Thanks for listening to feedback and keeping the background noise! The mouse clicks, the space bar slaps and hearing the dog playing around is an absolute vibe. Takes me back to childhood and the family PC room.
Hey man, thank you for all of these videos. They are great and it feels like I get to hang out with you every evening. Also, I'm a fan of background noise. It makes it feel a little more personal and chill.
I do wonder if the non-Oath version with more small creatures might have better early game interaction. Im not convinced it's better, but this feels pretty slow for a cube combo.
Don't fully understand the Undermountain Adventurer over Sheoldred pick once we're already in Oath. I get UA is a better card, but our deck can't protect the initiative at all so it's most of the time just going to be fetch 1 land.
True, but I mean, it's not like Sheoldred is at all good in this deck either. At least UA has outs against control. Plausible to sideboard UA but I'm not sure what great card comes in..
LSV has said he doesn't like the conditional tutors (Mystical, Enlightened), but it's become a bit of a blind spot. When they're a second copy of the most important card in your combo deck, they're very good and important. Crazy to pass a p1p13 Enlightened Tutor for an unplayable.
In as far as how at that point there was still some world where he might have ended up white, sure, but realistically there is still no chance he actually would have ended up with it in his deck. Also it's probably only good here in the case where he ends up with Oath too, since it's not the kind of combo deck that just wins once it has Sneak in play. Really, what you want is a tutor that can get either part of the combo, and ET doesn't find big creatures to Sneak in.
I have to say, I liked the Draft-Theme. But I think you kind of not committed to it and tried something else in some situations. One question for me also is, does it make sense to hate draft in this team-draft if you are combo-playing very specific theme? Shouldn't that be reserved to drafts when you go for a more flexible deck, like a strong creature based deck? But the draws also were kind of terrible. Only lands or no lands. I liked that you nevertheless uploaded the game. :)
At 1:01:49 you are scrying Forest to the bottom saying you don’t want one, but isn’t any untapped land exactly what you need to cast Sneak? Next turn you are saying „at some point I would like to draw a land“. Did you specifically not want Forest, or am I missing something?
Did Luis miss that Triplicate Titan was in Pack 3 Pick 5, or am I overrating it as a potential sneak/oath target? It looks like a worldspine worm that he could actually cast every once in a while with the mana acceleration he had.
3 3/3s is a LOT worse than 3 5/5s, plus the initial hit is the same 15 vs 9 damage. Also 9 mana is still fairly uncastable. Like, look at the way the games played out. I don't remember the game where he had 9+ mana and wasn't either completely winning or already dead on board. It's also an okay target, but Worldspine is definitely better, as are Atraxa and Emrakul (or even Ulamog), so grabbing your 4th-best target isn't exactly how you want to spend your early picks. On the wheel, it's a reasonable pick, but by then he had 2 more great options so it wasn't that enticing.
I agree, this cube has so much quality removal that it almost never stays in play, or there is an answer for the threat in hand or before it attacks. Most threats also provide pressure and card advantage so you just fall behind every turn
@hang03 I don't think Oath and Survival play that well together. You are likely to have few creatures to make Oath consistent, so it is unlikely to have Survival + a creature in hand. And even if you do, it might not even be a significant upgrade to exchange one target for another
Wtf why is charming scoundrel in the cube?? That card is.... So fucking bad. Only reason people even use it in standard is cause there's no other options for mono red. Seriously, am I missing something? Or am I the crazy one...
@@makidiaz3894 can even be used as a discard outlet for Reanimator decks. Making a Treasure token is always nice, helps fixing some splash or just 1 mana you don't need in hand. sounds pretty good.
@@timelost9705 there's a whole lotta card quality between ragavan and 5 cent bulk rare. Anyway, these responses have shown me that I simply undervalued the modal properties scaling with the power level of the format. Thank you for the responses 😁
I was just thinking yesterday how in all the years ive watched vintage cube Ive never seen Oath win a game. I think creating a deck around Oath makes the deck worse, and Oath isnt even a good payoff.
You're taking damage to increase speed. He had multiple lands on top. His opponent is most likely going to keep adding to their board while he is stuck drawing those lands. That WILL lose the game. His line makes him die faster if it doesn't work out, but a better chance to turn the game around if he hits. It's brutal seeing them not pay off.
It's very important to move past bad draws and Library helps with that. Generally when you see more cards than your opponent you'll have the edge in the game. If you have shuffle effects or an already action packed hand then yeah it's probably not essential. But even then as long as you aren't playing against mono red you can just blindly pay 8 and move through the deck faster. It's not just paying 4 life per card, but setting yourself up to see an additional card with Library next turn. It improves card selection every turn in the future. Not a lot of people losing games but patting themselves on the back for not paying life for Sylvan cards.

I just really wish we could get a new outtro
Love that outro music.
Have to agree, keep it real and don't worry about a few funky sfx.
Worth it just for that Palantir flip!
"Cruel Ultimatum mana"
This comment made me go back and watch the cruel ultimatum topdeck for the nth time, still great!
Tom Martell must be happy someone else is getting the “hogging all the packs” beats.
You could argue traversing the Blind Eternities to just pop up somewhere in Zendikar could be considered sneaking.
Oooooo the lavaclaw and tortoise combo is the best. Glad to see it in the cute now!
I can never muster the discipline to pivot into oath and ditch a big bunch of picks from p1. Very cool draft!

Honestly I think Survival of the Fittest could have been a good enough discard outlet. It might have been just good enough.

Yay, for the alpha frog cube!
Loving the new additions!
Haven't finished the video so he might realize later, but lavaclaw + turtoise is inf
I think decks like this probably need some protection for their combos like blue counter magic, or maybe more discard like Thoughtseize. Tough games!
"What's it like to open these packs?" HAHAHAHA

47:08 that was disgusting, i love it
It's funny that lsv is using jedi mind trick to get back the breach. Good on him.
The maniacal laugh/chuckle is always a pleasure to hear
What a draft! That Palantair was great!
Wow that Round 1 opponent's deck. I think they watched a lot of LSV drafts and just did that 😂
And we know where the blue went.

At around 18:35 regarding the Faithless Looting: You opened it in your first pack :(
Lsv, we need to have these drafts with you having a drink of some sort always on you. Good sponsors too haha
I feel like I have this same exact thing happen every time I play sneak/reanimator.

Is that M4TT1 Kuisma who's passing to you? Fantastic to see him in places.
I think Oath would have wheeled, Snuff Out was probably the pick

Tom Martel apparently has been watching your videos, Luis 😂
is there a link to this cube?
This was truly a stinker of a deck 🙃
serious rough beats in the games
perhaps the deck wasn't amazing or anything, but I still believe it deserved better
It's time baby 🎉🎉🎉
Love ya LSV!
Paradox Engine when??
Sick mana engine that goes off with Emry, Loran, Welder, Urza,…

Oof, almost every game was either way too many lands or not enough.
I'm a simple guy. I see Sneak and Emrakul or Channel and Emrakul in the thumbnail, I click!
Every time you say Taiga, it reminds of this gem from PnR - th-cam.com/video/yrs4C33H7BM/w-d-xo.html
chunks of 15 🙂
Ah tracks ah
mana value of 15 from 2 lands? what am I missing here?
emrakul was the third card
wolololololo
I wonder what's up with the never ending daggers towards Tom Martell?
They're from the same local Magic scene, iirc. So it's jabs at a friend he's known for decades
why do you hate the sol lands so much?
You all know you never didn't read the updates huh?
