They want to disturb my Ify... The truth is that your cooking style is relatable to us. We like you like this. 70% of us cook like this. Don't feel pressured to do what you are not comfortable with.
I wasn't the one that made those comments however, please permit me to respond to the comments. I think the basic reasons for such comments may be: 1. Wearing an apron is just to protect your dress from getting stained during cooking. 2. Covering your hair with a scarf is to prevent falling hairs from getting into the food you are making 3. Cutting your finger nails is to prevent you from getting injured when kneading, give you a better grip of kitchen utensils and also to prevent food particles from getting stuck in your finger nails. I think these are just kitchen ethics and safety measures 😊😊😊
You're right but realistically, if you wear long nails, you can't cut it because you'll be in front of the camera. Lastly, even chefs don't wear caps unless they're in their restaurants else in videos such as these, it's cool. The apron isn't a big deal either. But your points again are valid.
Meaning that she wouldn't wear nails at all nah... Cus she must cook almost every day.... She is clean, nails neat and so on... Do you wear apron , cover head and cut nails,?
Those are excellent counter questions. Because people in their homes don't cut their nails and don't put on headscarves when they're cooking in their own kitchens.
I do wear a bonnet to keep my hair out of the way. I don’t don’t tell others what to do in their own space. It’s to each individual own. Everyone’s background is different….
@@cecestyme8014 Correct. Everyone's background is different. I've been in so many different homes while people prepare food. Virtually all of them are relaxed...they trust their own environments, food and tools to be clean and safe.
I totally agree. Do what works for you. There's people that are chronic complainers. Nothing anyone does will EVER be good enough for them. I stopped listening to opinionated people years ago. Also I have eliminated those people from my life 😊.
Well Ify, people appreciate you, that's why ...and seeing you as a Kitchen Guru, they think you should bring on the table/ exemplify all the etiquette required in the kitchen from the looks to the prep to ensure food safety and such like. No jokes, but in a meal once prepared by a chef we engaged as a family for an occasion, we found a full finger nail in the food. We've not used that Chef again, no never. So well, I think it's more from a positive perspective when such comments are made. Well done Ify for your lovely recipes.
I really hate how people like to dampen the spirits of other people. One thing I learnt was even if you drink water, people will still complain that you're chewing too loudly. The issue is in real life, 99% of those criticising you dont have anything going on for them like you do. I cook without an apron or headcover and definitely wear long nails because I'm comfortable cooking with it. Ify we love you and appreciate what you do. Ify, I followed the instructions on the milk soaked red meat and cooked for my husband, the stew is delicious 😋my hubby asked what I did, thanks for sharing.
In most homes in my home country in west Africa, women dont really wear apron to cook . They will wear a house clothes to cook and change to a nice one to serve and eat with the kids and husband. That is the way a grew up. Apron was more like a decoration in the kitchen
Even if I wear aprons or tie scalfs in my kitchen, it is none of my business telling someone else to do same. Do what you are comfortable with. We love you. ❤️

Just do what works for you lol. Am I supposed to take off my nails because I’m cooking 😂. Only thing I’d be concerned about is my hair getting in my food though
Hi Ify, I have watched very many of your videos, and I must say you are an amazing cook. Well, personally not putting on a scarf or apron or not covering the hair as you make food for your family is totally fine. However, I have noticed that, if the hair is not covered, it tends to carry the aroma of the food you are cooking, imagine if it's a native soup, omo!...lol, you won't like the smell of the hair later after it has mixed with sweat .Also, depending on the hair, you might want to cover because of hair particles entering the food. So, yes, I think it's idle to cover the hair. But for nails , depends on if you can handle long nails, and you cook neatly, because of germs that can be harbored under the nails. Then for the apron, I don't think it's necessary...lol, the cloth will still be dirty regardless, except of cause you need the apron pockets!...lol
You are awesome the way u do things ...i looove ur cooking and how you explain it .❤....it's about food not you....those who wear are chefs at a restaurant not home...
I don't wear an apron or scarf when cooking. Honestly speaking I have not seen anything inappropriate if you wear it or not, what works for Mrs A might not work for Mrs B. Just be yourself and keep cooking good meals.

It’s crazy they are saying all these things. Do they cut their nails or wear an apron. Or put on hair ties at home. I don’t but I have a restaurant and I wear those items because it’s a regulation that do so. But the health department has never asked me to cut my nails, or wear an apron . Just hair nets.. that’s it so I see nothing wrong with your environment and I enjoy watching your videos.. continue the good job. May God continue to bless you

Keeping your nails short and clean is a proper thing to do so as avoid Bacteria that are locked in your nails from getting into your meals.
