  • Gday Team,
    We get SOOOOOO many requests to show "how to do's" and here is a SUPER DOOPER quick & easy one on loading a construction sausage gun WITHOUT making a mess !!!!
    Do you know how to cut the end of sausage glue so it doesn't go alllll through the gun ?
    How often do you or the apprentice cut the end of the sausage glue and it goes EVERYWHERE.... before you even get it in the gun
    Don't worry anymore.... we have the answer

    I use sika products and that gun and I actually remove the trigger end and also use side cutters to cut then load the sausage, been doing it this way for a year now compared to the old way that you are using, I find it faster to unload and reload :)
    Keep the videos coming, been binge watching your green build series up to and including your retaining wall.

    I use a regular tube caulk gun and a thin putty knife to apply firestop putty to electrical, network data, phone lines, and fire alarm wires where they come through openings in walls and studs... my gun is pristine, looks like the day it came out of the store. My clothes and ladder are clean too. The boys who do the electrical and plumbing lines use the sausage style guns and a glove to apply their firestop... they constantly drizzle it all over every surface they walk by, floors, debris, walls, studs, anything on the floors, ladders; it's a colossal waste of caulking material and a real mess on the job site. Their guns are totally encased in about a 3-5mm thick layer of the goo, and the glove they use to smear in around the pipes and cables is even worse. It amazes me how they can use a whole handful of goo and still fail to get all the holes completely sealed to the inspector's satisfaction!! This was an excellent video demonstrating how to cut the tip of the sausage for optimal fit and seal in the end of the gun. Thanks!!

    great tip but i have the makita 18v caulking gun for edpm . qll i do it push the sausage down (because you don't have to press a trigger to load it) then leave the end sticking out then use either medical scissors or us my gasket shears/snips. no mess and you don't have to fuck about taking it back out the gun. theres a tip for you wolverine 👌👍

    How can the nozzle be kept clean if not used for a long time?

    • @BeowulfBuilders
      @BeowulfBuilders  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      put cling wrap/plastic wrap i nthe novel before you use it
      then once you finish for the day pull out the plastic adn throw it away
      get another piecce of plastic and put it over the top of the tube in the gun
      close the lid over this
      and
      whalla
      the tube will stay fresh for longer

    0:58 You mean pull it up as far as you can instead of push it down?

    • @BeowulfBuilders
      @BeowulfBuilders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gday Wassupjg,
      What i am refering to is the glue inside the sausage... i am pushing it as far down as possible to expose the tip and keep the glue away from the end.
      By doing this i can ensure that the glue isn't going every where once its opens AND the head of the sausage goes INSIDE the nozzle.
