    I know you have said in other videos that it is a very new concept in South Korea for citizens to not pour oil and grease down the drain but I also watch a lot of videos from the UK and they have same problem all the time too. I know in Canada, my grandma used to pour the grease down the drain as well. People all over the world pour grease down the drain no matter how advance the plumbing/sewer system is. I think it is mostly a generational thing and I hope that as younger people grow older, it will be very very rare for grease and oil to be dumped in the drain.

    • @Hasenfeffer1
      @Hasenfeffer1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I’m 50 and have never poured grease down the drain and neither did my parents. The grease always go into a can and you wait for it to gel up and throw it into the trash. It really seams like a common sense thing to me.

    • @QuimBeelivingstone
      @QuimBeelivingstone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Hasenfeffer1 same but in my experience, older generations pour it down the drain and then pour boiling water down the drain. You cant obviously do that with any PVC pipe drains and shouldn't do it anyway but that's what the quite older generations do, in my experience anyways

    • @Jillas666
      @Jillas666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuimBeelivingstone I once poured oil from canned mussels down the kitchen sink drain, thinking that oil isn't the same as grease (it didn't freeze in the fridge), and it would be fine, I quickly realized what I've done and I started googling what to do, I read about the boiling water advice, so I did that, but after I did it, I realized that boiling water could damage PVC pipes, so I opened the tap and started to wash it off with some warm water. To my luck the pipes somehow survived that, but the sink trap didn't, it started leaking and got to be replaced after... Not sure how this could actually happen to me, it's like I have made one bad decision after another... And yes, I'm 30 years old. =/

      @@Hasenfeffer1 My grandparents would never throw the grease away. Waste of good grease. You could spread that shit on a sandwich and eat it. You could reuse it while cooking, etc. How healthy it was, questionable at best, but I don't know their cooking was astoundingly good.

      The camera was going through water at the end, so there is a low spot in the drain. The oil would stick to the top of the pipe as it hardened. It would just build up layer by layer as they saw. It wouldn’t take much oil each time to build up thick over time.
