A $3 kid's kick scooter got me back interested in scooters

- My generic/cheap adult kick scooter I got off eBay didn't go so well for me, and I lost interest entirely in the idea of kick scooters. Then a half rusted kid's Razor scooter I came across that I barely fit on, gave me a good enough first impression that I'm considering buying something new.
Just got back from Tampa Harley and remembered how much I love your motovlogging vids, they bring me back to focus, help me be more aware and vigilant while on and off the bikr. Even though you've shy'd away from them, you're STILL helping folks on the daily. The podcasts are entrancing. Keep doing you 🥰 Great Things.

I got a scooter originally because my bike kept getting flat tires.
I have a high up scooter, I always get a workout when I ride it😆

As for electric scooters, if you want to have the option to ride it unpowered if necessary, you should look specifically for e-scooters designed with that in mind. Most e-scooters have high decks and are not good at 'coasting' because of the motor resistance, meaning they'd be VERY exhausting and uncomfortable to ride unpowered. Only a few brands are realistically designed for hybrid use, e.g. E-TWOW Eco, and even then it is far from perfect.
As for max range, driving at top speed usually halves your range on electric vehicles. You get maximum range by driving at medium speeds. And even then the numbers given by manufacturers are often exaggerated. Always check independent reviews for actual range tests, and still - remember these refer to new batteries in optimal conditions. As the battery gets older, and e.g. temperature drops, your range might end up half of what it was originally.
Most electric motor bikes/scooters should have a freewheel clutch now.
Scooters are awesome. Somehow my sister managed to hit a crack in the sidewalk while riding one and broke her elbow. My mom then promptly banned them from the house....but now I'm adult and just realized I can buy myself one :D

Great to get an alert of your video. Kick scooters are interesting, I don't know if there's a dealer who specializes in thenm and can answer all your questions. I would suppose that there is a monitor to see how much battery you have and using the battery when necessary and kick power when you can, you could probably have the best of it all including the exercise we all need. I see more and more people on these type electric scooters in the city and burbs. I am anxious to see where this interest goes because these electric/ kick scooters might be a very practical idea.
Another thought is that you fold it, carry it with you = instant security without a lot of gizmos
E-scooters can only go their max mile range at their lowest MPH level due to inefficient batteries. The faster you go, the less miles you can cover. They also become useless once that battery drains.
