Because he has no checkpoints in the barricade, Mateo will try to go through the bottom path if the two barricades on the other path are broken. This, together with some clever blockshifting tech, lets you put him in the hole. What I realized is that I can reuse the same mobs that helped shift Mateo in the hole to also shift mobs in the phase 2 into the hole. Unlike the first setup (which requires a tight deployment) the new deployment is very easy. The red hammers of phase 2 will go in automatically, but the grenadiers and Bodyguards will usually get stuck on the explosive block and pop it, opening up a different path.
I came up with two solutions for this. @DrSilvergun told me that Grenadiers when you pop their ability gain enough movespeed that they overshoot their usual turning point on the bottom, stopping them from getting caught on the block. However, their increased movespeed also makes them go too far into the left blocker, which causes them to get stuck between the two existing Grenadiers. I fixed this by blockshifting them back to the right with a quick deploy (Myrtle + Shaw). However, I saw a video where someone shifts Mateo with only one Grenadier, which means this may not be necessary.
The Bodyguards are only Weight 3. This means that Shaw S1 at skill levels 4+ can push them by 0.1 tiles, which is exactly enough to send them to skip the block.
After coming up with these two ideas I worked out the rest of the clear. From playing normally I knew that such low level 4* have no chance at beating the map even without Mateo, there's no way to kill all the HP the 2nd phase elites have. Going all out my units can barely kill the 2 Bodyguards that spawn left and can't be shifted. CN discovered this blockshifting Mateo trick near the end of the event ( www.bilibili.c... ) and I worked out the phase 2 mobs trick myself because I knew I would need some absurd tricks to beat CM.

Aside from the hole strat because these units are weak there was a lot of fine details in beating the remaining enemies:
- Utage is deployed after one enemy on top lane passes, otherwise she takes too many straight shots and dies
- Indigo needs to bind the red hammer less than 2 times, otherwise he won't break all the barricades in time
- Mateo's skill works differently from other straight shot enemies, in that he cancels if the target is lost. You can also delay him more by retreating late, cause he immediately stops firing bullets unlike other enemies that still carry out the attack
- I found the best results when deploying the blockshifting defender approximately 4.1 seconds after the first defender is retreated. If you mess up the timing, it's possible Mateo won't get shifted into the hole
- When swapping the defenders for the phase 2 hole strategy, it's possible for your new defender to hit the mobs and trigger their explosion ability if you don't retreat the first defender ASAP. For 114 this instantly killed my ops
Overall was really fun to figure out a completely different way of playing from how CN low level players tried it. If you try to beat these enemies normally, then there is no hope for elite 1 level 1 4* only, you don't have enough damage.

This is an impressive clear, but ngl that thumbnail made me think we were in for one of those shifterknights put everyone in the hole clears.

The phase 2 hole trick happens very easily, so I think it might be intended. You can just use the two new phase 2 grenadiers for it instead of saving the first two, which are only needed if you want to kill the boss (which is definitely not intended imo)

The Bodyguards will normally get stuck on the middle explosive block, break it, and won't go into the hole
