I'd love to learn how you solved the reflection issue the yellow causes when wearing those Dewalt goggles.
I'm personally prone to Ocular Migraines and my glasses alone can cause an issue. The Dewalt goggles cause a double ghosting effect due to not eliminating enough light penetration through the silicone surrounding the large plastic lens.
For me I end up seeing my own eyes looking back at me while wearing those.
Personally I've looked into dying, or painting the silicone to improve the light blocking, but I've yet to find a good solution.

Heck yeah! I looked at my Amazon history and saw that I bought a pair of these about 3 years ago. I routinely wear them over my rx glasses (or even sunglasses, depending on where I'm working.) Had a chunk of plywood come off a table saw about a year ago and hit me square in the bridge of my nose. Probably would have cut me real well had I not had these on, and a few mm to either side could have been a bad day. The googles just have a little scuff there.

    Here’s mine :
About 5 years ago and just before I went to work in the morning I decided in my wisdom that it would be a good idea to use the dremel to shorten a tiny bolt that was just a tad too long.
Annoyingly I couldn’t find my safety goggles, and thinking it would just be a 5 second job I carried on.
Didn’t feel anything dramatic initially, but an hour after the job was done I felt that there was probably some dust on my eye - tried washing that off but no joy. It started hurting like crap the next day, so off to the hospital I went..
The eye specialist took a look through the scope and said “it seems there is a metal shard lodged in your eyeball.. and it was probably quite hot when it impacted cos it’s caused a burn... and it’s started to rust...” 😱😱😱😱
Long story short, he managed to get the shard out of the eye (thankfully it was 3mm off and on a part of the eyeball where I wouldn’t notice the scarring), And I’m perfectly fine today.
    So goggles, everyone!

My pops worked on a shop floor all his life. He had the side shields and safety rates lenses, too. As long as they sit up on your face they're fine. He still managed to get the one wayward chip to land in his eye. Came right in from the top. It was easier to remove because it had lost all momentum by then and basically fell in but those are still no guarantee. Goggles look like better protection to me.

One of the sparks/crud flew around the mask, right into his left eye and scarred his eye. He had to go to a doctor and by the time the ambulance came, his eye looked like he had 10 rounds with Cena in the ring. So that's fun.

He hadn’t noticed the saw dust in the goggles and got blasted in both eyes. He could barely see, I had to lead him to the car and take him to ER. Oof, the only way those machines can get any worse is throwing a cut-off/zipcut disc on them! Even between cuts, I still make sure to check the edge for any bite marks or cracks. I've never seen one 'spontaneously disassemble' but I know the forces at play which is enough for me!

I've been in workshops most of my life like probably a lot of people who watch these videos. For years I never wore any real safety stuff, gloves, goggles, ear protection. Until I started working in a lab. Everything there was set up to make safety easy. Goggles by the machines that needed them and gloves the same. Since then I have made safety easy and I will never go back. I don't wear glasses so my go too goggles are a pair of 3M safety glasses and they practically live on my face

I purchased these goggles along with a nice case for them on Amazon, and I already love them! Thanks, Adam, for a great suggestion. I have several other tools you've recommended in m cart to buy as money permits. I wanted to share my story of eye damage. I have managed to escape eye damage from most dangerous maker projects, shooting guns, and lots of yardwork. But a long time ago I did landscaping for a living and was hurriedly flinging pine bark mulch out of the back of a truck into a new flower bed to get done and go home for the day. I managed to get a tiny piece of bark lodged in my eye. What a painful injury! I also had to go to the eye doctor to get it removed, and she said it scratched my eyeball. It was sore and burning for several days after that. I was super careful from then on. I plan to use these goggles both for maker projects and yardwork such as weed whacking. Thanks again for the great suggestion.

I've got a pair I've used for a while with my glasses and the strap isn't that noticable because of how elastic it is. Of course, you can adjust the tightness of them and again because of how light they are, you don't need to make the strap so tight to hold them in place. I wouldn't worry too much about it considering the low entry price to try them. I recommend them too.

Fully agree. I got mugged many years ago and ended up being rushed to A&E to have the glass fragments removed from my left eye. I spent two weeks in the eye hospital as they worked to ensure my brain did not switch off the bad eye. Apparently, if that happens it's irreversible. Luckily the damaged eye was recovered to almost it's original state. So, I wear a 3M full face shield when machining, routing, etc.

Not sure if it would work well if you need glasses aswell, it would break the seal slighlty.

I nearly lost my eye. I had to wear glasses (with one heavy prescription) for 30+ years. and never recovered my full vision (nevermind the cost of all the visits/equipment, and that's in France where most is payed for by our healthcare system). Just a tip.
If you get any small chips in your eyes...NOT SOMETHING IN THE EYE ITSELF.... keep a magnet around and cover it with a soft white cloth and pass it over your eye area slow and sometimes it will grab small bits saving a trip to the doctor. Of course it only works on iron. Do not touch your eyeball. The white cloth is used to see the chip easy.

How many times does the average human blink per hour? The answer is "Roughly 1000" which one becomes keenly aware of when a freak accident scratches one's cornea and every blink is a new adventure in pain. After my accident, I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of prescription safety glasses. No halo, negligible fogging issues, MUCH more comfortable, and a bonus (for those of us that need it), both reading and occupational bifocals. The best shop investment I ever made.

I'm currently looking for a good goggle solution and the DeWalt goggles seem to be the best upgrade from most. Unfortunately, safety equipment of all types are stupid expensive in Canada. The $12.00 U.S. DeWalt goggles in Canada sell for $30.00, which is way above the exchange rate on the dollar between our two countries. DeWalt states that the lenses of these goggles are replaceable, so that the lenses can be replaced without throwing the entire goggles in the landfill, but I don't see the replacement lenses available anywhere. Finally, I'd like to know if these goggles fit with standard 3M half mask respirators, because if' there are particles flying around to damage the eyes, those particles are also going to rip up your lungs and sinuses as well.

Face shields over glasses are the patrician choice because goggles do not protect your face from grit, weld spatter, shrapnel and thrown brush wires. I wear a shade 3 for gas welding and cutting and mostly use plain Jackson headgear, keeping several spare shields for the same reason I don't buy toilet paper by the sheet. Face shields are far less uncomfortable in hot conditions than goggles. Goggles do not keep you from getting a dirt facial wire brushing rust etc.
Jackson and others also make hybrid goggles with face shields that of course are also superior to plain goggles. Your local welding supply is a very good place to visit and compare. If you weld a Fibre-Metal Pipeliner is THE classic TIG helmet and fits both fixed shade and autodark inserts. If you weld, try one. They fit over most glasses and the light weight is comfy.
There are some very good face shields out there. When I get goggles in an auction lot I throw them away. For some very strange reason, probably boomers (I am one but some of my peers are wack) face shields are mostly popular among welders and it's as if the rest of the world doesn't know they exist.
