THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR ANYONE CONTEMPLATING PCP TANKS!!! Mr. Reed, once again Sir you have answered questions I hadn't even thought of . After watching your video's (several times) I feel totally safe and comfortable around high pressure tanks and compressors. Thank you so much for sharing this valuable-even life saving- information. You share your knowledge in a plain english way that I have no problem at all following! Always looking forward to seeing your video's! Thanks Again!
    Regards,

That's not true about a oil less compresser only filling guns, I have the OMEGA AIR CHARGER that fills both my 75 cubic foot tanks with ease.

Thank you for the correction. For most of the budget oil-less compressors it’s a statement that most would agree with, however yours is obviously an exception. Thank you for clarifying.

Another thing many people do not understand is “duty cycle” and how it relates to whatever electric tool they are using. Most people I say the words “duty cycle” to don’t know what it refers to at all. Compressors especially will fail due to overheating , I can just imagine how sensitive those 4500 psi compressors must be. The smaller sized ones I mean. Your videos are most helped, I think this is the third one I’ve watched at this point.

Mark, I have enjoyed your videos being new to pcp air guns. I have ordered a 2L pcp tank that is 98mm in diameter. I have looked everywhere I could think of to find a stand like you are using on your various tanks to keep them standing. Could you advise where you located them? I appriciate any insight you might offer. Dave

Thank you very much for watching. For my SCBA tanks, I bought a tank boot on Amazon for $15 that fits perfectly (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SKJ96CQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1). For the small buddy tank, I made it out of PCP pipe and the base was the metal liner under the elements of a stove top. turned upside down. I'm not sure what it's called, but I was just walking around Home Depot and thought it would work- and it does! Spray painted black, it looks great.

@@jbplays7302 Wonderful! You will love it. Just get a good moderator. My first PCP was an AirForce TalonP. Fantastic gun. Very powerful and accurate. I also have a Condor. You will learn a lot from using an unregulated rifle. Take good notes, check your groups, and find that sweet range of pressure that gives the best accuracy. It's really a ton of fun figuring everything out. You won't regret it! At some point, you will probably want a chronograph. It makes the process a lot easier. @@jmarkreed Which chronograph do you suggest getting? The prices range from cheap to STEEP on these units. And, I've already dumped a bunch of $ into this hobby already. I ordered a CX compressor, which should be here in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to getting to shoot my AF Escape soon. I want to see what the actual fps I'm getting is, and where the sweet spot is.

@@jbplays7302 Sure, I personally use the FX POCKET CHRONOGRAPH. It's not top-of-the-line, but it seems very reliable and accurate to me. I have not had any problems with it at all. Looks like the price is currently $229.00 to $249.99. Not cheap, but a lot less expensive than many of the others.

Very informative and helpful as I need a tank. Have a Yong Heng, but I hate firing it up just for pcp top offs. Tank would be nice for going away from home too without having a compressor. Plus, from watching videos it is really fast and quiet to refill using tanks. I want the higher pressure capacity, so price has been my hold up. Was really hesitant of used scba tanks, but I feel better after your great explanation 👏 Thank you good sir !

I’m new to this but it’s confusing. My understanding scuba tanks are cheaper because they are heavier and they have a lower capacity?
My PCP rifle has a 250 bars/500 cc bottle attached to it. I asked someone else about using a small scuba to keep in my backpack for portability and average scuba tank for my car and he said the maximum average of an air tank is 3000 psi so this will not fully refill your airgun as you will be short of a full refill and as you keep refilling it, you will get less and less air into your airgun.
If I can get more than one fill from a scuba tank, why won’t it fill my PCP gun fully the first time and less and less the more times you refill your PCP Gun? I have enclosed what he wrote before.
This is the part I don’t understand.
Simply put, How many times can I refill my gun with a small portable scuba tank and how many refills with a normal sized scuba tank?

Ok Iam totally green on the aspects of air gun tanks
I have found a fireman’s tank just got to get the date off of it to see of any years left.
But just wondering if the tuxing products are any good.
I know some things are what you pay for
Also already have the heng compressor. And large steel tank that has to be checked.
But it will need the fill line and gauge for it also.
Can you fill a buddy tank from a larger scuba tank.
    Hope I make sense
    Thanks
    Robert

    • @jmarkreed
      @jmarkreed  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for watching. As far as Tuxing tanks are concerned, I am unaware of any safety or quality issues. I think for many people they would be a good less expensive option. However, as far as I know (and I may be wrong), they do not have tanks that are DOT approved. That means that you would not be able to fill them in a SCUBA shop or other commercial business. They could certainly be filled by your own compressor. On the question of filling a buddy tank from a larger SCUBA tank- sure, as long as the pressure in the SCUBA tank is greater than what you need in the buddy tank. Go for it.
