I kinda love that after drafting a million fun four color combo/durdle-y decks, when the chips are actually down lsv finds the lane with white wheenie 😂
Absolutely! And mono green before it, to get here! I totally enjoy watching all the combo shenanigans too, but for some reason, I really get a kick out of it when I see LSV go with the Ooga Booga strategies.
In the same vein, it's kind of interesting that a good chunk of his PT top 8 finishes were while piloting an aggro deck of some sort. He's a very good aggro player, just doesn't prefer to play it. 🤣
My "greatest" MTG achievement is my Game Day playmat that says "Champion" on it! I won it playing White Weenie, and the final game came down down to draw a land go, draw a land go... Until I lucked out and drew the bomb lol
That was Filaro's deck, right? Must've gotten cut off or something and ended up with some tough choices. Probably going for Tinker and couldn't find another target or something.
Love the content, been watching every day. Definitely prefer background noise to the random cuts to silence though - might need to reduce the gate on the mic?
You made a bunch of audio changes to get rid of background noise, and it really worked! But I think it’s a little overtuned; you’re getting the starts and ends of words clipped off sometimes. I keep checking to see if my video is buffering.
I enjoy the wide range of decks and playstyles showcased. Very, very few players are actually comfortable drafting any deck imaginable and doing it well. I know LSV prefers wild/broken/comboish decks, but he's probably about 95% as proficient at piloting the aggro and mid range decks as well, which is rare. I also appreciate the dichotomy of watching 'try-hard' mode where he forces himself to take two boring white cards vs the YOLO I'm drafting every artifact I see mode. It's good to see both sides showcased instead of just either 100% nonsense or 100% tryhard mode. TY for all the vids, they are most enjoyable.
im kinda wondering whether one could make a case for picking call of the ring over student of warfare here. ring bearing is pretty good in an aggressive deck, the one drop slot is pretty stacked already and there's marginal synergy with guardian scale lord and serra paragon
The sandiest of dogs would be proud of your final draft! Bonkers you were the only mono white player so all the best picks stayed available. Helped you had a great curve and answers for their early plays!
Never would have guessed Luis winning a tournament with a 'forgot to remove ramunap-single fetch' deck and mono white winnies with a mishra's factory beats... That was awesome.
one of my favourite things about vintage cube is that even with all the broken stuff going on, playing one or two good white creations a turn can really put in the work
Luis did you add a Noise Gate to your audio chain recently? If so your "close"gate needs to be a little more sensitive. I'd say lower the decibels by 2
I heard some audio issues where the first part of several words you said got cut out. from context we could figure it out. I didn't notice this issue on any other videos. love the videos, this is part of my daily routine now
One of my favourite creators to watch! It's incredible how you keep the talk flowing even in very dead moments and it's extra nice because I mostly listen to it while doing other things. So much more entertaining :D
110:10 perfectly showcases what separates LSV from the regular player. Playing around a 1% combination of cards instead of taking the best face-value play.
Did you start using a noise gate on ur audio? Noticed this and the last vid seem to have it. If so, would suggest lowering the threshold a few db, and lengthening the release quite a bit. Will make it sound more natural.
Hey, love the draft. Good job on taking down the 64 player event. One thing of note is that I feel like your mic was cutting in and out at the start or words and sentences. Though who knows, it might be something on my end.
It felt like LSV was a fair bit more focused than usual during this draft, particularly in some spots (probably because the stakes were higher). It would be great to watch him be always this careful and spot on.
Yeah, helped that the first deck was a disaster, but it looked like he played every single turn perfectly the entire draft. The only debatable thing was running out all three 1-drops instead of leveling up anything which did open himself up to a couple of possible blowouts. I know he hadn't seen either card yet, but still. Not even saying that was wrong, I just don't know that playing Thraben over leveling the Figure is even correct in a vacuum, let alone when you know they're playing red and cards that can 3 for 1 you exist.
Yea seems weird its mentioned when we initially see it. Then it looks amazing for the deck were drafting and it gets no mention and not picked for a filler card? Probably he just missed it, for sure a mistake.
I was amused to see that you were passed the entirety of the combo of Bolas' citadel, Aetherflux Reservoir, and Top, though it was not the direction you were going.
mono white cards that could have wheeled but didn't: winds of abandon 4 cards left balance 2 cards left hero of bladehold, wandering emperor 1 card left Luis saw no white cards he wanted but didn't get.
I’m so used to seeing Seth from MTGGoldfish open all his chests after a winning league, it’s kind of funny seeing Luis finish and just say “Thanks for watching!” I get it though - this guy doesn’t need chests to feel rewarded.
Am I dumb that Parallax wave seems awful to me? I've played with and against it, it just slows things down for a couple turns before all their stuff comes back
Gotta love it when your opponent pillages your hand and wraths away your whole board and then just mysteriously never casts another spell over like 5 turns
The drawback ends up being extremely relevant in cube, the format has gotten so fast and given the card quality of the cube the extra cards aren’t worth as much as it seems. Just look in this video the ring actively cost the opponent a won game.
Why did he let the mother of runes die at 24:00? It's not a lowly giver of runes. It's mommy, she can tap and protect herself. I was so excited to see her in play too
Oh yeah I forgot that's colorless interaction and mother does not protect from colorless. I'll be honest, I completely forgot colorless interaction even exists
I kinda love that after drafting a million fun four color combo/durdle-y decks, when the chips are actually down lsv finds the lane with white wheenie 😂
Absolutely! And mono green before it, to get here! I totally enjoy watching all the combo shenanigans too, but for some reason, I really get a kick out of it when I see LSV go with the Ooga Booga strategies.
the man knows how powerful being able to count on wheels is, and is unbelievably attuned to what signals he's passing

@@mattwilliamsonguitarhe did win a pTQ with scapeshift making zombies deck
Winning a 64-player Vintage Cube draft with two Legacy Cube decks in a row. Nicely done!!!
Best comment 😂 so trueee
The 5 colour Sundering Titan deck was ambitious to say the least.
That was Filaro's deck, right? Must've gotten cut off or something and ended up with some tough choices. Probably going for Tinker and couldn't find another target or something.
it looked as though everyone was fighting for the same cards. IE we saw absolutely no blue or black cards
That Sundering Titan did more work for LSV then it did for Op lol
Well played and congratulations on the result! I imagine somewhere out there, a proud Sandydog shed a single tear.
Love the content, been watching every day. Definitely prefer background noise to the random cuts to silence though - might need to reduce the gate on the mic?
Agreed, I find the audio cutoffs to be jarring
Yeah, also absolute silence when there is no speech is kind of uncomfortable.
Yep, I'm still working on it - will continue to adjust
That five colour deck getting all its lands desteoyed by its own sundering titan was brutal
You made a bunch of audio changes to get rid of background noise, and it really worked! But I think it’s a little overtuned; you’re getting the starts and ends of words clipped off sometimes. I keep checking to see if my video is buffering.
for example 38:08 and the next 30ish seconds a lot of sentences are cut off or not going through at all
Would love to see a draft record for the pod because it sure looked like it was messy for the rest of the table. All 3 opponents had strange piles.
That last game of the last match was something else , live by the topdeck die by the topdeck , such a good video.
Game two, that turn of events was so funny. Who knew Fiend Artisan drew 3 cards, added 3 mana, exiled your best threat and then copied it 😂
I love that the king of broken decks and combos trophied a 64 with Green ramp into mono-W.
Great video. Really did not expect the result - so many impossible comebacks and swings
Wow! That last game was an absolute rollercoaster!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
As a long time death and taxes player, that draft filled me with such immeasurable joy in my heart
So nuts this deck beat Toxic Deluge, Fire Covenant, and Fury! Well played!

Loving the draft videos LSV! The audio on this one seemed a bit choppy in parts. Hope to see more of these in the future!
yeah, I'm still adjusting the audio settings - thanks for bearing with me
Oh man that was so freaking sweet. That final game was intense!!!
That last game was great, I thought you were done for, but instead it was a great comeback! Hooray for Batterskull!
18:40 - Blade Splicer would give Mutavault first strike. But that is like 0,5% to even happen and also be relevant.
Microphone cuts in and out sometimes, or at least is weak at moments. Thought I'd point that out in case it wasn't recognized! Thanks for the videos
I think the gate on your microphone may need to be adjusted. Loving the content!
Sound has been weird since there are auto cuts in the videos. We often loses whole words, and some sentences' beginning and ending.
I hope you reconsider the audio filter! It's cutting your words, and the background noise was perfectly fine! Cozy even!
im kinda wondering whether one could make a case for picking call of the ring over student of warfare here. ring bearing is pretty good in an aggressive deck, the one drop slot is pretty stacked already and there's marginal synergy with guardian scale lord and serra paragon
I've always been so unimpressed with Student anyway

"Mono White Winnies" indeed! 😆
Look forward to watching this! I think you set your mic sensitivity too low, it cuts kind of abrasively :)
I wonder if he was testing it because of all of the surrounding elements. Dogs, kids, people, construction, lol.
It's a noise gate issue that LSV knows about since this was recorded before he got feedback yesterday
It’s a bit rough, my ears have an odd reaction to the sound going 100% out when he’s not speaking.
It’s funny, people always comment on the sound quality…I don’t even notice because I’m watching on a phone while cooking dinner and stuff.
@@jonathanrfisher yeah the sound wasn't bad. Just literally missed out on entire words 😂

The discipline to take Esper Sentinel over Ragavan in pack 2 was incredible. Master class on eating vegetables.

Hyped for this one after that bomb ass green deck. Atraxa is so sweet, having her in your picks changes how your deck plays entirely.
the dragon rage shredder had me dyin
Congratulations!!! Super happy for you! ☺ That last game was nerve racking!

Lsv channeling his inner sandydog
Great content, but was anyone else a little sad to not see Guardian Scalelord do any work?
Did anything fun come out of the 50 reward chests?
Vanilla taking down the other spicy flavors is classic. Great draft and congrats!!
Awsome! Now that’s how you draft a white deck! Great draft navigation, a real master at work!
Did you start using a noise gate on ur audio? Noticed this and the last vid seem to have it. If so, would suggest lowering the threshold a few db, and lengthening the release quite a bit. Will make it sound more natural.
Channeling the spirit of the sandiest of dogs to get the bag. What a great deck, love a fair white weenie deck with all the good hits.
This deck shows the power of a really well rounded weenie deck! Love to see it
Personally I could not resist pick 2 Gitaxian probe here.

Well yes and no, we watch him because he excels, but delivering drafts each day.. Let him have some fun and play distracted
@@nvanderhoff you are right, but some times the sloppiness... is real!
Nah I only want focused on academy
Missing the cradle that wheels and would be a great card 100% making the deck doesnt scream focus.
I have never "oof"ed louder than when that Fury came down in the last game.
Loved this series, really thrilling!
is there reason to take fleshgorger over mishras bauble? you have multiple flickers to combo w it and the black isn’t too hard to meet i think
its a 1bb card, its impossible to cast in his deck unless you make your deck significantly worse
1BB is too hard for this deck to reliably cast
Great draft, fantastically open lane
something happened with the mike sensitivity I think.
no consideration for craddle on the wheel? could be good with retroffiter or if you get stoneforge with high cost equipment?
I had the same thought. Mostly just surprised he didn't even mention it wheeling.
Yea seems weird its mentioned when we initially see it. Then it looks amazing for the deck were drafting and it gets no mention and not picked for a filler card? Probably he just missed it, for sure a mistake.
yeah, I should have taken cradle for sure
This is yesterdays draft. Funny that 5pm (UK time) when im cooking, im just waiting for LSV cube video to watch whilst i cook.❤
I was amused to see that you were passed the entirety of the combo of Bolas' citadel, Aetherflux Reservoir, and Top, though it was not the direction you were going.
God dang I wouldve been on full tilt after that treasure cruise/lotus/fractured identity turn... Vintage cube is something else
Caleb Ganon must be smiling somewhere right now. Congrats Luis!
last game was tremendous drama
mono white cards that could have wheeled but didn't:
winds of abandon 4 cards left
balance 2 cards left
hero of bladehold, wandering emperor 1 card left
Luis saw no white cards he wanted but didn't get.
That last game was so close, so fun!
I love pretending to play around Oath of Druids, it's my favorite 4d game.
This was awesome to watch! Great Job! The power of good old weenie taxes and death
I love the videos
I’m so used to seeing Seth from MTGGoldfish open all his chests after a winning league, it’s kind of funny seeing Luis finish and just say “Thanks for watching!” I get it though - this guy doesn’t need chests to feel rewarded.
I am liking these pod drafts much more than league drafts.
Love the vids as always. I'm sure you know, but I just wanted to let you know that you're having some audio issues through the vid.
fun watch, thanks for the great content!
I was biting my nails at the end! GGs!
What a beautiful deck and masterfully played!
Am I dumb that Parallax wave seems awful to me? I've played with and against it, it just slows things down for a couple turns before all their stuff comes back
Love it, white weenie vs sligh in the final :D
I’ve had so much anticipation for this video! Thanks for all the content
Gotta love it when your opponent pillages your hand and wraths away your whole board and then just mysteriously never casts another spell over like 5 turns
Rofl that match 2 was such a plot twist of a match 😂
I can't believe you won the last game after that Fury and FoW gg
„Ass the turn“
LSV, 2023, 53:12
Jokes aside, your mic needs some adjustments to its cutoff or something similar :)
Man that was a nailbiter.
Also review your mic settings. A bunch of words are getting cut off pretty often.
Gottem with the Sandy Dog special!
So the question is, is chrome mox also a "Mox at home"
I think it’s more Mox at Home than Mox Opal. At least Mox Opal makes 5 colors and doesn’t cost 2 cards.
Cradle is good in mono white in my experience
Congratulations, LSV. That was a pretty funny one.😂😂
I really wanted you to go for the call of the ring. You have so many small creatures, you would always have one to be your ringbearer
31:32 opponent had himself quite the turn there
Fiend Artisan got absolutely roasted.
Playing Sundering Titan in your 4 color soup deck seems insane😂
Well Folero had an Oath, but yes, it certainly worked out very poorly for them! 😆 My guess is that their draft didn't go great.
Love it! Always stoked to see you win Luis :)
Congrats. Mono white fair yet busted
One ring seems power adjacent in vintage cube.

GGs LSV!!
The Titan giveth, and the Titan taketh away
Fingers crossed for no missed first picks!
Or maybe…
Opponents had wacky decks and play lines, glad to see you capitalize and also enjoy some nice non-land top decks for once.
Is Call of the Ring not playable? Too slow? I figured this would be the perfect deck for it.
Luis, your noise gate is a little too aggressive, it's cutting your voice too much, gets a little distracting
