All of your videos that I have watched so far have been very informative and helpful to me. Learning alot about the differences between pipes made of PVC, CPVC, PEX, COPPER etc., their different applications, the variety of mounting hardware available for these pipes etc... Lots of great stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. Diagram labeling self-contradicts. I'm assuming script is correct--makes more sense for connections. I went to 'Comments' for clarity--thanks for posting.

Thanks for the info. I need to dig drainage for my home gutters/downspouts around my property to get the water away from my foundation. Should I be buying DWV PVC with Schedule 40 PVC pipes to do this application. I will be digging down approx. 18" to 24" below grade to bury the pipes? Thanks in advance.

I accidentally plumbed my pool pump and filter with DWV, but have not turned it on yet. I assume I need to tear it all apart and do it over with the correct pressure rated parts. The pumping pressure is in the mid 20's. Any chance this DWV stuff could hold? Or just bite the bullet and do it all over.

Hi, thanks for the video. I bought 100' of 6" SDR 32.5 and it's wider than the SDR 35. Where can I get fittings for the SDR 32.5? Is there a way to used the SDR 35 fittings with the SDR 32.5 pipe? I bought a lot of the SDR 35 fittings and I can't seem to find any reasonably priced SDR 32.5 fittings...

*OK, so for my floor drain under the basement floor, that will take all the waste water into the public sewer line, I am thinking to put a 5 inches schedule 80 pipe. Cost doesn't bother me. Are there any drawbacks for this application? I just wanted to have a stronger and wider pipe under the floor so I, hopefully, never have to dig the basement floor to treat the broken or narrow pipe.*

I came across this video hoping to get some info regarding solvent welding PVC using something other than PVC cement. I appreciate you posting this video, but I couldn't get past the part at 1:23 when you say the exact opposite of what your diagram is showing. Also, you say Sch. 80 has a thicker "pipe"? You probably should have re-recorded those parts with a corrected diagram said "thicker walls". I'm sure there's more than one person who has never worked with PVC or CPVC who is more confused now than before they watched this video. TH-cam is already full of videos boasting how to do something "correctly", "the RIGHT way" or "the BEST way", yet it is obvious they are filming themselves doing something for the very first time. We don't need more videos like that.

40 schedule...be careful though...it flexes more causing a chance of blowing into sharp pieces! 1.5" is best psi...I had best luck with 2" for distance though...do not exceed 280psi I think...research & read the info (lettering on pipe)...do not use venting pipe! I used controlled air bursts instead of pressured relief valves but had luck with both...(ie 1.5"@ 5ft & 2"@4ft length) (3" really cool too)

    • @mclimoremd

Thick? Not really, schedule 80 is best bet behind metal piping which may corrode in the long run though. Copper, ABS, aluminum, & pvc very flexible compared to cast, iron or even brass. Mixing metals also causes corrosion.
