throw on some nice strings or be very careful with them so they don’t fall off my face because the springs did get a little loose after 2 years. They fall off if I’m looking directly down or any type of bouncing up and down. Even with those problems, the double hinges is still a good enough reason to get a pair as your daily or an emergency pair you can always count on.

    Bought a pair of easyclip Turboflex frames ($119) over 3 years ago, best frames I ever bought. Oakley’s ($325) about one year broke. Nike ($299) less than a year broke. The Turboflex outlasted the lenses! Very durable, very pleased! And I do like showing others the way cool hinges…. They just make sense. P.S. this is the first time I ever wrote a “just get them”comment, I’m that impressed THANK YOU

    Costco Optical Centers carried TurboFlex frames this time last year, but those frame numbers do not appear on the TurboFlex website but are TurboFlex brand. I have been using a set as my primary glasses for a year now and really appreciate the up/down and left/right swivel joints on the arms. Mine does not have the EasyClip feature- only those with the EC prefix in the name have it. EasyFlex seems to be gone now though, that was swivel joints on the nose bridge joints as well.
    This time last year (Feb 2020), the TurboFlex frames at Costco were about $60.

    This is the reason I love my 10 year old still going strong ic! berlin frames. Those don’t flex like this but when they get yanks or sat on - they pop apart and can fairly easily be re clipped back together. And they’re so light and frames go. I just love them. Never going to another brand due to this pair staying with me for 10 years

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for the question and sharing your experience. Colored lenses do carry a higher risk of complications and possible infection, especially lenses with older technology usually purchased online. If it was just inside out, then that would explain why it didnt feel good. The light sensitivity comes secondary to inflammation within the eyes structures. such as corneal swelling secondary to the contact lens. Usually, if you stop wearing the lenses the eye will heal within a few days, but if the eye remains red, painful or any vision changes, it is important to consult with a local eye care professional. I really hope things clear up for you!

The spring back feature is appealing but does nothing when part of the problem is considerable astigmatism in my camera eye. Some people can handle this removing glasses and adjusting the diopter wheel on the camera but this does nothing for astigmatism. My best answer so far is a pair of plastic frames sold by my eye doctor for sports that allow being hit in the face without wrecking glasses. Yes, they are ugly.

    the only thing I look for in glasses is if they look exactly the same as what I currently have, as I can see pretty much all the way around without needing to move my head and it's all still glasses, at least anywhere were its center of vision, and I like full rim metal in a dark blue to gunmetal some of my glasses have had the ability to flex fully some of them can't, but because they are on my head all day till I sleep, then on a nightstand/computer desk till I wake up, I haven't needed the fully flexible glasses in years.
    and if a kid older than 2 grabbed my glasses, it would be on a church doorstep that day.

      As in stare at a screen? Usually your eyes dry out faster because the contacts encourage tear evaporation and you tend not not blink as much while staring at a screen

    I would not choose silhouette frames if you tend to break glasses because they are said to be top tier yet they come loose with constant moving of the frames. If they break they are near impossible to mend at home and need a special devices to repair them. I have them since everyone says they suit me yet I am careful enough with them and I never close the frames them when I take them off at night. I had Carrera frames which were much sturdier and carelessly moving the frames would never break them. I still have them and use them at the dentist because they are easier to vigorously clean and the hygienist bumps into them or gets splatters onto them. Cleaning silhouettes you can't press them as hard. Im all right with mine although they would be a nuisance for careless people

      I wish there was strong scientific evidence for being able to improve visual acuity naturally, but there just isn't anything for me to recommend at this time. There are supplements that can boost peoples perception through contrast sensitivity, however. And modes of vision therapy can improve visual perception. If you are interested in any supplements please let me know and I will work on a video for that, otherwise for vision therapy you should see if there is a specialist in your area.
