    Wow that looks great! I’m not normally a fan of yellow but that looks awesome. Still don’t understand why the left corner vent is fake while the right is functional. Just make them both functional. Thanks for showing us. Great review.
    I’d have to say I’d take this over the RS3. Price wise the S3 is a value!

    • @emilytheaudinerd
      @emilytheaudinerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not usually so in love with yellow but I agree this color is great!!! I can understand why only one side is functional, only one side has an oil cooler behind the vent, the other side does not. But at the same time I agree with you why not just make them both functional.

      The yellow paint is super cool in person - I'll admit I was really skeptical of the color from looking at pictures online. In the bright sun it has a very similar hue to the old "vegas yellow" (except with metal flake), and in the shade it has a bit of a yellow-green sparkle similar to that of the F80 M3 "austin yellow".
      S3 is definitely a great value, especially when you look at the performance bump from just a "stage 1+" tune from Unitronic...446hp is no joke. That, coupled with the hilariously long order wait time for new RS3's, I totally understand why people would pick this instead.

    Emily I had the A3 and was going to buy the first S3 in my state, AZ, with gray interior, but VW took for ever to get the car, so I bought the Lexus IS 350 F sport instead. My question for you, how would you compare my IS 350F sport to the S3? I know I have five more horses, but was thinking of maybe trading in and looking at the S3 again. Thoughts??? Back to your video.

    • @emilytheaudinerd
      @emilytheaudinerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way to compare these cars is to talk about their roots. The Lexus is a Japanese car and optimized for roads and areas of that region. The S3 is a German car, made for the autobahn. As someone who just got back from 10 days in Germany and got to truly experience the region and autobahn for myself, we here in the USA truly cannot compare anything of what we have to what this car is made for. The S3 is a powerful, comfortable, safe sedan. It is meant to be driven swiftly and is very agile. The safety features work incredibly well, most importantly at very high speeds.
      But ultimately, everyone makes a good car these days and both are great options. But if you want something that wakes you up and is fun to drive in every scenario, go German.

    hello I’m on Audis website customizing an s3 and I want the black logos and badges blacked out but when I select the black optic package they don’t go black ???

    • @emilytheaudinerd
      @emilytheaudinerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      The S3 has different packaging, for the A3 it is a port installed accessory. You won't be able to see that online.

      when i configured mine there were two option:
      black pack and black plus pack.

    is this quicker/faster than a stock Type R?

    • @bpeyton11
      @bpeyton11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, by a lot. Type R 0-60 ~5.0 seconds, 1/4 mile ~13.7@105. New S3 0-60 4.3 seconds, 1/4 mile 12.9@108. With a simple ECU tune the S3 will do 11.65@119 in full street trim.

    • @emilytheaudinerd
      @emilytheaudinerd  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      And it looks better too!

    • @Jonathan-kraai
      @Jonathan-kraai ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the Golf 8 R and the S3 are very similar. But the R is just a little bit quicker. 0.1 - 0.3 seconds to 60.
      They both have the same platform and engine, but the R is the top spec for Golf while the S3 still has a bigger brother with the RS3. So the R is set up with more 'sporty' in mind than the S3. The R also has a little more torque and HP.
      still i like the S3 more. it looks better, has way better interior and over all is the better daily driver

    • @Jonathan-kraai
      @Jonathan-kraai ปีที่แล้ว +1

      go for the B&O it is fantastic. i cant compare to the normal sound system in a S3 but i can compare it to the normal sound system in a new A1.
      the B&O in my S3 is soo much better.

    Audi owners what does maintenance look for a vehicle like this?

    • @emilytheaudinerd
      @emilytheaudinerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Once a year or every 10,000 miles.

    • @Jonathan-kraai
      @Jonathan-kraai ปีที่แล้ว

      new does not need much maintenance. i'd do an oil change every 10.000 miles. and check it once in a year or when seasons switch (if that is relevant for where you live)
      but dont underestimate the cost of ownership. It needs more gasoline than a normal A3, best is premium gas. You pay way more insurance bc the car itself is more expensive. My insurance even wanted me to install extra theft protection for 1500 bucks. also environmental taxes might be higher than on a similar car.
