The exquisite Miss Doretta Morrow singing " My Romance . " ... nuff said .
Gorgeous entertainment, well never see the like of this outstanding talent again.
You SAID it. Have a good day.
That is for sure.
Considering the time period when this was recorded, the soundtrack sounds very good even today. Thanks for sharing!
They released an LP of the songs on the show. I digitized it and synced it to the kinescope, which had lower quality sound.
@@greggoppenheimer Nice job of combining the LP with the kinescope film!
So excellent in so many ways
In November of '57 I was just 8 years old. As a New Yorker my mom would take me into the City to see Broadway shows. So I often look for YT videos from this time and genre, I am glad YT directed this video for me to see. And I added a "Like"
Ahaa..you are older than I am. I guess you were born in 1949--me...well, I found out that someone loused up my birth certificate. LOLOLOLOLOL.
Jacques D'Amboise, he dances with his partner so beautifully, the lifts look effortless.
What a great gathering of outstanding talent. A tremendous treat!!
Am i also seeing Helen Hayes; Chita Rivera; Jacques D'Amboise and Bambi Lynn (from the film Oklahoma) perhaps? Doretta Morrows Broadway voice is so beautiful to be able to hear and so sad at her early death. Thank you for sharing this find...
Omg ~ very beautiful ~ So much skill and talent !
The sound is amazing , and the performances mesmerising !!!!
Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! The sound quality is particularly good during the songs because fter the special aired, NBC released an LP of songs from the show, of which I had a copy. So I synced the hi-fidelity sound from the LP to the picture from my dad's 16mm kinescope.
Omg Howard Keel, he is so delicious!
YES.....LOVE him since i was sweet sixteen and do so now even more at 86...!!!!
TV used to have class.
Oh my God! "et al" is Chita Rivera!!!
There are more Richard Rodgers songs than Irving Berlin songs here sang by Howard Keel Dinah Shore Doretta Morrow and others and danced by Chita Rivera Jacques de Ambroise and Baby Lynn .As hosts Kirk Douglas Helen Hayes Ernest Borgnine and Dan Daley who sang and danced
There were great TV shows in the sixties
It's Bambi Linn--nee Linnemeier (sp).
@@Juliaflo Last I heard, she was still alive. From Brooklyn like me.
The songs are fabulous, and so are the singers, but this looks like it could have been 167 years ago, not 67, because styles, tastes, technology have changed so vastly.
Always a pleasure to see Doretta Morrow.
