This is in my partner's list of favorite songs. It's a beautiful song, perfect for a drive through the woods, especially when I get to see their eyes light up when it comes on. I'm going to give them this album on vinyl for our 8 year anniversary next month.
That's actually a guitar solo. I have no idea how they got it to sound like a synth, probably through pedals. But the way it's played is how you'd solo on a guitar. I also think I heard that somewhere. Either way it's an amazing song.
My personal favorite Daft Punk song overall, it's really got that nostalgic vibe to it to a time I was never born yet felt mystical in its instrumentals and its robotic yet emotional vocals.
Yes, I remember when this was playing on the radio and at nightclubs - of course I bought the single, too - and the feeling of joy and musical excitement it carried. For me the nostalgic element is much to do with those 1970s-style keyboards and vocals (many people wrongly think they sampled Supertramp, they didn't but the electric piano break at 2:45 is very close to the Tramp's classic single "Dreamer" and that kind of piano was heard on lots of tracks during the disco era). I remember hearing The debut album of Flash & the Pan (from 1979, the same year as that George Duke sample) when it was fairly new and it has a similar filtered sound, groovy yet liquid and transparent, laid back yet pulsating....
" Before i knew it, this dream was all gone" We all miss you Daft Punk. Every time i listen to your music i feel nostalgic and it just gives my the best vibes that no other artist can achieve
When someone asks "what's your favourite X?", it's hard to pick a favourite. You think and think and then finally give an answer. When someone asks me, "whats your favourite song?", without hesitation I say " Digital Love by Daft Punk". It has everything I love about music.
I remember when I was in middle school. I had my first kiss and went home and played this on vinyl. This song perfectly encapsulates what it felt like to be in love like that The whole album resonates though, because when we broke up I played something about us and I cried my eyes out
Just a few days ago I was listening to this song while riding the bus to my Grandparents house in New Jersey and just so happened to be reading this exact comment. The song combined with reading what’s described in this comment almost made me cry doing so.
Daft Punk will always be so comforting to me. My dad introduced me to their music when I was younger, and we always listen to their songs together on long car rides. This is one of his favorite songs, from his favorite album, and it always reminds me of him, like a little piece of home. Daft Punk is amazing, and their ability to bring people together through their music is just wonderful.

The amazing thing about this song is that the sampled progression cord melody never resolves, it's has a circular structure so it gives you the felling of expecting/unresolved desire described in the lyrics "I wish this dream comes true", just genius!
Maybe the reason I like this song sm is because it reminds me of how my love interests not often become a reality and remain as dreams. And it's kinda sweet, but also sad to keep dreaming about those thing I'd say or do if only I had the courage to. Feels like this song talks to socially awkard people who are affraid of being rejected but at the same time wish to love and be loved.

this song hits differently when you go exactly through the same xD. You think that it feels stupid when people say "this song is talking about me", until it happens to you. Damn.
This song is so powerful to me. I heard this song in the car with all my cousins and it reminded me of the times we all had when we were kids. Before their mom (my aunt) passed away and when we were just young and innocent and didn’t have any worries. Now I’m 18 and my oldest cousin is 22 and his younger sister is 18 too. It used to just be us together... now all of us are grown and distant. When that part comes up where it says “oh, I don’t know what to do”. That’s exactly how I feel right now. I have no one to talk to or nobody to tell my feelings to and I can’t stop fucking crying. I just wish we never grew up💔
My boyfriend says the word "jam" a lot, like a lot a lot. It's kinda goofy, but cute. When they sing "when we jam" at the start of this song, it always makes me think of him, and smile so big. Love is in the silly little things, I suppose. Yes babe, this is my jam.
man that’s awesome, i had a dream about my gf describing the situation in the song “last night i had a dream about you, in this dream i’m dancing right beside you” and yada yada, long story short, when we broke up i found this song and it made me so happy, it made me feel as if i was still with her in a way, it made me revisit the feelings i had whenever i saw her smile

One of the best tracks, period. Top of the pile, man
@@jacoblott1617 I agree! This track just puts a smile on my face every time I listen to it.
For me this will always be the perfect song that represents when someone is in love.
Also demonstrate the talent and how great Daft Punk were, they knew when to start and when to quit, and they did it all with style.
Hope wherever they are, their lives are as cheerful as their music made ours
Last night I had a dream about you
In this dream I'm dancing right beside you
And it looked like everyone was having fun
The kind of feeling I've waited so long
Don't stop, come a little closer
As we jam, the reason gets stronger
There's nothing wrong with just a little, little fun
We were dancing all night long
The time is right to put my arms around you
You're feeling right; you wrap your arms around too
Suddenly, I feel the shining sun
Before I know, this dream is all gone
Ooh, I don't know what to do
About this dream and you
I wish these dream comes true
Ooh, I don't know what to do
About these dream and you
We'll make these dream come true
Why don't you play the game?

That part reminds me of an old Andrew Gold song from the 70's

This is one of one those songs that gives you an indescribable feeling
Guitar through a synth is a criminally underused technique.
You think that’s what they’re doing? I can never tell...they make it too hard to know because they can craft guitars to sounds like keyboard and keyboard to sound like vocals lol
But they made it legal
i fucking love it. sounds like the future
@@COLTRONNN daft punks creativity is straight TALENT
Guys also remember this album is 20 years old. Just shows how creative those two guys are.
The synthesizer solo at 3:17 is definitely my favorite part.
that's not a synth that's a heavy effected guitar
@@eeshsinger My thought was that it was a guitar with a talk box.
@@eeshsinger It's a synth. Thomas confirmed this in an interview. It's just modified to sound like a guitar.

Grew up listening to Daft Punk, them retiring is like a chapter of my childhood closing, musical legends💚
that is EXACTLY how i feel...though it was more like teenage years for me (I discovered them by mistake while searching the word daft lol) and they became instantly my favourite to listen to no matter what mood I had...
It annoys me that some people will start to say “who is daft punk?” as if they weren’t the legends of edm that brought a new era of edm into existence.

This is in my partner's list of favorite songs. It's a beautiful song, perfect for a drive through the woods, especially when I get to see their eyes light up when it comes on. I'm going to give them this album on vinyl for our 8 year anniversary next month.
And finally, that dream comes true.
Nice!

My music teacher played this song to show what daft punk sounds like and I ended up falling in love with this song

I am so sorry for our loss ❤️
Thank you for everything!
This whole album is endlessly replayable to the point it's absurd. If you haven't listened to it before, trust me, listen to it
Yes! On repeat everyday since I've heard it the first time
Best album of the 21st century
One of the greatest albums of all time.
For me, best song of Daft Punk
It all makes sense by the end.
this song is crazy good, i feel that being able to hear those changes in notes on the synth and guitar is something beautiful
That synth solo and all that attention to detail... just WOW, to this day. They had a legendary run.
That's actually a guitar solo. I have no idea how they got it to sound like a synth, probably through pedals. But the way it's played is how you'd solo on a guitar. I also think I heard that somewhere. Either way it's an amazing song.
@@Jimbo386000 I looked it up on Google and sadly, it isn’t a guitar solo. They sequenced the solo on synthesizer.
@@TheTouristArrives Ah damn. :/
@@TheTouristArrives Still cool though!
One of the coolest solo's I've ever heard
This is THE song of my childhood. Will forever cherish and love it. Thank you Daft Punk.

This song perfectly encapsulates what it felt like to be in love like that
The whole album resonates though, because when we broke up I played something about us and I cried my eyes out
Just a few days ago I was listening to this song while riding the bus to my Grandparents house in New Jersey and just so happened to be reading this exact comment. The song combined with reading what’s described in this comment almost made me cry doing so.
This year, it's gotten really hard to listen to this without tearing up
I've always loved electronic music, so my dad put daftpunk on and said this was really famous when he was in college and I started getting into it.

Daft Punk is amazing, and their ability to bring people together through their music is just wonderful.

thank you daft punk for making us have all this feelings ...
a daft punk concert is one of those things I have no wage cap on. Whatever it takes, I'm going. I hope I get the chance, but . . .
Well, you'd have to get them to unify again...
Daft punk come back, please, we need this sound.😅
Sorry to break the news to you.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM
France is proud of you daft punk
The amazing thing about this song is that the sampled progression cord melody never resolves, it's has a circular structure so it gives you the felling of expecting/unresolved desire described in the lyrics "I wish this dream comes true", just genius!
Maybe the reason I like this song sm is because it reminds me of how my love interests not often become a reality and remain as dreams. And it's kinda sweet, but also sad to keep dreaming about those thing I'd say or do if only I had the courage to. Feels like this song talks to socially awkard people who are affraid of being rejected but at the same time wish to love and be loved.
I cannot stop listening to this song and I keep watching Insterstella 5555 Like holy crap this song especially it takes me places

I've spent all day with a tiny memory of a guitar solo. Looking for this all day. Jesus it gives me shivers.
Listen to Andrew Gold - Lonley Boy. Daft Punk sampled that.
I have loved this song like crazy for 8 years now! still melts me...
this song hits differently when you go exactly through the same xD. You think that it feels stupid when people say "this song is talking about me", until it happens to you. Damn.
Daft Punk's music will always be remembered.
I just wish we never grew up💔
Maybe try arranging to meet up with them again
My boyfriend says the word "jam" a lot, like a lot a lot. It's kinda goofy, but cute. When they sing "when we jam" at the start of this song, it always makes me think of him, and smile so big. Love is in the silly little things, I suppose. Yes babe, this is my jam.
How's the relationship going now? We're all waiting for updates.
