This is a hard set to swallow the price of buying a case, because the minis are so, so specific.
Yeah, that's the problem i had trying to justify this set. They are so unique, great looking but not easily reused.
Yeah, though I think that's a positive. If you're playing Wild Beyond the Witchlight, you are definitely going to get minis you can use in every box. If you're not, it's an easy set to skip or you can just pick up the ones you want on the aftermarket. Though, some of the minis are just so fun that you may want to take your existing campaign on a little side-trip through the fey wild to have a little fun mini-campaign. -Theo

Some really nice updates to older minis in this set, and the rideable Ornithopter/Endelyn Moongrave combo is one of the coolest things I've seen in an Icons of the Realms set in a while. Seriously, we need more hags with mounts! Really curious to see the rest of the set.

What a... weird set. Lots of interesting critters. My first instinct is that they seem very particular to this adventure, but on reflection my perspective has shifted a bit. They may not have the same versatility as, well, most other minis, but if you have a setting with some oddities--Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, etc.--there are some very distinctive aesthetics here which can lend an air of bizarreness that really suits some campaigns.
Not gonna lie if I had bought this brick I would be really disappointed. Not worth 100 bucks IMO. P.S: great video! Love you guys.

Wait hold your horses are some of them actually on tiny bases?? Because I thought they bottomed out at small size bases just for functionality and stability purposes but if some of them are on legit smaller bases…. Please tell me before I go obsessively measure each one with a ruler!!! 😱😱😱 -Grady
Oh thank goodness. Yeah the reasoning totally makes sense and we were pleasantly surprised by the extra minis. But the base thing definitely had me panicking for a moment because I’ve already generated all the size caption graphics haha. -Grady
Incredible ugly Miniatures..... Iam sry but the prepainted Miniatures from wizz are realy realy ugly for a high price.

This adventure is amazing and the set is perfect for it, however it's so specific that I think it'll not sell well.
I absolutely love this set! As someone who has collected minis since the D&D miniature game era, minis need to be something unique to really pique my interest and this set delivers in spades! I am so happy with Wizards for making each of the Hourglass Coven hags unique and not just generic green hag, night hag etc. (also tired of them making generic hag minis in set after set) Really makes me want to use these unique hags outside of the adventure and incorporate them into my own games! Endeyln is my favourite (always a fan of creepy puppets and theatrics in my games) and so happy to see she comes with her ornithopter! Looking forward to picking up a bunch of these minis on the aftermarket!
Completely understand, I got in at Harbinger and got out at Desert of Desolation because I had bought at least one case of every set (two of every Huge Set) and was running out of room to store them and my DMs thought we had enough minis to Proxy for almost everything we would run into in their adventures.

looks like this set has a lot of great models. That mechanical flying mount figure is really cool. I also love that there are so many small figures. Those mini mushrooms are my fav I think from the video. :) I also really enjoyed seeing your reactions when opening the boxes :)
The lack of large/huge minis in $20 booster boxes is disturbing. The fact you have 2 boosters with 5 minis is suspicious....
Maybe because there are so many tiny models they might be offsetting the lack of larger models.
I bought about 16 of these boosters back then, and had about 5 that had 5 minis

The rise in price and drop in quality has me picking and choosing single minis. I won't buy boosters anymore and it saddens me.

i agree with much of these comments. very adventure specific. i suppose it's a good thing bc it makes it easier to decide whether or not to buy it based on whether or not it's useful.

The Displacer Beast kitten is called Star. Pretty cute, but a rather bland paint job. I too hope we get more baby monsters - what adventurer doesn't want to raise a litter of Owlbear cubs? :D
In 5E it is relatively easy to tell Sprites and Pixies apart, as the latter are green skinned while the former have human skintones. I do wish WotC introduced other faeries - Grigs, Atomies, Nixies - but sadly, not even in this book have they done so.
Wow, so Clapperclaw comes with alternate heads? Really clever! I have wanted that for quite some time for a lot of minies, better than the A/B variants or wasting an extra slot.
Yes, Jingle-Jangle is a Goblin - and a woman, too - so it is weird why she is on a Medium base.
Amidor is an animated dandilion. I wish they had drawn the art with the white fluffy seeds, not the yellow flower, but ah well.
Super weird distribution indeed. I am guessing Cradlefall was supposed to be Large as per the CGI render we saw, and even shrunken back to Medium is still taking up that place in a booster... but why some other boosters have 5 minis, no idea.
That alicorn piece is weird, not sure why it is so gigantic, in the adventure it is the size of the regular unicorn horn. Y'd think they would make it be in scale with humanoid minis.
Great video , but I too would be disappointed if I bought this brick there's really very few minis that interest me from this set . , but it would be awesome I think if they released a animated object box set like the did with the spell sets of miniatures , the blink dog is awesome the grell is pretty cool too.
Can we just talk about how wizkids charges out the ass for their miniature sets (which their paint jobs look like shite) campired to the old ones that wizards released where they had more miniatures for less money (and paint jobs looked so much nicer) makes no sense
I'm very curious about that Unicorn horn - it could be a really cool player prop more than terrain, outside of that I'll need to look into it.
Also, massive fan of the Grell, can't wait to get my hands on one of those!

It has it's advantages but for the most part it is extremely specific to the adventure, an amazing set to get if you are playing TWBtWL but less so if you aren't.

Cool video....again.... It frustrates me how some of these booster box sets are great and some are well....
The minis looks nice. but i think they are too specific to be of interest to most people. the two characters I was interested in are the Bullyvogs and the Rabbit folk.
Star is a displacer beast pup, not a blink dog pup
Proper term would be cub. pup would insinuate canine which displacer beasts are not.
@@dmdc5719 considering displacer beasts are monstrosities, thus not actually feline, I don't think the distinction matters. Besides, the point is not about the semantics of the offspring nature of the creature, but that the creature was misidentified.

I imagine most people use minis for combats. Not sure I am interested in this set so much as not need to put minis out that will not appear in fights.

A tad too specific for me. Hadn’t planned on playing this adventure so I may just buy some of the pieces in the after market.
Someone said this brick is not worth its money. I say it is, because so many unique miniatures one can use in so many different homebrew campaigns. Think of all the possibilities! Wow.

Where do you buy the boxes
If you are interested in a single booster box or a brick (sealed set of 8 boxes), almost any gaming outlet will have it: your local game store, shop.wizkids.com, dndmini.com, Amazon, online game stores like Game Nerdz, Cool Stuff Inc, Miniature Market, etc.
If you are looking for a case, which for most sets is supposed to get you at least one of every figure in the set, your options are more limited. Your best bet is a local game store, which is often willing to give you a discount and throw in the premium figures releasing along with the set, since a case is a big spend and they want to keep you coming back as a repeat customer. However, if you don't have a local store, you will have to go to online game stores as your only alternative. Game Nerdz typically has the cheapest price, though Cool Stuff can give them a run for their money occasionally especially if you have a loyalty discount, but both sites tend to only stock cases when they first release. Once they sell out, they don't really restock them. For older sets, Miniature Market is likely your only option for a case (other than your local game store, which can put in an order for any set that WizKids currently has in stock).
Lots of specific npc's and monsters that have been in recent sets. I usually buy a case but I think I'll skip this one.

I wouldn't trust release dates at the moment. I think it's very unpredictable. They pretty much just arrive when they arrive. And some places may get them before others. -Theo

I got the unicorn horn and it is indeed disappointing. it's counted as the large mini, and I had to look up the selection because I thought it was a broken piece. low key pretty disappointing to get instead of a large mini

Yeah, waaaaay too many specific minis for this adventure/set, especially for one that can avoid combat and the need for minis entirely. I'd like more sets to be general purpose sets.
