Ayala is right - it's been 001/Henry/Vecna controlling the narrative all along. In fact, the Duffer Brothers admitted that there have been clues since season 1 that he was always behind the scenes. One main clue was the sound of a clock in the background of previous chapters. Now if you re-watch all the seasons, you'll have to keep that in mind, pay close attention, & listen for the clock chimes. Matt & Ross Duffer are such sneaky little... 🤐🤣
I actually don't believe that at all. It creates a lot of plot holes. I think it is more impressive if they came up with the whole 001 and still managed to made it make sense. The clock could just be a retroactive use of a sound effect.

It's definitely been Vecna the entire time since season 1, even created the mindflayer out of the shadow. Eddie playing Master of puppets is fitting since Vecna was playing puppet master. I do think Max is stuck inside Vecna like all the others he's killed and that's why El couldn't find her so if she finally kills Vecna I think they can get Max back.

As for Joyce, Winona Ryder is the most experienced actor on the show. So it could make sense in a way where she comes across more as a actor, because she has done so many roles up to now. I agree the reason Eddie did it was because they had not stalled them long enough and was afraid they would go back and catch Steve and them.

Out of all the people that Vecna has killed, Max has her body to return to if she is able to. El had tried to put all of the good memories into Max's mind to try and keep her safe.

Sadly I saw Eddie dying since the moment Vecna killed Patrick. There was just not a logical alternative for that. The character was cornered. Even if they "redeemed" him, he would always be marked as a murderer or satanist for some people and his life and reputation would be ruined in the public opinion forever. Barb, Bob, Alexei and even Billy would have been relatively fine if they survived, but Eddie was sentenced almost since the beginning.

Out of all the reactions I've watched, I notice that most have missed this little tidbit... When Mike is talking to Eleven, he is being the "heart" of the group as Will explained it to him. He is the leader who gives strength by encouraging the others to keep going no matter what. While Mike is telling El how much he loves her, we get cuts to the scene of Lucas & Jason fighting. We see Jason choking Lucas almost to the point where it looks like he is going to pass out. While Mike is yelling to El, at the same time in a way he is also telling Lucas not to give up. So when we hear Mike say "You have to fight! Fight, FIGHT!" & she releases herself, that's the same moment when Lucas gains the strength & proceeds to beat the living shit out of Jason. He would have kept going, but he was more worried about what was happening with Max. By the way, she did die, but with Eleven being strong enough to bring down a helicopter, she made Max's heart start beating again, like a defibrillator machine used in hospitals. 🙂 The reason why El couldn't see Max in The Void is due to Vecna having a hold of her. Right now fan theories points to the possibility that He'll probably use Max as bait for Eleven next season. Eleven & crew have won this first battle, but the main war is still coming. Now the long wait for season 5 begins. The scenes of Dustin with Eddie and Lucas with Max were so sad. Hearing Lucas yell out 'Erica help!" was heartbreaking. By the way, that was not in the original script, Caleb/Lucas improvised that scene & added his desperate plea for help. Caleb & Gaten gave stellar performances in this chapter. 👏👏👏

An interesting episode of National Geographic there, the mating customs of the Hawkinsians are fascinating! Sheesh I had forgotten what an ass ending this season had! Such is the power of self hypnosis. If Max got severely braindamaged from the time she spent "dead" AND got blind AND possible loses mobility in most of her limbs... well, to me that would be worse than dying, being trapped in my body! Dreading to see what they cook up for season 5.
My theory is that Max’s mind is tied up at Vecna’s house in the mental realm (in his mind) as we saw before. He told all of his victims he wanted them to join him and tied them all up at his mental home. So El needs to rescue her from there for her to be able to return to her own mind and wake up. Her eyes weren’t physically crushed though, so I think she’ll be able to see again once she is restored to her body. As to who might die next season from the main cast, I think if they kill anyone, it’s most likely to be Jonathan… Nancy may end up with Steve, and so ending Jonathan’s story to allow that more easily makes sense. The one argument for saving Jonathan is for him to be there for swill. But maybe Will will find someone else next season to console him. They could also kill some “main” “side” characters like Murray if the feel the need for threat level, but I think there’s just not enough emotional reason for it. Max is safe next season because she was setup as nearly dead this season so they can save her next season. They obviously can also still kill off the “evil” general… but maybe the good doctor will die as well since he’s just a side character. Great reaction as always! I thought that maybe max was pushed into vecna' and vecna retreated into max when the music skipped. Then i figured that wasn't so when vecna physically ran off. I wonder if 8 is going to be contacted by vecna and then do a switch to help elle.
Everyone thinks it was Jason fault and so did I but I realized it really wasn’t, the music wouldn’t have helped either. Many people think Victor Creel got out bc of the music but it was only bc Henry fainted. She only survived because she was thinking of the people she loved, but vecna overcame that in this episode. Ik it’s not actually the reason but I see this as why it took so long to break her bones bc she was trying to fight back, but either way I don’t think she would survive. Also I’m pretty sure she’s brain dead, in the 7th episode he tells El “they aren’t gone..they’re in here” while pointing to his head, so u are right about her being trapped with vecna meaning she has no control over herself/mind.
I agree about Steve dying in the next season. If you really think about it, Steve is not really a player in the plot. Especially in season 4. He just lives because people love him. Since season 5 is the last, there is no real reason for him to really live. Im not even going to talk about the reuse of the love triangle, that was enfuriating and honestly just a cheap way to give Steve something this season.
I don't think steve will die since robin is there in the show because the reason he is still alive is bec of him and robin's relationship .. if they didn't add her im sure he will die in 5th season but the creators said that season5 will be similar as season 1 and in the end of season1 we can see El saying goodbye to mike and her friends fighting the upsidedown.
