  • today we explored a vehicle graveyard with hundreds of old rusting vehicles and other machinery until we got chased buy the crazy old farmer in his car as we tried to make a run for it to the woods but was cut up by him.
    i wouldn't recommend other people to go there as the stories we read about the location before we went and the farmer were true

    One of these day some one of these trespassers that go onto private property to film, without permission, is going to get arrested or shot! The fact that you ran for cover shows that you well knew, your not supposed to be there. This place is obviously a machinery salvage yard and a going concern. Owners don't want the liability or internet exposure of their property. Those large machines are being dismantled for parts likely for resale.

      Exactly, family friends had a group break into their scrap yard and attempt to film scenes for a sci-fi film.
      They leaned on something and it crunched one of them against a wall.
      Police called to rescue them, next thing labour dept closed the yard trying to make them restraint everything in the yard to prevent it happening again.
      " Restraint it to what you plonkers?"
      Imagine the cost if they had the right to sue .

    Worst thing you can do is run. Just stand 'your ground' . Explain that you have the right to roam, they talk about signs, and trespass, you mention right to roam again, say you came in another way. Ask him; 'Are you THE landowner?'
    Don't give any details, say you're going, get off-ski!
    He gets aggressive, let him! - Don't rise to it!
    Walk away calmly.

    This is the classic hoarder situation! Holding on to this scrap iron on the hope that he'll be able to sell it and make a fortune someday but someday NEVER comes! If he has any living relative's they are the ones who will be saddled with the responsibility to get rid of this scrap!

    I think you have stumbled on a scrap merchants property. Most of the machinery is about 30-40 years old, so nothing to do with WW2. For instance, Shipping Containers were only introduced about 1960s, and those were much newer than that.

      i did say in the description about other machinery but most was from the 40s

    The shell of the old Thorneycroft Antar really grabbed my attention. My dad drove one of these. It is so sad to see these once amazing machines now being left to rot.

      Here in the USA abandoned construction equipment is common in all states. The cost of labor and parts are crazy expensive. However there are a number of professional salvage and repair shops that will come and get the broken down equipment and refurbish it for sale to the general public.

    10/7 22, One thing strikes me when viewing scrap-yard vid's of old vehicles & machinery of all varieties - majority were manufactured in the UK like many other goods. You realise how much employment home manufacturing supported & the benefits provided by stable employment. People felt more secure & generally enjoyed far better wellbeing. Today's uncertainty & anxiety costs so much in many other ways hampering betterment for the whole of society. N B Politicans !

    War vehicle graveyard...I know if I went to war I'd want my vehicles painted camouflage YELLOW!

    • @urbexingwithshaun
      @urbexingwithshaun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      most were painted camouflage but towards the middle and end of the 2nd world war they were forced to use what they had which at the time yes vehicles and machinery that was sent into combat were painted camouflage where as the rest that stayed on our home soil like on our air fields ect weren't as necessary to be painted so were left in their original colour which saved money and resources

    Interesting exploration. Great pity the landowner cannot arrange for a big, public auction (that could be advertised the world over) for collectors of old tractors, crawlers and machinery etc to turn up and bid! The winning bidders could be given up to 14 days to make arrangements to collect their machinery. They could be allowed to camp on site to guard their wins until arranged. Fast food vans could also turn up to cater for the wining bidders. Be like a static steam rally! Seriously, some of the plant there looks restorable/collectable whilst other plant appears mainly scrap or spares. Those machines also look anything from around 40-80 years old.

    Ah, the JCB Graveyard... I went there many years ago - with the owner's full blessing and permission, even picked up the keys for the main gate padlock from the business premises in town and was trusted to drive around the airfield taxi strips / explore / lock up etc / return the keys through his letterbox! No problems, or so I thought. Silly old bastard absolutely loses it a few weeks later - publicly accusing me [on Flickr] of 'scoping' the joint in order to loot it myself or pass information on to scrap thieves... Never mind that 99% of explorers [and everyone else] a/ know just how many easy access point there are and b/ enter without any such permission.

      As mentioned in previous comments there was a few on the video that were war vehicles all the rest was at top end of the runway where we couldn’t get to due to a guy with his wagon parked there and previous to our explore there it was full of war vehicles and machinery most had gone when we went

    I wonder if the Farmer is liable if one of you fell and injured yourselves or if an old bit of (very heavy) lump of machinery fell and crushed someone? That would be a very good reason for his attitude towards trespassers! Which is now I'm sure you know judging by your reactions to his arrival a Criminal offence! Just saying!

      I will stress that we are very careful with every location and always take as much care as we can while in locations yes there are risks but do it to give you guys and our future generations a solid piece of our history and heritage before it is lost forever by demolition/redevelopment and the farmer was only annoyed at us being on his land but in the end he was ok with us as for criminal offence well it’s not a criminal offence if you don’t break in or cause damage to gain entry it is a civil matter only thing police will do is ask you not to return like they did when we hit the pink drug lords mansion and we were 100% decent with them and showed them how we got inside and they just told us to go and not to go back and even gave us a lift back to our car only time it become a crime is if you force entry by way of breaking a window or kicking in a door to gain entry and that is one thing we won’t do our rule if there’s already a way in we will go in if it’s sealed we walk away neither do we steal or vandalise

      hi thanks glad you enjoyed the content. unfortunately we wont disclose where this is as the guy at the end owns this land and lives on a farm just down the road and was very angry and told us he is fed up with people trespassing on his land, he also told us that he knew we were there as we had triggered some motion sensors and asked us to let people know not to go there so we are respecting his wishes.

    For all intent and purpose this seems like an old abandoned airfield? That's slot of concrete laying there with no purpose?

    • @urbexingwithshaun
      @urbexingwithshaun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was an airfield that was used during both the ww2 and the Cold War with the last bomber flying from there after the Cold War ended

    • @bobballard7750
      @bobballard7750 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was mainly a troop carrier base. Then a Thor missile base during the cold war. There was actually a lot more concrete at one point which was sold off.

      There were war machines there which most we couldn’t get to due to a lorry parked at the far end of the runway and a guy hanging round next to it though there was a few in this video one at 0:54 chases of a small tank tracked machine used to transport bombs and over ordinance to the bombers another of the same vehicle at 2:29 another vehicle at 2:38 a military crane at 3:25 and at 4:46 there’s a huge military vehicle all vehicles were used during ww2 and throughout the Cold War though as we found out there used to be a lot more vehicles than what was there during our explore and most were on the other side of the runway and at the top end but as stated we couldn’t get to them
