Kyuho's mom, back and dropping the wisdom bombs on us all 😅 She seems quite at peace with giving you two space to make big life decisions, which I think is so great! I really like her practical and very grounded personality 🙂

So glad to hear that your mother has her own life, and pursues her own happiness. That's the key to life. There's no time to be negative or to meddle in someone else's life. She gives her son the moral support that she would want for herself in her own pursuits for happiness and success.

I like how Khuyo's Mom mentioned the thing about being a "new" MIL. Oftentimes, we see our MILs in a bad light but they are also learning and navigating their new role. It's important for spouses and extended families to give each other grace, especially the first year of marriage.

OMG, I seriously LOVE Kyuho’s Mom. What a beautiful soul, so introspective and honest, so willing to extend grace and understanding. If all Moms/Mother In-laws were like her, there would be a lot less stress in the world! I love her strength of will, and self-esteem. Truly she is a roll model for young people, and both Kyuho and Sarah are so blessed to have her in their lives. Thank you for sharing this amazing woman with your viewers!

The part about Kyuho's mom saying she can't raise her grandkids reminded me so much of my own parents. My mum is very insistent that I should give her grandkids and she even said to me: "You just give birth to them and I'll raise them" but my dad was like "I'm not raising any more kids" 🤣 It's so nice to hear that Kyuho's mom is understanding about you guys not wanting kids, I wish I could say the same about mine.
“Just’ give birth to them”-like pregnancy and childbirth is no big thing at all 😅😂 Yeah, we’re super lucky for sure~
I'm sure your mom has seen society change around her very rapidly- from my perspective, it's her way of contributing with cutting off the cycle of what made her feel burdened when younger in a very vertical and patriarchal society- her drive to accomplish personal goals is truly admirable. i can barely keep my own s*** together 😅

It was great listening to Kyuho speak Korean, so often listening to your english it's easy to forget Korean is your first language!

Props to your Mom! I don't know if she would say this, but she is truly a pioneer in what is -- like most -- a patriarchal society. I'm sure it hasn't been easy, but I love that she has maintained her optimism, drive, hope and empathy. She is truly in charge... and joyful...and it's brilliant. (And, though I don't know the full story, a shoutout to your Pops, as well, for supporting such a strong woman. Not all men can do that. Kyuho clearly inherited something there... or not?)

Such a calming conversation. Kyuho's mom is just amazing. I loved hearing her answers, and it's also fun to hear Kyuho speak in Korean. I was also excited to see my question there 🙈. She mentioned that these could be just her standards, but open-minded individuals like Kyuho's mom might be in minority in the beginning, however it's important to acknowledge them and spread their opinions so that our societies can heal and get rid of some toxic behaviours. 🤗
P.S. I know Sarah feels shy about her Korean skills and doesn't want to speak in videos, and I respect that, but I am very curious to know more about her experience with the Korean language, and whether her feelings have changed through time, and how she follows the flow of conversation with Kyuho's parents or with some friends who might not be so good at English, if there are any.

We've seen/heard Sarah's mom ...now his mom.. CAN I HAVE THEM BOTH! How awesome to have both these equally supportive women in ur lives. Obvious they love their children & respective spouses. I'm in a small kansas town and although she had to move to a bigger place,my sister became a microbiologist. I so admire those that have the abilities and drive to further their education,when that is what appeals to them.

You guys definitely need to do special segments with her! I think she'd do really well with a Skillshare or Masterclass-like format tbh~! Your mom definitely needs a trip to Europe just to try out all the wonderful bakeries we have on this side of the planet! Really wonderful watch! Your mom was right about needing to respect your choices as an international couple; this is something my mom struggled with and had to accept, too. It doesn't matter where you live, one set of parents will miss out and that is the reality, your mom's mindset about this is practical. My mom has the exact same mindset about me living abroad, too--she understands that I am happy with the person I love and that my life is wonderful so that's all she can ask for even if it means I'm on another continent. Loved hearing your mom's perspective, generational shifts are interesting to see no matter the country.

I really really respect parents that change a lot in the way they raise their children after experiencing a very different childhood and youth themselves like Kyuho's mom. My parents did this as well. They were brought up in a small village, in a strict and big household with a lot of negativity. I'm so happy they changed and made our house a more open space and took us travelling and gave us the freedom to experience the world. I think that really makes a parent succesful. To be able to change so much for the next generation. It helps their kids to do "bigger" and more unusual things.

Your mom seems so awesome, she has knowledge and is full of wisdom. Mom is a great role models for young women. Mom accomplished so much when times were different and harder.
