    This is great. You get straight to the point. Others TH-camrs would start with an anecdote or the history of mics or whatever, but you get straight in there.

    Hi, This is the best video on TH-cam explaining how to get the external mics to work with the iPhone. Thanks.

    Since the iphone is so sensitive, would you recommend the rode video micro compact instead? I'm currently using the Rode Video Mic Pro, and i admit i cant seem to increase the volume very much without getting some background noise, even after reducing it down using the Protake app

    When you plug the external mic into the iPhone, where is that audio recording into? Does it record right into the video? Will the iPhone internal mic still record as well? Thank you this video is very helpful.

      The external Mic overwrites the iPhone mics. The sound from the external mic is baked onto the Video

    fantastic...any updates for iphone 15 with USB-C connectors? I just got a 15pro max...I would prefer NOT to deal with adapters etc...are there any shotgun mics that already have USB-C connectors? what USB-C compact mini shot gun would you recommend? Something simple...wired is fine-just plug and play...thanks

      @JadeSambrook 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Rode VideoMic Go II. It's a small shotgun style mic. It has USB-C out, so you can just plug in a USB-C to USB-C cable from the mic to the iPhone 15, 15 Pro and 15 pro Max.

    Really helpful. Thank you. Question - Ages ago I was taught that plugging a mic into any device via an adaptor reduces quality. Has that problem been solved?

    • @FreeGafo
      @FreeGafo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely, there is a difference in the sound quality when I plug the same mic into the camera and the phone. But the quality is still way better than using the default iPhone mic.

    Okay I seriously CANNOT find an answer to this on the internet ANYWHERE. I want an external microphone for iPhone that is completely Bluetooth and does not require me to plug anything into my iPhone at all. Why does this not exist? My earbuds are external microphones that don’t require any type of receiver to work with my iPhone. So why do all wireless lavaliere mics need a receiver to work with an iPhone? I do not understand. Is it a latency issue? The Bluetooth connection isn’t fast enough to capture the audio in real time? That seems hard to believe in this day & age.

    • @cam_perdiem
      @cam_perdiem 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The mic that comes with the DJI Pocket 3 apparently connects via bluetooth...but they don't sell it on its own 🙃 th-cam.com/video/u48MucPjCfw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0PErRPIOGrZOlXRd

    • @jlippencott1

      You have to be careful with Bluetooth. They can cause latency problems and be out of sync from your video.

      Yes, you can do it, There are 2 ways.
      1. Connect one of the mics to the camera and the other to the external recorder
      2. Option 2 - Use a Wireless Mic System, put it in stereo mode. The left channel records the person the right channel records the ambient

    what kind of adapter did you use for iPhone? i have iPhone 15 pro and I'm getting mono. I have the same cable TRS to TRRS. but the secondary connector seems wrong.

    • @FreeGafo
      @FreeGafo  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I used the original adapter from Apple that they shipped with the older models. Lighting to TRRS. If you have the 15 it would be better to check a USB-C mic, it should give a bit better performance

    • @FreeGafo
      @FreeGafo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you plug an external mic into iphone the auto leveling doesn't work. You have to adjust the mic levels manually. Try increasing the DB levels from the Mic Receiver

    • @arora.hiimanshu
      @arora.hiimanshu 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FreeGafo It is already at the highest setting. This mic has three options (low, medium, high). When I use Snapchat, I have to increase the volume by 1-3 dB in post-production, whereas if I use the default camera, I need to increase it by more than 6.5 dB. I think I need to use a third-party app like you said in the video(Protake).
