Stumbled on to the Railfan site with the heavy snow a while ago. Was keen to see the town in daylight and away from the level crossing. Then found this - Amazing video and so well done. Regards from Perth Western Australia.

Found this video as I was watching the Revelstoke Museum rail webcam, this came up as a suggestion. OMG , this is gorgeous!!! I really liked how you followed the train tracks, do you ever chase trains with the drone...we were saying how cool it would be to follow one into town. Many thanks for the great video. :)

Revelstoke is a historic railway town at the western edge of the Columbia Mountain / Rocky Mountain System in eastern British Columbia. It is noted for its high mountains, deep valleys, and the lush inland temperate rainforest that occurs throughout the region. The scenic Rogers Pass, the westernmost of 2 passes along the Trans-Canada Highway through these mountains, starts east of town, Canada's Glacier National Park, established in 1886, is located around the highest part of the pass, smaller Mt Revelstoke National Park is right above the town, with a road to the meadows and lakes at the top. The quite new Revelstoke Mountain Ski Resort is on the edge of town and has the highest vertical in North America - likely the highest in the world outside Europe - and is planned to grow larger horizontally too, it is noted for its deep snow which occurs in this region in winter. The river in this wonderful video is the Columbia River, its upper half is in Canada and its lower half is in the USA, it is the longest river on the western side of North America, although much if it is now dammed for flood control and power generation. I have visited Revelstoke since the 1970's, and was always impressed with it as a strong, sensible, tranquil society, it is a real hidden gem of nature and people.
