10:30 Great work on the close up of that excavator with the claw attachment dispensing fresh new ties along the right of way. I've always wanted to see how those kind of machines work 👍👍.

It was a rough week, and so it's been extra nice to catch up with a bunch of Grab Bags. This one was great--the rainbow, cat-and-deer meeting, and lightning made me smile. Thanks again!! 🌹
It probably was PRR originally. Those cars do not have air brakes. They have an airline that is straight through. The brakes are hand-operated only. That type of scale car is supposed to be the last car of a train, it was run behind the caboose when cabooses were used. The modern scale cars are modified flats with an engine to operate a hydraulic pump to lower and lift the test weight that is carried in the car and is lowered onto the scale rails so the test weight is separate from the car.
I thought it was part of a GP-38 pusher experiment that was torn apart heading back to Altoona shops where the NS horse doctors could conceive some new environmental friendly remotely controlled unit.
I've been watching a private storm-chasing livestream by Daniel Shaw in this area and there have been some amazing storms with huge hail, spectacular lightning, and truly indescribable cloud structure. While we ride along as "passengers" looking for storms to watch, I'm looking for trains. Last night, we were in Clovis and I saw plenty of huge freights waiting their turn at the signals. There's nothing like train-chasing in that area right through to Strafford, TX. On an actual tour I was on many years ago, the BNSF freight traffic was an amazing sight all of its own with freight after freight chasing each other on the tracks that paralleled the highway we were on. At night, the signals can be seen all lit up and progressively go from green, to flashing yellow, to red.
man I wish I could have seen how they moved that machine that was grabbing the ties from the cars and putting them on the ground, seen how they moved it from car to car...
I can't even work out what it is? It kinda looks like a SD9 or SD18 with a fuel tank removed, but then the bodywork looks off, as does the cab. Something newer made up to look like an early SD? then why leave daylight under the frame and ruin it, or have the cab windows spaced too far apart. It looks a BIT like a DRS-6-6 but then it doesn't. Also it seems to be a Norfolk & Western Livery that says Norfolk and Southern.

I wonder if they fit within gauge when the arm is folded down for moving, or if they have to have a careful route plan.

Loved the way the Brandt OTM Tracker moved on its own tracks. Rest on the grab was also grand as always.
This is 8 years old, but still a great video from the OTM maker, enjoy. th-cam.com/video/rK2gzbVyUbU/w-d-xo.html
Deer says to itself “ don’t cross in front of black cat --could be bad luck”. Lol. 😂

wow that was awesome seeing that machine dropping the sleepers at the side of the tracks
8:51 Just for anyone's information, that two axle car is a Scale Test Car.
My question exactly 😅 thank you!!
@@alexanderlennington4382 You're welcome 😁.

That first ballast train I probably watched leave the St Cloud MN yard as they fill Herzog trains daily with ballast from the granite quarrys
Love those Herzog cars and the Auto Train, the longest passenger train in the world.
Thanks gain, love the new camera at Revelstoke
Beautiful rainbow and lightning storm!!!! ⚡⚡⚡⚡🌈🌈🌈🌩️❤️📹
Between the older-model car and Mother Nature's bit of colour, this collection was very interesting!

That was cool watching the Operator unloading ties on the fly like that! How does the thing get to the next gon?
Walks across just the way it walks on the cars!

Is it only in our town, Or do folks on Bikes think they’re immune from obeying the law where this was filmed also ?
Can anyone in VR-land tell me why CHEHALIS has so many gorgeous vintage automobiles passing near the VR camera??😮

I bet the train company gets alot of call about the LORAM. Normal people that dont know, would think something was wrong with the train.
I always love those grinders!
Is anyone else surprised at the number of airplane bodies?
@@T_Hoog I always wonder where the wings come from...
2:00 another of Tucson's young railfans.
Scale test weight car. That car is at least 50 years old.
May I say there is no shortages of dummy's. the new camera in BC is cool. you need one in New Brunswick.
Anybody else out there think that coverage of people waving to the camera is a waste of otherwise good train watching time?
