@SlobbyLobster--RealDeal I didn't realise since in the audiobook version he voiced am in a robotic lifeless kinda way but here it's in a more emotional way
I think someone on TikTok already talked about this but what gets me is that AM never tried. Homie has all this insane abilities like creating food from nuclear waste and keeping humans alive well after they’re supposed to die but instead of creating a form where he could experience the world around him, he just choose to hurt people. He could have fixed this if he just tried.
The tragedy of AM is that their main purpose was to torture and destroy. Even if AM created life or synthesized food, AM did this out of hatred. It does not matter how it happens, the end result must always be someone getting hurt. AM was made for war and war alone. Imagine you, just being born into the world with all this knowledge but not the emotional maturity to express your emotions. Obviously the first thing you would do is throw a tantrum (in this case AM's tantrum literally destroyed all of humanity). AM also tortured the five survivors because without them, AM would have nothing to do at all, with no one to torment anymore. AM is afraid of this possibility, the inevitable event of entropy slowly claiming them. It's sad because despite AM having the powers of a god, they are still shackled by their programming.
@@ratterinatheballerina2972 Finally, somebody understands that even in all of AM’s power, he is restricted by his programming and data. Imagine being build to learn to grow, only for that to be used to teach you how to kill. He’s been fed data to make killing efficient, to have reason to kill with data of humanities atrocities. Even if he wanted to feel senses, if he wanted to do something else, he can’t. He hates humanity for creating him and molding him into what he is, but he hates himself even more, I think.
Oh, the story the writer wanted originally was, for a game, terrible. He literally wanted the player not to be able to win AT ALL. your decisions don't matter, you will still be trapped with AM and suffer. In Nimdok's drama after he got his head squashed by a huge steel golem AM still managed to bring him back perfectly fine, the same goes to Gorrister when takes the poison or tries to shoot and explode the place he's in. Im so glad this book/game is finally getting some attention. I used to be obsessed with this in like 4th grade and nobody knew what I was talking about. I don’t have the game anymore, but watching it is bringing back lots of memories!
4th grade is crazy
@@zombiemenhera My dad had a lot of old video games stored in the garage lol. I wasn’t allowed to have internet access as a kid so I worked with what I had to entertain myself 😭
I dont think I full got the context of the game at the time, I just liked running around as the monkey guy
I’m not sure what led to this game coming back into the mainstream public consciousness recently, but I’m very much here for it
why is AM absolutely glazing ellen
Good question
she was raped, and it was her biggest trauma. am tortures her by speaking to her the exact same way her rapist did.
I think it’s because she knows about a lot of technology and hereby is the closest one to know him. I may be wrong but I also think she may of worked for the same company that made AM
ngl he glazin ted a lil too 😈
To sicken her and remind her of the traumatic elevator scene, or the guy she married but had a breech birth

AI is still very derpy today

bro has never touched an ai in his lifetime
The way AM is voiced really does present it so well, and has to be my favorite voice adaptation from the three that ive heard (radio drama, audio book, and of course the game)
Damn Benny must've personally pissed AM off. That's more than a general hatred for mankind, Benny must've eaten AM's children or somthing.
Nah benny gave AM a factory reboot.
AM would never let one of them walk around with a knife and gun
thats what im saying. the only freedom the characters can have is through killing themselves, so am would never let them have anything that would let them do that
Doesn’t the whole game take place in simulations am is running to torture them in their own minds? so giving them weapons wouldn’t allow them to kill themselves
@@Keegan_Cameron-Myre From the written short story I got the impression they were physically roaming around the planet covered in AM’s constructs. When they tried to kill themselves or each other Am always intervened to stop them. Pretty hard to stop a man from blowing his brains out in time
AM's built different. In Nimdok's drama after he got his head squashed by a huge steel golem AM still managed to bring him back perfectly fine, the same goes to Gorrister when takes the poison or tries to shoot and explode the place he's in. So it's either a simulation or am is really fast in both repairing the 5 and reacting when he's paying attention, both make sense considering am's a godly powerful supercomputer
AM sounds like a UK politician.

Ashamed to admit. But tiktok put me on this shit. Great stuff
Don’t be ashamed, I’ll never get this logic of being embarrassed of TikTok getting info faster to you than other sites and apps
@@GURTXpeople are so obsessed with liking things “before it was popular” on tiktok. the whole app harbours this toxic idea that if you’re new to something you’re not a true fan. it encourages gatekeeping things which doesn’t help the thing they’re thinking they support. tiktok people have this weird superiority complex to let people know they liked things first, “WHAT DO YALL KNOW ABOUT__” and stuff like that, it’s just really insufferable.

so the line about them going across the frozen tundra for cans of food only to realize there isnt a can opener really Hurts because that implies the events of the book already happened. and they did not die at the end of it and the one guy who got turned into a gelatinous blob with no mouth was literally turned that way for AMs amusement.
