I found your channel when I stumbled across the How to Focus as a Writer video. And no, I have not cured my lack of focus, hahhahahahahaha!!!! Agree 100% about craft books, I read tons of them before I ever finished a first draft, it was procrastination more than anything else. I get more out of them now because I nderstand the practical aspects, but the truth is that you learn by doing, not by reading about it. I think I enjoy author memoirs more than actual craft books. Pub. marketplace is worth it for me because research is my crack, however it is stupid expensive. If you aren't looking for niche genre agents, Canadian/UK agents, or interested in agent sales you don't need it. You can subscribe for one month and that might be enough for you to see what's available. I love reading the new deals, seeing the trends, the comps used and titles.
