I don't even like this mod mostly because it's literally just a pallet swap of X and zero with a new capsule sprite. Though I do enjoy the effort put into it, I don't think it adds up to something like the Megaman X 3 zero project
What is very interesting about the conception of zero is that he has almost the same origin as Protoman from Rockman classic series and almost the same purpose in narrative. I know you all might know this, but the original concept for Megaman was a red character, but due to the NES color pallet limitations, they couldn't make a nice red character at the time and choose to go with a blue one instead.
Here I have some ideas to why Zero is missing his hair. Reason 1: Zero just said F-It and Tucked his hair under his helmet. ...(OR)... Reason 2: We all can stop whining about the lack of hair and focus on the mod itself. Like the time and effort it took to change and make custom sprites and dialogue and the video itself is very nice and smooth. Seriously Guys, why are we whining about Zero's hair and look at how amazing the mod is. Good it's like I'm talking to my friends about Sonic the Hedgehog and they're whining about his Green Eyes. THAT'S DUMB!!

What would've been actually interesting, is if they created a hack presenting a Zero's journey of discovering Sigma's fortress, with a more elaborate plot towards it, giving some little more depth to things that the main X journey didn't. (A neat idea for instance, would be if the first mission of the game present Zero hurrying up to save X, with Level Design changes accordingly). Gameplay-wise, Zero didn't had the Z-Saber back then, but considering how the overall plot states that Zero was stronger than X, it would've been a neat idea to, not only make Zero's dash, jump and etc faster and higher, but create a unique move-set to him, adding moves such as a "shoryuken", some "dash-punch" that destroys enemies (let's no forget how Zero dismantled Sigma's arm with his bare hands in that X4 flashback), a "Ground-hit" move and so on.

Zero on the other hand is wiley's best creation that is not only powerful but can rival mega man only on his base level but not when megaman powers up and keep unlocking his inner abilities/strength.

Probably based on MMX3's saber you get from Zero. If you have the Xbuster upgrade you can fire a projectile from it.
