I am so relieved to hear that other people tear up listening to this. I went and saw them perform at the Sydney Opera House a few months ago, not sure how but managed to get seats in second row centre, so we were so close it was like having them perform in your kitchen.
It changed my life, I have never felt such visceral reactions to a musical performance.
So thank you, watching your facial expressions and gasps mirror my own has taken a weight off my mind.

Wow this really leaves me speechless. It's again music from another level. It's amazing to see that music is something divine.

They really are magnificent. Blake understands the ensemble, and he knows the voices of his friends and colleagues, and showcases them to perfection.

I’m speechless and teared up, too …. 🥹🥹❤️. My goodness …. thank you for your beautiful reaction to this almost divine piece with them, Jeff, and thank you for the suggestion🫶🏼. I’ll be listening to this before going to sleep tonight✨🙏🏼😌.

FYI: Just in case your listeners do not know. Blake Morgan also arranged the version of Caledonia you reviewed previously. He is the tenor with the plaid shirt and the only American in the group. As one of your listeners has pointed out, this arrangement has been nominated for a Grammy. They have also been nominated for a 2024 Grammy for the CD 'HOME" of Eric Whitacre's brilliant choral works - another VOCES8 2023 gem. Thanks so much for playing and commenting on these VOICES8 performances. I love your analyses.

Blake Edwards' dad was a professional percussionist who was, at one point, on the back line for Tina Turner. So Blake grew up on the inside of music.

I listened to this for the first time as soon as it became available on TH-cam. It reduced me to tears, which was unfortunate, as I was sitting at my desk in work at the time ...

Hahahaha…if you look closely I’m teared up when the performance ends.

That is no surprise@@StrateleStudios - in fact, I'd have been more surprised if you hadn't been. I am grateful that you confirm me in my prejudices about Voces8 - I have yet to hear anything from them that didn't stop me in my tracks.

There are no words sufficient to express how amazing they are. I heard them live and it was the experience of a lifetime. I don't care that I was in the back row of a huge church. I stood up and cheered at the end.

What is it about the magic of the human voice??
For a strange reason, I also had tears in my eyes at the end… as I always do when listening to Jacob Collier multitracking himself, or using choirs in his concerts.
    Beautiful reaction and comments, Jeff.
Those singers slowly coming on and off at the beginning and the end - sublimely suited to this arrangement.
Another phenomenal, but very different vocal performance: YEBBA singing ‘My Mind’ live, in a SOFAR production.
    Link below.
Thanks again, Jeff, for featuring this beautiful music and inspiring us ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s all acoustic AND live, -what’s there not to totally love and appreciate about it?! 🙏

This is information about Slumber My Darling which I copied from the Voces 8 site:
"While on tour here in Charlotte NC, we put together this video for Blake’s arrangement of ‘Slumber, My Darling’, which was recently released as a single, and is also on the GRAMMY ballot for Best Arrangement this year. "

Such a beautiful performance and, again, I loved seeing your reaction, then your analysis at the end.
The ending reminded me of lulling a baby to sleep, then creeping softly out once the little one's asleep. Just gorgeous.

Also, another Voces8 suggestion: Hear My Prayer by Purcell. You may have done this one already but if not, I think you will love it too.
