Let's set the scene
You are a prisoner in a laboratory, after a breach of containment, the gamers were released, you have run into a halo player trying to kill you with a neck snap, however, his lack of social skills results in him freezing up when you see him, you see a gmod gamer, who no-clips through walls to kill you. And then, in the dark hallway, you see a little boy with a iPhone, you approach him, concerned, you look at his screen. You see him in a match, he gets sniped, the kill cam shows the player default dancing. The kid lets out an ear-piercing scream. Your ears *bleed* as your ear drums rupture, you scream in pain. Suddenly, V-bucks come out of your mouth and grow in your skin. The last thing you see, before you die, is the kid flossing.

There's actually a story, in which a Dr, gave 173 a hug, 173 didn't break her neck because it turns out, that's what it always wanted, a hug. Then hired a sculpture to make 173 look more friendly.

It would be cool if there was a 50/50 percentage that you have the pestilence or don't so the plague doctor can help or hinder you.

But doesn't 049 see humanity as a whole as having the pestilence or something? Either way, I don't see it working out, because 049 gives the player a sense of urgency that wouldn't be present if he helped you.
And the chance increases or decreases depending on your difficulty.

Look dude, heres some tips: 1. When in the 914 (refinery) chamber, upgrade your gas mask and the s-nav on very fine and the s-nav will show the proximity of scps around you, and you get infinite sprint with the upgraded gas mask.
2. Close the doors behind you - 173 is lightning fast so if you hear random concrete dragging on the floor - thats 173.
3.when going into the camera room, crouch behind the left corner of the long desk and 049 wont see you. From there just wait till he leaves and look through the camera if he has left the hall.
4. When upgrading your keycards, be careful because 106 sometimes pops up from the ground near you so just run.
5. 714 is a green jade ring that if you put it on, it will make you invincible to everything (including 049) for a few seconds but your stamina will be practicaly out.
6. Make sure you grab 1499 (an old gas mask) so when 106 pops up, you can put it on and dont get scared - it will take you to another dimension (just dont look at the faces of the creatures there or they will chase you, kinda like 096) and then after a few seconds you can take it off (i believe this works with all scps except for 049) and he will be gone.

5. no, it doesnt make you 'invicible to everything', its just for protect from memetic effect, including 049's 'cure'. Unfortunely its pretty useless tho, there is so many memetic effect that you fight it without the 714, also 049 can take off your ring if you stand near him to long, im usually wear it in the 049 chamber
6. not just 106, it also work to the hostile SCPs, including 096, but most of them need a really long time to wear it.

SammyroxxGaming You could, but considering you are constantly managing your blinking rather than only when 173 is around and that tesla gates behave much differently than in the gmod version, also the computer being a legit threat to your survival at nearly all times, theres way more to consider than in the mp where most peoole are just oddly spazzing about the place.

There was an experiment where some researchers, in an attempt to kill SCP-682, make it view a photograph of SCP-096. SCP-096 breaches 682's containment and attempts to murder it. SCP-682 proceeds to kick 096's ass until it backs away into a corner, heavily wounded.
In another attempt, SCP-682 was introduced to SCP-173's cell. 682 is visibly frightened of 173, and maintains eye contact with it for six solid hours. In the one moment where 682 loses eye contact, 173 attacks it and inflicts considerable wounds in 682. 682 regenerates and resumes eye contact for another 12 hours. Twelve goddamn hours! Yep, 682 is scared of 173 alright.
Putting two and two together, it's safe to say that in a brutal, epic fight between 173 and 096, 173 would come out on top.

Safe: An anomaly that is easy to contain but not necessarily harmless.
As people have probably already told you, the classifications aren't based on how deadly it is, just how easy it is to contain. The foundation website uses the locked box metaphor.
