Honestly this is my favorite KSE song. Don't get me wrong I love all of their music... but this was my introduction to them so it always has a special place
@@nolandavis2927 what a time to be alive as a teenager lol those were the good days, I also liked bands like Poison the Well, 18 Visions, Atreyu, Job For a Cowboy, FFTL, Chimera, Norma Jean, and a slew of others
You are a 100% right. These newer fans weren't around for the real Metalcore KE , Shadows fall, Unearth, god forbid, bleeding through. They think devil wears Prada is Metalcore. That is bitchcore. fuck asking Alexandria too
+Sd Ny This is the problem with fans in the metal "community" now. Bashing other genres just because they're not to their taste or some other underlying ridiculous reason. Music is music and the problem is elitists with their "that's not blahblahblah" mindset. Build a bridge and get over it already.
I love that soft quiet beginning and then its hits like a ton of bricks. Its just an adrenaline rush of heavy metal, coupled with Jesse's calming clean vocals and his monstrous(in a good way) harsh vocals make this song an absolute masterpiece.
Still love this song and its 2017, watching this and the other old KSE songs and I am 34! with a 17 year old, teaching him how to play this song but with the live style pinch harmonics.
I have seen KSE live at least 20 times by now over 15 years. This song as remained my favorite song by them, including both Howard and Jesse's versions. I think this song sums up the band and their music as a whole.
First KSE song I ever heard as a teen. That was like 2000 or something. Still my favourite and I will blast it til the day I die! Thanks for introducing metal in my life!!
To this VERY day 12yrs later, this song has such a hold on me. Quite literally minute I put this album on, it just sucked me in and from start to finish EVERY song was 🔥. Jesse has and always will be 1 my favorite singers/lyricist; the way hes able to combine/structure and deliver such POWER is truly amazing.
I remember the first time I started listening to KSE when end of heartache came out, then my mate told me I should listen the old singer and showed me this song and after that I couldn't stop listening to this album.. Howard did good things for this band but I've always preferred Jesse.
Exactly same story with me. End of heartache was good album cus it was already made complete except for when darkness falls. Howard is talented but did not fit this sound with his lyrics and is a poor writer in my opinion. I prefered jesse raw vocals in his prime. The albums post end of heartache were getting worse and worse and more generic. Why they would self title their worst album is still a mystery to me.
It blows my mind that this band changed my world 19 years ago. 2002 that's just crazy. They got me through my adolescents lol. I remember I saved my lunch money for two weeks to buy the end of heart ache. Such good times
not heard this in years. Think this came out my last year in high school, remember listening to it on a cd player with the headphone cable going up my sleeve listening to it in class.
I first heard this in 05 and i was depressed AF. It blew me away hecaue thenfirst time I heard Killswitch was in 03 "Fixation of the darkness" and thats all i knew. I woke from a drunken stuper when i heard it. Im almost 48 now .These dudes have some songs that really spoke of my life man its crazy.
These dudes are timeless. This song is just as good today in 2020 as it was way back then! Killswitch, August burns red and Trivium really helped me become a guitarist.
I rember hearing this band for the first time in 2002! It was on a metal compilation cd that I found in a magazine! The song was "Life to Lifeless" and it was just fuckin' awesome! I strugled a lot to buy their cd at that time (I live in Italy), but it was totally worth it! They really pushed metalcore out there!
I still remember hearing this for the first time at a friends place 18 years ago. I remember the exact moment and place like a photograph. This song not only introduced me to my all time favourite band but metalcore as a genre. This music will never be not amazing to me :-D
Not much people can understand the concept and the message in this song ,Your life was half wasted if you dont listne and feel Metalcore,2020 ? Here we go again, KSE forever
I've seen KSE live twice. Once with Howard and once with Jesse. This friday I saw them with Jesse and I got to say - awesome... They are an awesome band and always will be, even with a new lead vocalist. Yeah sure, Jesse cant sing the songs exactly like Howard but he can sing the songs with his own strong voice. The last song they played was Holy Diver - my favorite song ;)
The song that started them off. Can't believe there's only 1000 likes for this video, would love to hear them do this song again after so long. KSE!!!!!
you would be wrong there Howard was amazing hes the main reason i started listening to KsE and when i heard he left it was sad now i gotta get used to Jesse its crazy
@Eternal Rambler And you choose your left hand every night :D Men, women, doesnt matter. Either you're shallow, selfish and take advantage of everyone or you don't. Its that simple.
В 2005 году эта песня помогла мне. Я тогда с девушкой расстался. Заслушивался. Теперь прошло уже 15 лет. Звучит всё так же круто. А как эту девушку звали я конечно помню, но уже рад что так сложилось.
He actually was the original lead singer of Killswitch Engage before Howard took his spot (so that he could get enter a treatment center for his addiction). I would also recommend Alice In Chains and Pantera if you like Killswitch Engage. 😊
Glad someone else noticed too. I think the spinning wheel thingy represents the girls life, and when he finally realized shes not gunna save herself and he cant save her (maybe from a drug habit and/or suicide or something) that's why he cried and stopped the wheel with his hand, as you can see the girl laying still in the background on the red couch. He finally let her go so he can move forward even though its probably the hardest thing he has ever done. Reminds me of a chick I used to be close friends with back in middle school who got heavy into drugs in high school and passed away recently at only age 24 or 25. Shit hurts everyone around that person so much. I hadnt spoken with her in years. Also this is the first time I've ever posted something personal on the internet. Something about this song just brings it out. Much love
Anyone else still playing this in 2024? Never gets old
No I'm not
NEEDS MORE HOWARD!
This is.. Mikes Hard.. Lemonaddddde
Still listening. This was first song that i played to my son. He's 1,5 years old.
@hypocritex now I can't not hear it thanks haha
Honestly this is my favorite KSE song. Don't get me wrong I love all of their music... but this was my introduction to them so it always has a special place

Same
same here too
This is old school metalcore at it's finest right here.
Giant Squid I think normal people just call it metal...
***** People who love specific facts call it metalcore.

+Sd Ny Yep... fuck Asking Alexandria especially... just a bunch of talentless trash.

@chickengrenade6367 oh don't worry, I listen to it often
A banger with chills on the chorus... beautiful song.

same situation here, glad to find people like me, brings back memories

STILL LOVING IT in August 2024! Found them with this song and fell in love imediatelly! Greetings from BRazil!
I remember playing call of duty years ago to this song and changing the words to " this is my last hand grenade" what a sad act.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Classic gag.
Thank you for this.
That’s amazing 😂

October 2021 - still listening to this wonderful work of art!
First KSE song I ever heard as a teen. That was like 2000 or something. Still my favourite and I will blast it til the day I die! Thanks for introducing metal in my life!!
This song was the first one I heard of KSE, looks awesome in better quality, Jesse is still one of my favorite singer in this world, man rock on!!!
+Josh Igualador youre just a kid
Why would you think that?Angelus SangSang
I'd bet you im probably around his same age hahaha doesnt really matter though, they're just an awesome band!
holy diver was my first song when I was for covers of dios song
20 years later, this song is still epic.
One of the best metal songs ever made! And what a vídeo clip! Special meaning when 20 years ago you were in love!

This was the very first Killswitch I'd heard, back in the day it was always on my playlist...
What was I saying?.. This one never leaves my playlist 😎
Still unbelievably my favourite song it's just perfect mix of anger pain sorrow and dreamy

Went out the next day and got the album. Seen them 3 times
I LOVE their old sound. Jesse was such a fucking beast. & STILL is. Also, A LOT of love for Howard. Killswitch Engage will always be my favorite band.

Love KSE. Love both Howard and Jesse. Love that they are all buddies.
Saw these at London Astoria when I was 13, I think it was the same night Slayer played. Such great memories ♥🇬🇧
Is and always will be one of the greatest songs created!
Yuh they did something special there with their early stuff. Such a cool song really! A lot of memories
Still here listing 2024 😄😄😄
The beginning of this song is so pretty i have to close my eyes.
I remember when this song/video came out like it was yesterday. Still slaps too

I love it so much. I always regret when it comes to its end. I wish this song was longer...
This is absolute masterpiece. Good old days

This song better then any new material they make I wish they get back in they prime
The song that started them off. Can't believe there's only 1000 likes for this video, would love to hear them do this song again after so long. KSE!!!!!
Jesse's old vocal style can kill a throat. I'm glad he changed it and got more improved in his voice.
Good o'l high school days. Just takes me back to simpler times.
Most beautiful song I've had the pleasure of hearing
nothing can top their first 2 albums
When you realise that music like this is our generation’s “Dad Rock”…
Why can't everyone just sack up and face the fact that both Howard and Jesse are both awesome and do not out do each other! KSE for life
Glad to see people still listening to real music 👊
👊

At times I thought he looked like CM Punk...idk why I thought that
I cried when I heard this song live :')
THIS IS MY LAST SERENADE, I FEEL YOU AS YOU FALL AWAY. THIS IS MY LAST SERENADE, FROM YOURSELF YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY.

My favorite song of killswitch Engage
Listened to this one after a long long time. It reminded me of 2005-06.

Times goes so fast ans still good listening band over those years.
@ Joey Thompson Actually, Jesse wrote this song before Howard was in the band. Just thought I'd clear that up for you!
I love the fact that they're using an Ibanez UV777BK Universe guitar (7-string).
When i hear this song..... oh its just feelin lyk peace.........."its on your head!"
I remember seeing this when it first came out on Headbangers Ball!
Essa Música é foda, uma das melhores do Killswitch Engage !!!
Eu só mais esse vocal do que o atual
Bons tempos de Orkut e MSN
@@randerins e myspace ouviu muito lá..

This song is Awesome!! Love it💯🙌🏼
Well said I think they both are amazing vocalists.
Good ol days, begitu cepatnya semua berlalu
I first heard KSE with Jesse before he left and now that Howard left I'm very happy that Jesse is back.
Wow they were so young. I will always love KSE
The both have their own strengths, their own weaknesses. Exactly.
Favorite band since middle school
They look like a pop punk band in this video. lol. Sum 41 and New Found Glory mixed together.
haha... at least they don't sound like it... ;) jk I love Punk
And then the riff drops and you know they ain't fucking about.
How should they look??
And it’s really beautiful!
They do not look like painted clowns in the style of gothic metal 👹😂
It looks more attractive!😊👍

Can you explain??

How can people hate on a band that is coming back as it once in the beginning? I love it no matter what!
