In this clip, Michael Franzese speaks about his father, Sonny Franzese, passing away at 103 earlier this year. Michael explained that his father was in prison for 40 of the last 50 years of his life, and while he was thankful that his father didn't die in prison, he wouldn't have wished his father's life for anyone. Michael went on to reminisce about the good times with his father, including a huge graduation party and seeing Dionne Warwick at the Copacabana in New York with his class. He also shared some of the more trying times for his family while his father was in prison, including both his mother and sister passing away. I feel that Vlad tries to be empathetic. He is not always interviewing evolved people. So if he wants them to share, he tries to connect.
Danger Mouse no what he does is over talk them by saying that he knows someone in the situation or that he has had a better or worse experience. He doesn’t give the person time to say what they’re trying to say. He cuts them off by implicating that he has superior knowledge or insight. He tries to dominate the conversation. If anything you can tell that the person who is being interviewed knows that Vlad is a narcissist. They usually make a face of surprise/disgust as Vlad continues to embark on his rant about who he knows or how his situation overrides theirs

As a retired clinical therapist I can tell you how impressive it is that you turned away from the life and have risen above your grief and the shame and all of that. Bravo to you and your wife too. Michael's father although too old to be an active member in the Mob he had never cut ties with them and had a lot of friends who respected him and for sure would attend his funeral. Wow you can really see and feel the sadness and grief when Michael says he didn't go to his father's funeral. This families story (as well as others) is so sad. Hence the sins of the father -ring true. I am glad Michael isn't sugar coating his story as he truly explains in his interviews how his family was completely destroyed by their choices.
