I know I've commented before but I keep coming back to this recording. I was a professional flautist, have recently returned to it just for the fun of it. Reflecting back, I possibly spent too much time thinking about what other people said I should be or do. I hope, Matvey, if you do get to read this, that if there are similar voices in your life at some point in your life, you have the confidence to ignore them. The last few years have been really hard for musicians. Know your worth.
This is just astoundingly good. There are a lot of good flautists around who can do amazing things with their technique, but this is musician first, flautist second. I didn't even like that aria before I heard you play it. It was that good. Just spellbinding.
My preferred interpretation of this piece.without romantic excesses or tearful rhetoric....just a simple expression of this sad melody. I hear a flute not a flute who wants to imitate a violin or a voice....Bravo, Matvey!!
My wife and I listened your music yesterday, in pyeong-chang, Korea. Your sound of silver flute blew our mind. Thanks a lot, Matvey ♡♡
