it is really important to have a hydraulic press in the shop. i build this project with 2X4 channel bar, bycicle parts, 12 volts starter motor and scrap metals.
i used a 4 ton hydraulic jack not really the best but thats all i have in my shop. i hope this project can give you some ideas on how to turn your press or make your own motorized hydraulic press. goodluck and have fun :D

Love the way a simple straw allows you to change the position the jack works in. Even without the motor, that alone would make it a wonderful addition to a shop. The motor is just icing on the cake, so to speak

Nice. I did a simple screw press to make rings recently. Someday I will probably try a hydraulic one. Didn't realise a mod was required to make the bottle jack work upside down.

I love the idea, and it put me right on track for some solutions to make my small press a little more precise. I think I would have went with a small geared DC motor maybe from a powerseat. Small size high torque. Then maybe an elliptical cam with fast returns.

I really like how you did the hydraulic press and the air compressor is really unique, I could use either in my small shop.
Indeed, that air compressor was a great piece. Plenty of good workshop ideas on this channel for if/when I ever have a place that I can actually HAVE a workshop (renting, you know how it goes)

That air compressor is pretty amazing!!! I believe everyone needs it!!! (Including me of course...) Speaking about the project, I like the idea you made the jack pump upside down, which is awesome, instead of the regular way, mounted in a plate and forcing against the top of the press...

Ooh, I like that pump. My own bike pump died two days ago - right when I needed it to inflate the tires on my bike trailer! Ended up having to pay for grocery delivery :(
