I’m 72 yrs old and still listen to rock and roll with a good set of head phones. My time was the 60s and 70 s sounds. I am so happy to hear this being heard in 2022. It’s awesome. What a blessing.
In my 70s as well; been waiting half a lifetime for brilliant music like this to make a come back.
I discovered them on tiktok. I’m 63 and grew up on Led Zep. Yes GVF is similar but are very obviously standing on their own. What amazing talent!!

I am a teen of the 1970's and have been a musician for years doing some studio work , and playing with several bands. and I have not been this excited for music in MANY Years,,...... This guys voice is as if Freddie Mercury, collided with Janis Joplin , and then swallowed Gedde Lee for grins and giggles. Josh and the band both have a talent, charisma and style I havent encountered in a very long time . This is EXACTLY what rock music needs right now to blaze the trail Back to real musicianship , , real songwriting , and real talent . !!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way Danny , I love your paced and respectful reaction. Instead of talking , and stopping the music every thirty seconds for fear of the You Tube copyright infringement Nazi's, you let the music soak in , and your face said it all . Great job.

Sometimes a song can change you and the song has done just that. I've known Greta Van Fleet for a couple of years now and I've loved them and wondered why they're not played more often on the radio but this new album is indescribable. They're on a new level now

Highway Tune was their first hit. The first time I heard it on the radio I thought it was some early Zeppelin track I had never heard before. 😄
Josh (the singer) used to sound (and move) like a young Robert Plant but lately he sounds a bit more like Geddy Lee. Definitely has a unique voice. They have a lot of haters because of the early comparisons to Led Zeppelin, but they are moving beyond that.
Cool :-) I've never listened to Zeppelin on purpose(what I've heard hasn't drawn me in) so I don't have that problem with this. To me it's just a fantastic song with fantastic vocals. And from what I've heard of Rush, Josh's voice is much more my thing on this one.

I got into them after hearing "Age of machine", but I change my favourite song all the time. Now I'm listening to "The barbarians" all the time. They're just amazing musicians. Do more reactions to them.

"The Barbarians" is amazing. Jake's guitar drew me into that song, instead of his '61 Les Paul he used a vintage Stratocaster for a more muscular tone. The other song added to "The Battle at Garden's Gate" at the last minute was "Caravel" in which Josh's vocals are a marvel between 3:35 to 4:00. The first few times I heard it, had to rewind back to listen again. Right now have been listening to "Stardust Chords" over and over again. The whole album has no bad songs. Some are better but there are no bad ones out of 12 which is remarkable.

My college daughter discovered GVF’s music during the COVID lockdown. This band saved my daughter, she was alone/sad. It was a lockdown. She was not home with us. We all have been to two concerts and love them very much. We know Rex too!
If you loved Josh's voice, you could react to Stardust Chords! If this song gave you chills, Stardust Chords will thrill you! Josh has an OVER 2 1/2 octave vocal range and controls each note just as well LIVE as on the recorded albums! This band is phenomenal! Josh is lead singer, his identical twin, Jake is on guitar (both 25 yrs old) 22 yr old brother Sammy is on bass and keys and lifelong friend Danny, also 22, is on drums. The more you listen, the more there is to love about their music. GREAT REACTION, TY! 😎

"This is just STUPIDLY GOOD!" Amen, and my sentiments exactly. My adult sons turned me onto GVF with this song and my jaw was literally open most of the way through the song. Josh's voice is simply difficult to believe it's true when you first hear it. HOW is that possible? But it is, and it's miraculous.

This song, in my opinion, is on par with The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’. It’s very soulful and authentic. Very heart felt. The first time I heard both songs, I had the exact same feeling in my chest. Just this yearning for just for being alive and in love. Such a wonderful musical piece.
"I want to hear it again right away" is how it starts and "I bought tickets to another one of their shows" is how it goes.

I absolutely love Greta Van Fleet so much my faves are “Heat Above” “My Way Soon” and “When The Curtains Fall” I also like “Black Smoke Rising”. I heard “Heat Above” on the raids and thought this is awful but when I came home I ended up searching for the sound using bits of the lyrics that I remembered. After that I figured out there name is Greta Van Fleet and I was obsessed I listened almost everyday to there songs and I eventually got two of there cds. I absolutely love Greta they are fantastic musicians and you should do a video of a couple bits of there songs and Led Zeppelin almost identical sounding so I hope you read this and do a vid on both there songs together

When I got this CD I listened to this song at least 10 times in a row. What a great tune it is.
WOW is absolutely the word. I mostly ignored them earlier, with all the Zep comparisons and all. I can't ignore them any longer. They absolutely crushed it with this song, and the entire album. A force to be reckoned with.
this is probably the best this band has done... and they are still so young. very exciting to see this huge progress in songwriting and arranging.
Loved watching your reaction. And helping spread the word of this group. They have already hit the mountain top and have many albums ahead of them, I am sure.
For those who have missed out...they already won a Grammy award, hit the top of the charts, played a lot of the biggest festivals, been on the top watched television programs and have toured Europe, South America, North America, Australia.
I believe it all started when they signed with Kid Rock"s manager.
Sir Elton John said they were the best rock band he had seen in years and they played at his Oscar's party. Slash from Guns n Roses is a huge supporter.
They have played in big stadiums already and continue to fine tune their craft. Josh has a great voice and Jake is awesome on guitar. Danny rips it on the drums and the other brother can play multiple instruments.
They have moved from Michigan to Nashville and are in a great place to make lots more music. Hope more people give them a listen.

I first noticed them without sound activated since I was learning and scrolling thru YT for a tutorial. I smiled and thought: well these youngsters seem to have plenty of fun. When I first heard this song……. My jaw dropped to the floor. Did not enjoy to hear a new songs for a very long time ago the way I did with GVF. It’s so beautiful ❤ I am in love with their music since then
It's like Geddy Lee and Robert Plant had a baby that could do everything they wished they could. GVF is a great band with the best singer on the planet out front.
It's crazy how their live performances are somehow better than the recordings!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this excited before. Absolutely get that Blur feel in the beginning. The guitarist does a solo in their song My Way, Soon that reminds me a bit of Graham Coxon actually.
I get a strong Rush vibe from this one, almost hear Geddy Lee's voice in his sometimes. I also love the organ and the yodel twist in his voice, absolutely brilliant.
Apparently the parents played all the music they used to listen to as young for the three brothers so GVF's influences are many and very varied. I was five years old when I heard "Smoke on the water" and that's where it all began for me, hook, line and sinker - all thanks to a nine year older brother who brought home records every week. Listening to GVF is partly a nostalgic trip to me, brings back childhood memories - good times :)
I've followed them since their official debut in 2017 and they are just getting better and better. I've thought of seeing them live but so far they have not been to Sweden. They did a mini tour in the UK that I really should have gone to. Apparently they're opening for Metallica in the upcoming tour, let's hope that takes them to Europe because it's almost impossible for us to enter the US right now, they sure make us jump through a lot of hoops in order to let us in because of the pandemic..

Haha I'm so glad you like them! This is one of my favorite bands, my wife recently surprised me with tickets to see them in Chicago this fall! Any of their tracks from the "Candle Light Sessions" recordings are especially good sound quality to hear Josh's live vocals, I think "Broken Bells" is my favorite from that recording session. They explore a pretty good variety of sounds throughout their 2 albums, all clearly inspired by classic rock. I like pretty much everything they do!

I like this song very, very much! Broken Bells is also quite good too. Sadly, the remainder of the album sounds like derivatives of the 2-3 great songs. The inclusion of the organ really sets it apart from anything else I've heard.
Yeah I gotta check out more. I assume every song can't be this good but there can still be good stuff I assume. LOVED this!
