New subscriber and this is why I came to your channel. Here is the story.About three years ago we've found a standard beetle 1973 I believe. My son wanted one and we bought it. We gave the man when he asked because it was a good deal in a very solid bug. Well routine maintenance like the valve stems for some reason have gone bad on the front two tires. And he was talkin about jacket from the front center and I know from the old days with the VW Jack's we did it basically at the corner of the cab of the vehicle. Behind the front tires and in front of the back tires depends on what you're trying to jack up. So it's been a long time since I own that VW van and drove that VW bug. Thanks for the what might seem to other people a common sense thing to know. But it's always great to be sure to not to hurt oneself or the vehicle. Isn't it nice she put this up six years ago and you're in Europe someplace and a guy out in the Midwest and portion of the United States is saying thanks..
Seems simple, but this was good to confirm. It is quite easy to pick the wrong spot to jack up a car and find that you have done damage. Even worse if it becomes unstable and you risk getting crushed under the car, so great video here and thanks for posting!!!
Tony CJ Hi there, what kind of jack were you using? The idea is to use a trolley jack on a flat surface that allows the jacks wheels to move. If the jack can't creep forward as your lifting the car, it'll most likely fall off the jack. Hope this helps!
+Jonathan Hendricks hi there, the process for jacking up a new VW will be different. This is the process for a Classic Beetle with torsion beam set up. Cheers.
It's a Volkswagen rabbit disguise as a beetle. So however you would jack up a Volkswagen rabbit should be the same. But that was five years ago I'm sure you have figured it out by now.

Excellent video... Thank you!

Thanks mate!
Hai, could you make a tutorial how to jacking up on the rear end?
Sean Alexander hi there, sure I'll get a video done on that this week. Thanks for watching mate!
What about the grease fittings? Seems like setting the car on the jack stands there may damage them? Thx
If you’re worried about you’re grease fittings getting damaged with your stands, just stick them to one side of the grease fitting. Cheers.
I tried doing this and the car slipped off the jack. Any advice on how to ensure a proper lift?

I'll put your advice into practice next time I have to lift her up. Thanks for the quick turnaround.
Tony CJ Not a problem! Take care under that VW!
i always use wood between jack to vehicle
