  • Jimmy and Mark join Mike Valley of Valley Fish and Cheese in Prairie Du Chien, WI on a morning of commercial fishing the Mississippi River. Mike schools them in hoop netting for Catfish, Sheephead, and Red Horse Suckers to eventually take back to the shop for some good ol’ fryin’. As usual, Mike lays down a ton of interesting information around the whole process - one that’s been in his family for many decades.

My father used to commercial fish on the Mississippi out of Lynnhollow just north of Potosi when I was little girl. This video brings back many memories.

This guy is nice and choose his words carefully. What he didn't say is that most of our catfish is harvested by countries harvesting out of our waters and the majority of our catfish is caught in the USA and shipped to China to be processed and then sold back to us at a higher price. Japan takes fish out of our water almost unregulated.
