While Adam Sandler comedic films can range from kinda cute to truly tasteless, I gotta praised the man for his just go with it attitude! I mean he basically cast his friends to vacation and earn big bucks, that's living the dream. Then he occasionally gave us films like The Meyerowitz Stories, which felt so intimate that it punch you in the gut. The way he can go so low then set new heights for himself was just impressively human.
We used to play his tapes constantly in college. "They're all gonna laugh at you!" and "mop, mop, mop, all day long" were just a couple favorite quotes. 😄
The critics don't count. Who among us doesn't love this guy ?? He puts out mostly entertaining stuff and I've always heard he's a super good guy and success and money never went to his head. Gotta love that !!

FUN FACTS! I am a fan of 8 Crazy Nights. But my all time favorites were his albums which I didn't see covered in this video. One of the albums had the Hanukkah Song, which contained the line that the title "8 Crazy Night's" comes from. He's an underrated musician and writer. I didn't know he was born in Brooklyn, but I know he attended high school in New Hampshire with my aunt. He must be a fan of Asian-American food. His family attended my family's Chinese Restaurant, which was depicted in 8 Crazy Nights and kept the restaurant name. Another great restaurant (it used to be located off I-90, in not too distant Chicopee, Massachusetts. Probably on his drive between NH and NY as a stand-up) called the Hu Ke Lau provided the name for the Hawaiian Diner where his character meets Demi Moore's character in 50 First Dates.

Never been a fan of his comedies, but I still remember the chills I got when I first saw him in Punch Drunk Love, only to see him perfect his craft in drama to the point where I can't wait for his new movie Spaceman to be released. Amazing actor. And the Oscars can go and... Well you know what I mean.

Great summary, though, you blew past one of the best movies of the last two decades. It bears being mentioned that Spanglish was not only one of Adam's best roles, it was one of the best films in regards to story, editing, music and casting, ever. Any film and production school should use Spanglish as a premier example of how to make an absolutely amazing romance comedy movie.
I was in the background of 2 of his movies just so I could get the chance to meet him, and I did on each set. Grown Ups and That's My Boy. I haven't watched either in a long time and they aren't my favorite of his, but it was a great opportunity because I grew up watching his movies and seeing him on SNL. Almost every Summer or Fall there would be an Adam Sandler movie and we listened to his CDs. I told him that Reign Over Me was my favorite performance of his and he smiled and said "thanks man". He even had his family with him, plus so many other people I'm a fan of were there, including Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, Maria Bello, Salma Hayek, Colin Quinn, and of course Rob Schneider. Also RIP Norm Macdonald.

I hope you touch on his music a little!
Adam has some great movies, whether the critics think so or not and seems like a such a sweetheart and a good friend for how he keeps making sure his friends eat. He never leaves them behind LLAS!
I love the early stuff and his serious roles. 8 crazy nights is a perfect love it or hate it fare. The songs are silly and memorable and the old coach, Whitey I think, is super sweet & its hard to find anything irreverant about Jewish holidays. If hes having fun taking trips with friend and getting paid, more power to him, but I dont really watch any of those films. Always glad to see more stand-up and songs from the Sandman. Bulletproof is a fun buddy cop movie and Damon wayans is great in it.
Thank you for mentioning the Netflix comedy special ‘100% fresh’. I really enjoyed it but the last 10 minutes was so powerful with his sweet tribute song to Chris Farley. I broke down when he tells his kids that Farley is funnier than him
I related to Adam Sandler when I was 13. By the time I was 15 I found him immature and vulgar. By the time Tom Green got to be a big star I was already a mature grown up of 16.
Sometimes critics need to learn to shut up. How many movies were trashed like waterboy, and them they became sort of VHS classics. The movie is dumb as F but it has a magic, its fun. Period, not everything has to be oscar material FFS. Same as little Nicky, stupid as fuck. But fun, isn't that the whole point.
Huge Adam Sandler fan, ever since his early "Remote Control" days. Even his bombs like "The Ridiculous Six have hilarious scenes (the hanging scene). Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were an integral part of my formative years as a 90s kid... I must have seen both movies 200+ times each. What sticks out to me most now tho...? Gary cooper was in man of the west 1958 with lee j cobb royal dano jack lord
LEGENDARY RUN. HE PUT ALL HIS FRIENDS IN HIS VIDEOS. LOVE THIS GUY 4 MAKING ME LAUGH😂
Anger management is an under appreciated classic

We used to play his tapes constantly in college. "They're all gonna laugh at you!" and "mop, mop, mop, all day long" were just a couple favorite quotes. 😄
The critics don't count. Who among us doesn't love this guy ?? He puts out mostly entertaining stuff and I've always heard he's a super good guy and success and money never went to his head. Gotta love that !!
Just because he’s a nice guy Dosent automatically make his movies good. He has a lot of good movies but the money has gone to his head. Doing lazy boring unfunny movies for money
I don't. I'm not a critic.
Adam is great for one reason, he's always done the films he wants to do. Sometimes times they don't pan out but when they do they're gold. Hate him or love him, the man is an underrated actor and comedian.
@@edwardhewitt9229 You remind me of someone that would have hated the Beatles for no reason other than just because everyone else loves the Beatles.
The world loves Adam, I have always watched him and my whole family, he is known in the most hidden places on earth. Adam for ever
He was absolutely amazing and underrated in "Spanglish", "Funny people" & "Reign Over me"
Reign Over Me is his best movie in my opinion. I genuinely think he's hilarious in his comedies, but he absolutely nailed Charlie Fineman.
And Punch-Drunk Love, (2002) from Paul Thomas Anderson. That’s when I first realized he had dramatic talent.
Funny People was just awful....Its really hard to get through its like an hour too long and everyone in it is just an asshole

Gary cooper was in blowing wild 1953 with Anthony Quinn
Growing up he was my favorite and till this day idc where his career goes I think he was dying down but redeemed himself with u cut gems it was literally a masterpiece but ima love this dude forever
I remember listening to his cds in high school and laughing my ass off. I've always had a place in my heart and funny bone for Adam Sandler.
You have a point there, I've listened to his CD's too especially on a few long trips. I didn't realize how big an influence he's been in like my whole life lol, I hope he can continue to put out some greats for years to come.
They're all gonna laugh at you, Noooooooo!
was creeping up on 1 year after my divorce when The Wedding Singer came out. I love this movie so much. I cried at the end when he sang to her on the plane.
YES!!! One of my favourite people and actors!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
He’s fantastic and funny

Can honestly say I love probably 92% of all his work and can fully quote so much of Billy Madison
Signed a deal with Netflix and is still doing his thing a a more leisurely pace before eventual retirement. The man has nothing left to prove. He has had an awesome career and made one of my personal favorite movies; Click.
@Bailee Malaya Yeah, mr. Deeds is a pretty good movie and I always liked it growing up.
Best joblo wtf video iv seen. Yal did a great job given Adam Sandler the props he deserves.
I'm a fan of a lot of Adam Sandler's films, especially his earlier work.
ADAM SANDLER IS MY CHILDHOOD!!! This is my second time watching this video and it came out a hour ago
It was Drew Barrymore, not Demi Moore, but I appreciate the fun facts all the same. Thanks!

This was a well written, well edited episode. The fact it has under 100k views should be a crime. Well done man well done
I haven't enjoyed his comedic films since the longest yard, Zohan was okay. Uncut gems and reign over me were amazing though.
Over the years I really gained an appreciation for Adam Sandler the man and the actor, because the talent and humility are there.
Bulletproof is underrated
This was hands down the BEST "wtf happened" yet!
Thanks so much!
@@taylorjamesjohnson8326 you very welcome! Keep up the good work!
I still have faith that Adam Sandler can make a good film. Uncut Gems proved that
👍👍👍👍. Same.
He is talented. He just needs something that can utilize it.

Gary Cooper was in the wedding night 1935 with Walter Brennan Ralph Bellamy sig Ruman
This is my favorite one yet you guys did and you nailed it at the end. Nothing wrong we rewatching some the of classics.
I grew up in the prime Adam Sandler years so I was a fan of ALL of his early hits and was so sad when he took such a steep dive. Uncut Gems BLEW me away and its a crime he wasn't even nominated.
Uncut Gems is a great movie
Damn this was awesome. The conclusion in the end almost made me tear up just thinking of all my childhood memories adams movies gave me. Good shit💯
There is not an Adam Sandler movie that I don't like. Perfect for turning your brain off for 90 minutes and just laughing. Soul food in movie form.
have you seen spanglish?? its bloody awful its the only film i dont like of his
Makes one want to go get out all those Sandler DVD.
Thanks for sharing.

Seems like an amazingly grounded person, better track récord than most.
I clicked IMMEDIATELY and left the other video.
@Ashley Cataleya I honestly didn't like that movie, my son however did.
Awesome story. A truly good guy who never let his success change him. Good on you, Adam.
I love all of his movies. This guy is freaking hilarious.
The writing in these is spot on as always!
Any chance we can get an episode for Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder or Natalie Portman? It's mostly just because I wanna see this guy talk about Black Swan
@DK Lounge also Naomi Watts too
Winona Ryder please. I absolutely adore her.
I’m normally a True Crime girl, but have been feeling mentally tapped out from the dark stuff. Found this series and now I’m binging 😂 this is the third episode I’ve seen in a row and I’m OBSESSED with Adam Sandler (like still know every single word to The Goat Song level) so I can’t wait! I hope you touch on his music a little!
One of most funniest actor ever.
Adam has some great movies, whether the critics think so or not and seems like a such a sweetheart and a good friend for how he keeps making sure his friends eat. He never leaves them behind LLAS!
Little Nicky is one of my favorites, the soundtrack is fuckin' awesome
Gary cooper was in cloak and dagger 1946 with Robert Alda Marc Lawrence Patrick o Moore
Great video guys! I love these. Makes you appreciate why you know who these actors are. They didn't just happen to get there.
Thanks!
"Its all in the hips!!" 😂
Punch drunk love, and Uncut Gems are 2 of my favorite movies ever..
Adam will always have fans that'll watch whatever he shits out, cuz we love him and always will.
Critics are by their nature paid to not shut up, it's their job. Ik ik, stfu
It will be a dark day for mankind when Little Nicky is looked back on as a classic.
@@CornishCreamtea07 yeah, vhs nostalgia. Is that better ?
Huge Adam Sandler fan, ever since his early "Remote Control" days. Even his bombs like "The Ridiculous Six have hilarious scenes (the hanging scene). He''s amazing in "Uncut Gems," and in my opinion, even better in the completely overlooked and underrated "The Meyerowitz Stories." Long live the Sand-Man!
remake of "the longest yard" was terrible. one of those 70s classics that can't be remade. growing up in the 80s, don't mind seeing something with a setting of that time. "the wedding singer" was ok. soundtrack brings back memories.
Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were an integral part of my formative years as a 90s kid... I must have seen both movies 200+ times each.
What sticks out to me most now tho...? Everybody's parents HATED Adam Sandler movies! I DISTINCTLY remember my stepfather constantly telling me "Adam Sandler is an idiot. Mark my words, NO-BODY will know who he is in 20 years."
Now Adam Sandler is one of the richest and most successful people in Hollywood! Yeah, his catalog is basically 35% solid GOLD and 75% complete and absolute GARBAGE, but when Sandler is on, he's ON!
Was Grandma's Boy really not mentioned in this vid while Strange Wilderness was?? Lol, I actually think Strange Wilderness is totally underated and absolutely hilarious but Grandma's Boy is one of the funniest movies released in my lifetime...
Grandmas boy is criminally underrated as a comedy
Grandmas Boy is an exceptional movie, comedy and otherwise lol. It's just a flat out GREAT movie. They don't make them like that anymore, unfortunately. Too much "political correctness" and other baloney that gets stuffed into movies now.

I love his earlier comedies. Not much of a fan of his glorified "Friends and Family Vacation" movies. Although Pixels and Uncut Gems were fantastic.
All I know if that he has absolutely MADE my childhood and continues to do it. I don't care what the movie is about. If it has Adam in it I'm watching it because it's guaranteed that I will love it. Yes he may be a repetative actor but for me, it works everytime!! That's one of the things I love about him, I can imagine the hatred from critics is just something he expects. It doesn't matter what uptight people think of a movie... as long as his fans are happy. He's had so much hate from them yet he has millions of fans worldwide.. that tells me the critics are doing something wrong... keep doing what you do best Adam. We love and appreciate everything you do. You're a fantastic man, never let anyone bring you down or change your style, it works for me and millions of other fans. ❤❤❤
The “critics” are obsolete at this point. Not worth mentioning.
