Awesome video. Pretty new to the hobby and had no idea you could change the connectors on a Traxxas. It had put me off buying one, but now I have to take a look.
You can change the connectors on anything practically. Personally I’d skip buying Traxxas, I’ve had super bad luck with them breaking every time I take it out. I actually ended up selling it and picked up an 8s outcast, another 8s Kraton and an Axial scx6.
Have mine and god damn this things a beast..freaking stripped the gears the second time and just regularly doing speed runs ( stock geared) i suggest as well along with other mods is the traxxas Bluetooth link that's connected to your tqi transmitter. It will connect to your esc by adjusting the throttle, brake, trim levels all through the app from your phone. So far it's been saving any more headaches and plus my driving skills are different as well. I don't bash like i saw other TH-cam vids by jumping off with double flips and going over 30-50+ long jumps. I'm more of a speed demon and just love the casual off roading kicking up the dust..will add mods later. Thnx for mentioning the fans. Will get that next upgrade. 19:11

I ran the xrt with my son, using the 5000mah 4cell batteries. Ran those doing so light bashing on some mulch hills. Swapped those when they ran low to the 6700mah got 10 minutes run time when power cut out. Had the temp light flashing so we packed up and went home. I don't have these problems with the hoss or my rustler so I was wondering if cutting a front grill would help with airflow since the motor fans are a bit under powered?
In all honesty I would beef up the fans on the vehicle. When i swapped my system I put hv fans on and it stays pretty cool. I would tell you the get rid of the stock V8 fans, look up Rocket 35mm fans and Powerhobby aluminum fan mounts And replace them. The stock system is underpowered and builds up heat. The stock battery trays arent very good,i changed mine out with some other brand that has velcro straps works much better &now i can fit any size lipos i want

It’s alright. Kinda lame out of the box. Underpowered (compared to an rtr outcast/Kraton) needs shock tuning, new Servo and more power imo. Plus, just from that run I bent a cvd, which I just saw this morning. So, it’s good but… not great at all.

With the Bluetooth tqi module you can adjust some of the parameters of the esc. But you can do that through the esc. The bt adapter is for setting button function and steering etc. wasn’t very helpful when I had the sledge. The stock XRT system is very underpowered compared to a Kraton or Outcast. That’s why people swap out the esc for the HW Max6 because it provides much more power than the stock esc ever could even with changing modes. I tried race and sport modes and there was no difference. I will honestly tell you, swap the transmitter/receiver/esc and keep the stock motor just eliminate the heat sink and throw better fans on it and it’ll handle completely better. Just to get this thing to compete with a Kraton costs too much money. I need to upload my videos to show everyone the truth about these vehicles.
Stock system? Speed gearing? Aftermarket gearing? It def doesn’t do it on the supplied gearing. The stock system is terrible. The max 5 was leaps and bounds better on stock equivalent gearing. But thanks for the comment and view!!

You didn’t even hit 60mph in the video. The XRT can’t do 60 out of the box. Look at other TH-camrs. The XRT is way too light for 12s and’s I run multiple 12s systems in multiple vehicles. The biggest one would want to go with usable power is the max5 800kv. Not trying to hate, just being you back to reality. If you’re in Southern California, I’ll let you race my Raptor and it only has 500hp and see where it’s at. Hell, I’ll let you race my Kraton 12s see where it’s at. Good try on the video though, clean rig but I stand by my original reply to your statement
@@KamikRC it went 60 before I hit a curb. The XRT Hang with the ram TRX havoc edition, I beat it, it was in the lead but I hit a curb twice. It’s been clocked at 66 before. The XRT goes 60 out of the box I’ve clocked it in my truck 3 times when I was driving it and controlling it at the same time when street racing the ram TRX havoc edition the one I’ve been dreaming about the one it beat it in my dream. Now I did it for real life. Ima do it again one day my dream came true I was almost at full throttle it was going 54-55mph. It went 61mph. But it was going faster than that. I clocked it on my truck at 65mph if you put a 26tooth pinion gear. It will hit 70mph

I’m just truthful with all the vehicles I drive. So far the XRT is decent. Deff needs some love from out the box.
The XRT is amazing. I like how it ignores the speed limit and has no trouble going over the speed bump.

I love my XRT. But mine has some upgrades that make it a monster like the XLX2 and 1100kv 5687 HW motor. 30/47 gearing. Double backflips no problem 😂

You just need to turn the punch mode all the way up on that thing and it will do backflips all day long. They have it turned down from the factory

Traxxas completely Lacks power stock.
It’s completely different now. Handles better and has more power. But still, doesn’t compare to a Kraton 8s EXB

Put the stock xmaxx tires on this truck and it will do backflip. Also check your servo as well, it might be broken

170-175 is perfectly acceptable temp so you’re way below acceptable ranges.
They are acceptable after a pack or so. Not after 5 minutes. On the stock system I couldn’t get through half a pack without therming out.
My HW systems barely get to 150 after a full pack. I monitor it multiple times during a pack.
Change the tires and you will back flip easy.
Tried that, barely flipped. So, the esc/motor was swapped And preformed 10x better than the stock system ever could.
