Richard William Wright (28 July 1943 - 15 September 2008) was an English musician, composer, singer, and songwriter. He was a founding member, keyboardist, and vocalist of Pink Floyd, performing on all but one of their albums and playing on all of their tours.
Wright grew up in Hatch End, Middlesex and met future Pink Floyd bandmates Roger Waters and Nick Mason while studying architecture at the Regent Street Polytechnic. After being joined by frontman and songwriter Syd Barrett, the group found commercial success in 1967. Barrett's instability led to him being replaced by David Gilmour and Wright taking over songwriting duties with Waters. Initially a straightforward singer/songwriter, Wright later acted as an arranger to Waters and Gilmour's compositions. He began to contribute less towards the end of the 1970s and left the band after touring The Wall in 1981.
He rejoined the band as a session player in 1987 for A Momentary Lapse of Reason, and became a full-time member again for The Division Bell in 1994. Sessions with Wright during this period were later released on the album The Endless River. Away from Pink Floyd, Wright recorded two solo albums, including a collaboration with Anthony Moore on Broken China, and briefly formed the duo Zee. After rejoining Waters, Mason and Gilmour as Pink Floyd for Live 8 in 2005, he became part of Gilmour's regular solo touring band, singing occasional lead on songs such as "Arnold Layne", before his death in September 2008.

Amazing 💕💗 Thank you! Richard Wright was so under rated as a musician, never given the credit he deserved by Roger Waters nor critics. Such an incredible contribution to both Pink Floyd and music. These selected songs are just a snippet of his amazing talent. I count myself fortunate to have seen him live on a few occasions. RIP🏵💖

Out of 4 huge bands who all had multi-talented - multi-instrumentalist "quiet" members - ( who all gave up the spotlight to the larger egos at the front of the stage ) - Harrison for the Beatles - Brian Jones with the Rolling Stones - John Paul Jones with Led Zeppelin - and Richard Wright with Pink Floyd - it was Wright who was ( arguably ) the most important - and most "instrumental" to his band's success.

As David Gilmour says, Richard Wright was unique in Pink Floyd music and as a friend and no one can replace him. I believe in a group that has continually fought for themselves and for important political values "the greats, the pimps, the indifferent towards a population that seems dormant and is duped by poisoned chocolates ...". Where is the desire to make room for ourselves, because we digest all that is needed to silence us, to be good, so that the "pigs" can act and consequently they maneuver us as they please. Have we become sheep ???? .... rock has an important role against this system ... Pink Floyd did it ... and still today they are political activists ... There is a pandemic .... but who the fuck wanted ?? ..Always Pink Floyd.

Wonderful, having followed Pink Floyd since my youth, imho 2016 Live at the Royal Albert Hall represents their epitome. Having said that, Rattle that Lock is certainly not a falling away. Love what you've done and do DAVID; and Polly, and the rest. THANK YOU!! xx

Once again HD you've done it. It's no wonder you have almost 1mil. Subs. Couldn't have selected better representation myself to honor Richard and all of The Floyd. 👍Thanks as always great upload. By the way I think you know how I feel about that Echoes performance. There was something very emotional with those two that night. I Truely beleive that. It's almost like they knew.

THE first album i ever bought was DARK SIDE OF THE MOON..
The reason i bought it is because my Big Brother said that PINK Floyd was a Great band.
I listened too him and he was right.
      The best band ever
