Your Alocasia are stunning!! Love your informative content! Thank you ❤
Moving with so many plants is going to be very challenging! Stay strong my friend 🌿
I know! 🤣 Thank you it's going to be chaos 🫣
Just look at that silver dragon! 😍
I know she's a beauty, i hope she'll survive the repot 🤞🤞
Your Alocasia’s are very beautiful 😀🇨🇦
Thank you 😊💚
Great informative video. I’m still experiencing hesitation with alocasias so I like to gather as much info as possible. Your new place sounds exciting!
Thank you 💚 yes they can be tricky, best to start with one like the Zebrina or the Polly that are a little bit easier in my opinion.
Get it done girl!
I was tired by the end 🤣
👌 great video
Thank you 💚
So nice to see you pottering with your alocoasia. Great video and loving your channel. 😊
Just checked in on my zebrina corms, all white and squishy 😢
Thank you so much 😊
Oh noooo! What substrate were they in?
@wyldhouseplants They were in damp perlite in a tupperwear box..I've done the same with cucullata corms, which seem fine. I'm a bit concerned that I've not peeled them as you did. Should I?
I love using diatomaceous earth. Such a life saver.
To make it easier to apply I mix it with water and spray the plant. I usually leave it for a couple days. Wash the plant and repeat a few times. Some plant that get lots of lot might have DE on them for a couple weeks before I wash them. 😅 They don’t look as pretty for a bit but it gets rid of pests.
I also mix some in the soil or in the watering in between seasons or when I think there might be pests (plant Ms like Hoya not growing but no roots issue etc…)
Oh that's good to know, I heard it doesn't work when it's wet but obviously it does for you so I'll try that. Thanks! 😊
@ the powder ends up staying on the leaf when the mix dries :)
Does the DE come off eventually? Many years ago I used it on my plants and it caused a few deaths assume due to suffocation, I struggled to get rid of them off the leaves after treatment... but it was a while ago.
Your slocasias look gorgeous .
Oh really? I've not had any issues but yes after a few weeks or so I tend to wash it off and then reapply as and when I need to 💚
What does a fungal infection look like on an alocasia and what can you do about it?
Normally it's yellow/brown spots or sections on the leaf that spread to other leaves. You can buy fungicides to treat it which will prevent spreading but the affected leaves will be damaged so probably need removing.
