Waou that hit me this interview with your mom. That’s so true when I came back home (Chinese mom) but I m borned in French Polynesia so French citizen and I met my boyfriend in France. It was so hard to be understood by my parents to be with a French guy. My parents had difficulties to accept my boyfriend (because he was French and not Chinese so it didn’t live up to her expectations and also Chinese’s expectations ) at the beginning but now the relations are much better ! I totally agree on your mom words, each mother should pursue their own happiness instead of getting into the son or daughter’s relationship and also lower their expectations ! That’s for the good health for all !

We've seen/heard Sarah's mom ...now his mom.. CAN I HAVE THEM BOTH! How awesome to have both these equally supportive women in ur lives. Obvious they love their children & respective spouses. Both sets parents desire their kid's happiness n well being even if it doesn't follow tradition society or really maybe their own expectations/hopes
I'm sure your mom has seen society change around her very rapidly- from my perspective, it's her way of contributing with cutting off the cycle of what made her feel burdened when younger in a very vertical and patriarchal society- her drive to accomplish personal goals is truly admirable. i can barely keep my own s*** together 😅
The part about Kyuho's mom saying she can't raise her grandkids reminded me so much of my own parents. My mum is very insistent that I should give her grandkids and she even said to me: "You just give birth to them and I'll raise them" but my dad was like "I'm not raising any more kids" 🤣 It's so nice to hear that Kyuho's mom is understanding about you guys not wanting kids, I wish I could say the same about mine.

Such a calming conversation. Kyuho's mom is just amazing. I loved hearing her answers, and it's also fun to hear Kyuho speak in Korean. I was also excited to see my question there 🙈. She mentioned that these could be just her standards, but open-minded individuals like Kyuho's mom might be in minority in the beginning, however it's important to acknowledge them and spread their opinions so that our societies can heal and get rid of some toxic behaviours. 🤗 P.S. I know Sarah feels shy about her Korean skills and doesn't want to speak in videos, and I respect that, but I am very curious to know more about her experience with the Korean language, and whether her feelings have changed through time, and how she follows the flow of conversation with Kyuho's parents or with some friends who might not be so good at English, if there are any.

Props to your Mom! I don't know if she would say this, but she is truly a pioneer in what is -- like most -- a patriarchal society. I'm sure it hasn't been easy, but I love that she has maintained her optimism, drive, hope and empathy. She is truly in charge... and joyful...and it's brilliant. What a lovely interview and great answers, thank you! I really really respect parents that change a lot in the way they raise their children after experiencing a very different childhood and youth themselves like Kyuho's mom. My parents did this as well. They were brought up in a small village, in a strict and big household with a lot of negativity. I'm so happy they changed and made our house a more open space and took us travelling and gave us the freedom to experience the world. I think that really makes a parent succesful. To be able to change so much for the next generation. It helps their kids to do "bigger" and more unusual things.
I love his mom! She speaks so honestly and directly but still is able to be empathetic. Also love how she has her own business and is still trying to enrich her own life and be independently successful without relying so much on her family. She just seems like such a strong woman

I'm in a small kansas town and although she had to move to a bigger place,my sister became a microbiologist. You guys definitely need to do special segments with her! I think she'd do really well with a Skillshare or Masterclass-like format tbh~! Your mom definitely needs a trip to Europe just to try out all the wonderful bakeries we have on this side of the planet! Really wonderful watch! Your mom was right about needing to respect your choices as an international couple; this is something my mom struggled with and had to accept, too. It doesn't matter where you live, one set of parents will miss out and that is the reality, your mom's mindset about this is practical. My mom has the exact same mindset about me living abroad, too--she understands that I am happy with the person I love and that my life is wonderful so that's all she can ask for even if it means I'm on another continent. Loved hearing your mom's perspective, generational shifts are interesting to see no matter the country.

I like you guys, but I love your mom. Also I am very happy to be a mom, but people should respect others that choose to not have any children. It hurts me to hear how my own friends get asked the same question all the time too. And in return of course respect the ones that do, have kids. They will be taking care of all of us when we get older.

I really really respect parents that change a lot in the way they raise their children after experiencing a very different childhood and youth themselves like Kyuho's mom. My parents did this as well. They were brought up in a small village, in a strict and big household with a lot of negativity. I'm so happy they changed and made our house a more open space and took us travelling and gave us the freedom to experience the world. I think that really makes a parent succesful. To be able to change so much for the next generation. It helps their kids to do "bigger" and more unusual things.

I love his mom! She speaks so honestly and directly but still is able to be empathetic. Also love how she has her own business and is still trying to enrich her own life and be independently successful without relying so much on her family. She just seems like such a strong woman

I'm in a small kansas town and although she had to move to a bigger place,my sister became a microbiologist. I so admire those that have the abilities and drive to further their education,when that is what appeals to them.

You guys definitely need to do special segments with her! I think she'd do really well with a Skillshare or Masterclass-like format tbh~! Your mom definitely needs a trip to Europe just to try out all the wonderful bakeries we have on this side of the planet! Really wonderful watch! Your mom was right about needing to respect your choices as an international couple; this is something my mom struggled with and had to accept, too. It doesn't matter where you live, one set of parents will miss out and that is the reality, your mom's mindset about this is practical. My mom has the exact same mindset about me living abroad, too--she understands that I am happy with the person I love and that my life is wonderful so that's all she can ask for even if it means I'm on another continent. Loved hearing your mom's perspective, generational shifts are interesting to see no matter the country.

I like you guys, but I love your mom. Also I am very happy to be a mom, but people should respect others that choose to not have any children. It hurts me to hear how my own friends get asked the same question all the time too. And in return of course respect the ones that do, have kids. They will be taking care of all of us when we get older.

First thank you to your mom for accepting answering this type of questions. She sounds quite intelligent person, although she could not agreed she tries to understand and put herself in others shoes. It is sad that she thought about the possible bullying that the future child could experience. This has to change worldwide.
