So great, you captured a really balanced edit of what RR had to offer!🙌😃 Loved that you captured so many good lines and features, and your riding did them justice!😄 Nice work Sage and Dan!👊 Hillarious outakes, that #7 rock garden takes no prisoners😄
Jared your advice and tips were spot on brotha! This video doesn't happen with out you, thank you. As for 7, you're right, super tricky getting that going up, lol.
Nice video.....I live in York and have been riding at Rocky Ridge since 1972. Back in 1972, it had just become a County Park and was there was a toxic waste dump to your right as you pulled into the small gravel front parking lot (in 1972).....it was a Super Fund Toxic Waste site back in the 90's, they dug up the landfill, encapsulated all the nasty stuff and reburied it. Back in 1972, Sue's Trail was narrow singletrack that dead ended near the eastern boundary of the park. At the time, what is now called Trail 5 was the only other trail and it was a deer track that eventually became singletrack. It started from the front parking lot (in 1972, there was no back parking lot) and followed pretty much the path now as it did then. I am one of the founding members of the York Area Mountain Bike Association, we started the 501-C non profit organization in conjunction with the York County Park System in 1999 and built a lot of the trails you were riding on. We build and maintain miles of trials in the York County Park System at several County Parks in cooperation with the York County Parks. What that means is, we get approval from the Parks board and management before we remove or build *anything*. *Humble* brag, at 4 mins 20 seconds into your video, you were transversing a rocky technical section.....I' 63 years old now, but back in late 70's......I cleaned that with an English 3 speed with fenders and twin wire rear baskets (I used to have a paper route) Just sayin🙂 At any rate...awesome video and if you want to learn more about YAMBA or make a contribution..... P.S. You guys check out Kain Park (Lake Redman) yet? There are trail maps on the YAMBA website......check it out. yamba.org/ Thanks!
That's some crazy history George! Thank you for all that you and YAMBA do. I have yet to check out Kain Park but if it is anything like Rocky Ridge, I'm in! I wish I could visit more often, but we are from Philly so it's about 1:45 min for us.
