Hey mate I have dug a post hole next to my slab in the back yard and it keeps filling up with water. Water gushes out faster after rains. All plumbings have been checked, repaired and passed the hydrostatic tests. Any ideas if this could be due to negligence of the builder. 4 year old house and haven't seen any signs of heave or hydrostatic pressure so far. th-cam.com/users/shorts4DFLwCPdjWE th-cam.com/video/tqJSeItS_pg/w-d-xo.html

I’m going to be doing a small SIP panel extension soon. I was planning on doing the flooring a very similar way. Dig holes for the concrete pads where I’ll insert cement filled waste pipe with a metal thread in the centre of it so lay the wooden posts across the pads similar to the video. This should work great, what do you think?

G'day! I wonder if you could give me some advice. My house has a split level living space with the lower part 2-steps lower (350mm) and I want to raise up that lower part of floor area. It's on concrete slab and it's quite a big area (5 X 3 meters). I searched and viewed a lot of videos and yours is quite informative but obviously it's a different scenario so I can't do what you did here. With that height difference I wonder if I will have to go with bears and joists or some kind of footing... Any advice is much appreciated! 🤘

What kind of caulking did you use between the shimmed areas under the battens? How did you apply it so it wouldn' t run out the sides? Did you just apply caulking at the outer edges of the battens? Is the caulking necesaary between the shims under the battens or couod you just use more shims so it won' t flex and just caulk the shims?

Hi mate, love the videos. Just wondering what sikaflex you are using to adhere the villaboard to the timber? I was thinking of 11FC+, or pro+ however I am worried about the adhesion strength in a damp environment especially on that top piece as the weight of the board and tile will be pulling straight down. Is it worth screwing in the top piece? Also which construction adhesive exactly do you use for filling the edges? The sika website isn't very clear on exactly which products are waterproof. I'm guessing I specifically need an adhesive, not just a waterproofing polyurethane sealant like Crommelin?

Hey great work blokes!! Just about to attack a bathroom reno. Have been told we need to replace the old flooring with the 19mm cement sheets mentioned. So my question.....is it easier/quicker to just replace the old timber in the subfloor to get the right level to the hallway floor ie the 19mm + 10mm for the tiles? OR cut down the old timber with a chalk line and trim off with a circular saw?? 🤷‍♂️ Cheers

My problem is chronic cough which i have had for at least 40 years. I've had all the tests but never found the cause. Just lately i had to spend 5 days in hospital. I then noticed i wasn't coughing. This led me to believe my house, which i had suspected before was causing the problem. I looked into off gas and bought some activated charcoal air filter pads and placed them around the house. Directly my head hit the pillow in my bedroom the coughing would start, but after a few days of the charcoal filter being in the room the coughing stopped.

I spent a lot on a very large rug to be delivered and its a real pain to return and honestly i just think every rug is going to off gas post pandemic has created a very unsafe consumer environment. Unfortunately my husband refused to let me buy used which would have been a good option. . Im on day 2 of off gassing and we need to get our stuff out of storage is there no way to more quickly get this rug cleaned and safe? I have cats and a kitten that im worried about besides every time I touch it my hands start swelling and stinging. Right now I have it draped over things in a covered outdoor area with lots of air flow. When i run my fingers through it it leaves a sticky maybe oily residue. What the heck is that even? 😢😰
