What is Beer in Beautiful Places?
Hi, I’m Maddie! Celebrating an outdoor adventure with a beer has been a long-time tradition for me, and I wanted to create a platform for like-minded folks to come together. In my videos, I cover all types of adventures and review beer! Topics include day hiking, kayaking, travel, thru-hiking, and life on the road. In short, if you would describe yourself as an outdoorist, outdoorsman, outdoorswoman, hiker trash, nomad, or dirtbag, come on along, this is the channel for you! Welcome and cheers!

I love watching your videos! I’ll be hiking 70 miles of the Superior Hiking Trail next week! Lots of tips I’ve learned from you, “sometimes you gotta light a fire under your own ass” 😂❤
That’s awesome! I have such big memories from the SHT! 💚
New Jersey has the good fortune of following Rocksylvania. People have a generally good time in our little state. It is bright - has a lot of ridge line - it is varied - and the Trail magic is representing. And there is a drive in movie
That was an eastern bobcat, I could tell because of the stubby tail. Very rare to see them! Great job!
Oh those wildflowers on the side of the road! So lovely.
The acidity of the oak tree leaves dissolve the iron content of the soil. The iron oxidizes in the water so that’s the reason for the brown color. That ridge is high iron and copper. Hope that helps.
Yeehaw all the way!
Thanks!
Thank you!!
I recently began following your TH-cam Channel and love each video you’ve made along this AT adventure! Thank you so much for taking us along❤
14.99?
Wonderful video! Beautiful photography! Thank you so much.
Great video!!
Smoke Master is the man!!
You were in my neck of the woods! I love hiking the at AT here❤
Cool bobcat sighting!
Staying dry, eating warm food. Life’s greatest pleasures are often the simplest! (Though not so simple on the trail 😊) another great vid, thanks. Can’t believe I’ve nearly all caught up boo
Loved seeing the puzzle! My dear friend (from NJ!) completed that puzzle at the start of Covid! We loved it sooooo much!!!!
A double zero day! Alright. Those floods look crazy! Glad you got a chance to rest and have those clean clothes. Your videos are such a welcome joy. Thanks for being you.
This is awesome. I gotta hike this section.
The rock walls you see at 15:42 are property boundary walls built by the Dutch w Lenape Indian labor in the 1600's.
Pizza 🍕 in Unionville, was one of the Mountains best
Hi Maddie! Welcome to New Jersey! Or would you rather hear "New Joysey?!" We do have a wide variety of accents, depending on which part of the state you're from. Actually, it's not us New Jerseyians that have any accent, we speak quite normally. It's the rest of the world that talks funny! LOL! Well, at any rate, we're glad you made it...1,300 miles! Wow! You're really moving right along. Keep at it!
We're proud to be even a small part of the AT! And so glad you enjoyed our soft and cushy parking lot to take a nap! Again, LOL!
That tall spire-shaped monument was in HIGH POINT State Park. It is the highest elevation in the state.
Glad you also were able to go swimming in the Delaware River. Sorry about all the rain, we'll have to talk to the weatherman about bringing better weather to all the AT hikers next time! Oh, and the fireworks...I think alot of towns had to postpone and reschedule their July 4th celebrations partly due to the weather. Either that, or we were just celebrating Ranger Maddie's arrival! We weren't trying to scare you...we were celebrating your presence! Sorry for the confusion.
At any rate, we're glad you paid us a visit. You're welcome in New Jersey anytime!
Well, keep safe, and ENJOY!
Oh Maddie I loved this video. Lake looked so much fun. Never thought to use the mattress in the lake. Great idea. I’m glad you guys are still having fun and getting miles in.
I so understand the storms. When I’ve hiked and got caught in them I’m always going up hill. It’s the end of the trail so I’ve had no choice but continue.
Thank you so much for making these beautiful videos and sharing them with us all!!!!❤
Yeah we've had the rainiest July on record up here in Connecticut. It's been crazy!
That was a great change up. More rest and relaxation than usual. I hope you get your pack situated such that it isn’t hurting you. Hope that shirt holds out!
you seem more relaxed and enjoying this part of the trail.
glad you got some good rest. Hope the rain lets up and the trail drys out for y'all
I enjoyed your hike' I hope you are having a great week and good luck to you.
Love the views!
I know there's a lot of stuff to comment on in this episode, but all I can think about is those garlic knots at the last pizza shop.
You took some amazing pictures. it is so beautiful.
Great video Maddie!! 🚶🏼♀️
Still love your attitude.Go Maddie!!
Bobcat. We have lots of them in Mass.
Oh, New Jersey! This video brought back the memories from last year. I had my first bear encounter by the fire tower in High Point state park. The water in New Jersey is full of tannins and tastes bad the farther north you go. Check the shelters for water cashes. Trail angels bring in water to the shelters. Congratulations on 1300 miles! You look happy and healthy. We love your positivity!! ❤
Moleskin is good fpr pack rubbing issues as well as foot blisters.
I stayed at the Church of the Mountains, tent ⛺ in the backyard, hiker feed WOW, didn't expect that.
You’re doing great!!
The color of NJ water is from mineralization. It looks nasty after filtering but tastes perfectly fine.
You should see the water in the Pine Barrens, brown from Tannic Acid.
Beautiful scenery!!😊
Enjoyed the lakeside views 🙏🙂
So glad you’re enjoying the journey through NJ so far. And those accents were likely New Yorkers. I’m from NJ and most people who are born there don’t really have much of an accent, unless your from Philly area or maybe your folks are from Brooklyn or something.
Crater lake is the best spot on the NJ AT!
I was just there Herping!
I’ve always wanted to paint blazes in a big circle and see how many people end up going in circles.
There’s a spot ( or was) in Shenandoah NP. Right after Bear Den Mountain heading North that seemed to have you going in a circle.
I was just hiking the trail there last year and thought it was making me go around. On the way back I decided to take the first turn instead and didn’t end up circling back.
I think they might had been redoing that part of trail and just hadn’t gotten the markings off.
I’ve been since BUT knew the path so didn’t try to figure it out.
It was really annoying.
All all this time, and after all those miles on the AT, you still have a great attitude. How?
I don’t know, maybe because I admit when things aren’t going well, so the good times seem even better!
Hey, thanks for responding. That makes sense!@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces
Ranger Maddie!
Hippety chi yie yay! 👩🌾
Have a nice day off trail.
Mind and body needs a rest
That’s being Witty Smart! 🐇
🧘♀️👣🏕️🏔️💪🇺🇸
If your shirt doesn’t make it - maybe you can get your blue dress back! 😊
The only state I seen bear on AT👍❤️
Thoughts of Taylor Swift's music ... hmmm. Wild cat looked like a bobcat, couldnt make out much of a tail. It seems like you found the right tramily, need more beer though... Carmine Sandiego (aka Sara Dhooma) still has you beat on recorded beers in trail towns. Keep up the enjoying hike, Cheers!
Just carrying our poles doesn't make you a lightning target (any more than you already are anyway).
Fun fact: tannins are what give Scotch its colour.
Nj has the highest concentration of bears than any other state.
Aya hay muchos oso
Its funny that you say that, I see a bear in the next video!
Miro una oso en el vidéo proxima
Have you gotten to Connecticut yet?
Yep! Video coming soon!
Hey
You keeper
I'm surprised you haven't seen any bears yet
Stay tuned for next episode!!!
Does he have a fishing pole and how?
He got it from someone that didn’t want it anymore, carried it for a few days til it got too inconvenient, then gave it away pretty shortly after!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces youd think they'd invent a hiking fishing pole that folds up.
wait till n.h and maine cant get they a from hey a lols
We don't have an accent!!! (Native New Jerseyan) lol
Could you hike the whole trail with trail magic? and not have to bring your own food 😊
You cheated 😢
How?
Jersey dude here. You are sweet but from a Jersey perspective your Kentucky accent is bordering on a speech impediment.I guess it is all about your point of view...
It definitely is all about perspective!
NJ accent = speech impediment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks!
