    Tons of people have asked me for the PIDs. I haven't had time to really fine tune it, but here's what's on the build right now:
    Betaflight 3.5.7:
    set p_pitch = 50
    set i_pitch = 75
    set d_pitch = 44
    set f_pitch = 60
    set p_roll = 46
    set i_roll = 65
    set d_roll = 40
    set f_roll = 60
    set p_yaw = 45
    set i_yaw = 100
    set d_yaw = 0
    set f_yaw = 100

    I did the Shutterbug conversion on my old Mobula 7 and flew it today for the first time on 2S in open air... it's a complete different whoop!
    First thing i noticed how quiet is was, and then the fabulous feel of control it gained. First time i experienced the so called "locked in" feeling.
    With 75 mm quads weight is key, every gram you put on a original 75 mm quad will provoke jaw washouts. More weight equals more persistent jaw washouts.
    With the added weight of the Caddx EOS/VTX Happymodel upgrade it had become persistent jaw washouts, regardless of all the tuning tips i found on internet.
    With this conversion it's all gone. Very good job Mr. Shutterbug, thank you very much!

      Did you use the standard motors or did you switch them to the 1103 from this video?

  • @RedrumAlism
    @RedrumAlism 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I watched this video 2 days ago and luckily there is a nearby hobby store to pick stuff up from, because you trully sparked my interest! I picked up the Betafpv 1103 11000kv motors, the 85x frame and a spare BT2.0 connector.
    Since I have the Meteor75 lite whoop from the Advanced Kit 2, I took out the 1-2 lite Siverware aio fc, canopy, and a01 cam and I made a 2xBT2.0 connector to plug 2x450mAh batteries in. ThennI proceeded by crossing my fingers, armed it and I must say that this is the wackiest thing I have ever done - i felt like an engineer.
    Flies extremely well! No jello whatsoever, range is pretty good but the power of this drone got me stunned.
    My main worries were if the 1-2s aio fc would handle 2x420mAh batteries and how would I tune the drone, since i basically have 0 knowledge on how to flash a Silverware version which has an option to adjust the settings via OSD commands (current version (LiteSilver) seems to be issue) but again - it flies extremely well!
    Thanks for the inspiration :)
    Stay Safe,
    Alex

    I found a slightly different build with a bit more punch, its preaty much just a 85mm trashcan, all I did was swap to the UR85 frame so I could keep the 0803 15000kv 2s motors(3 screw's) then I installed a set of Betafpv 48mm props(from brushed 85mm) and the canopy from this video and that's it. Dry weight is 39.03g, this is my new go to 2inch.

  • @andrewhoppe6946

    Nice video Nate. I did the same with my 75x pretty much. Only difference was the original 75x board and the external Xm+ receiver. I used an all in one ur65 camera/vtx, so with just the cam/vtx and canopy change for anyone interested I got 62 grams. I had my receiver antennas on zipties/shrink which would add a little bit of weight too. I did 2 and a half packs on it before I smashed it into a light pole doing a matty flip lol. Performance in terms of punch was nearly as good as a stock mobula 7, flight time was similar, but the bit of extra weight made it more stable and it flew true in corners etc. Also not as floaty as the M7 when you pull off throttle and coming down, so much more predictable when you need to get under things, powerloops and split s exiting under tree branches or objects, etc. When I fix it up it'll be right alongside my m7 for fun, and if it seems to fly more true then I'll probably fly it all the time :) if you have a 75x, definitely convert it :)

    • @dirtfpv
      @dirtfpv 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I did this conversion and mine weighs just 48g dry. All I did was swap the frame, change to the 2" props and found the lightest TPU canopy I could. That includes the EOS2 camera upgrade I did when I bought the 75x. It is amazing, isn't it? I have been flying it so hard and in tons of wind, and finally yesterday I was able to get it to wash out for the first time, whereas when it was stock 75x, it'd do it all the time.

    • @MrShutterBug
      @MrShutterBug  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kirill Obraztsov larger motors, better camera and antenna, 2-board stack, external Rx... all the things add weight but are nice features if that’s what you want. It’s crazy fast too! But the biggest weigh comes from batteries. It has a lot of thrust too, but I like flying in small spaces where I don’t need all that power. For small places, a low all up weight is key.

If you search for those things I'm sure you can find some tutorials. Conformal coating works but it is toxic and it can ruin connectors if it gets inside.

      The only on-board DVR I've tried is the HMDVR-S. It didn't look significantly better than my goggles DVR, except there was no RF breakup. My main complaint about that DVR was that it automatically split the clip every 3 minutes and dropped frames so that you could not stitch them back together smoothly. Also, it stretched the image to 16:9 so I had to scale it back to 4:3 in software. There's an example of the HMDVR-S with a Predator camera on my channel, if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/UOTUti4FSA4/w-d-xo.html

    That one seems to be really awesome! But i have a question about your ESC-Combo. I built a similar whoop around 1202.5 11500kv Motors from Flywoo. It came out at 50g dry. The size and even the props are the same as in your build. But on 2S they seem to draw over 30A (around 9A per Motor) at full throttle. I want to try your 1103 11000KV-Build at next, but I am a bit concerned if the 5A-ESCs you used will do the job for a long time. I know, its an old build, but maybe you could still tell if your build survived so far?

    • @MrShutterBug
      @MrShutterBug  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your build should not draw 30A. Are you sure that's correct? Do you have a flight controller with a real current sensor and is it calibrated? I don't know exactly how much current mine pull because the BetaFPV 2S AIO does not have a current sensor, but I know that I have raced these drones on continuous 100% throttle and I have never burned up an ESC.

    • @herrflofliegt5815
      @herrflofliegt5815 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrShutterBug Thank you for your answer. Im not really shure about the 30A after you pointed that out. The Board has a current sensor, but maybe it's not calibrated. I'll check that. My confusion gets even more, cause Betafpv recommends their 12a fc for These motors. But I'm gonna try your build at next. Using these smaller boards is a lot cheaper😊.
      Do you think there could be a significant difference in amp-draw between a 1103 and the 1202.5?

    Hi Nate! Been having some fun with my Betafpv Pro 2 -- glad I bought it after seeing your videos!
    A new problem came up that I hope you can help with. I thought I'd try to put the led set on the back. Didn't really get them to work, but then I seemed to have some trouble with video going in and out. Took the led off to make sure that wasn't the issue. (I t wasn't) The problem with the video is that it goes on for about 1 1/2 seconds, then off 1 1/2 seconds, on 1 1/2 seconds off 1 1/2 seconds -- very consistent. Would you have any idea what the problem is? If it makes any difference, I have the no receiver version and I added my own XM plus. Did I fry something on the board or VTx itself?

    • @MrShutterBug
      @MrShutterBug  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to guess. It's possible the VTX failed, or there could be a connection problem somewhere. Do you have the version where the VTX is built into the FC? If no, do you have another VTX you can try? That might help narrow down the problem. Good luck!

      Unfortunately, no, I don't have a video about splitting the WT07. It's kind of messy. You have to cut the pins, remove the bits, and solder thin wires in place of them. If you are facing the back, then there are two pins in the lower right corner. Those carry 5v and ground. The pins on the left are one-to-one with the colored wires. When in doubt, use a multi-meter to test connectivity between pins (which is ground, etc...). Good luck!

      The BetaFPV 350mAh battery isn't very good (see my review video). Back when I make this video I was probably using 300mAh 2S, but I frequently fly it with 450mAh 2S and that's another good option for more sustained power in large spaces. The GNB 450mAh 80C 2S is the best in class (amzn.to/2RHyveY) and the Crazepony is a cheaper rebrand of it (amzn.to/31mD6Hi). Cheers!

      Ben Travis it depends on how you fly. At low speed it is quieter than most of my 2S whoops because it doesn’t need high RPMs just to cruise around. On full throttle it makes more noise but still significantly quieter than the 85x.

      Sam Carmel I do not. Patrick Clarke (Project Mockingbird) and I spent some time trying to tune it for BF4.1 and it was never as good as the 3.5.7 tune. BF4.2 is great on some of my larger drones so it would be interesting to try again. Just haven’t taken the time. It would be mainly for educational purposes. Hi. The formula hasn't really changed, but there are more options now in terms of motors and canopies. If you try to use those 1102 motors on the 85X frame, you'll find that the motor holes don't line up. The betafpv 1102 motors use 3 screws (like whoop motors) but the 85X frame expect 4 screws per motor.
